I love it!! So much. I love it. I am a huge fan of the the doctor and in fact while listening to this said song I am watching a doctor who marathon and I also adore Buffy, even though I've seen every episode at least three times I find this song absolutely hilarious. That was just hilarious. I admit, I really loved Firefly, and I'm glad she got to watch it... at least for irony's sake. :) I'm glad she's feeling better. Idiot-box free again I hope? If her living without tv keeps her writing her music and being the way she is, I say more power to her. Life is better than tv...but man... Firefly is addictive. (which is bad because there's only the one season) (darn)

I too had never watch firefly, but I've now seen all 14 episodes in less than 24 hours. I'm also desperately waiting to see Serenity. Ironically, I started the show at an all night marathon, but I had to go home and sleep. Sad.

On one level, this song cuts way too close to home since I am a huge fan of Buffy. But it was definitely funny, and the point is well-taken, if a bit painful to hear. I only watch one TV show now, and that will probably go down to zero as my energy levels pick up and I get active again. If more people got enthusiastic about life than about TV, the world would indeed be a different place.

Here's a very funny new twist... Since Sooj was hospitalized and had copious quantities of spare time thrust upon her... she has now watched Firefly and quite enjoyed it, and she's looking forward to finding time to watch Serenity. Discussions are ensuing on what is to happen to the song... It will probably get more obviously tongue in cheek and self depreciating. I'm thinking about having some duct tape prepared in some ceremonious fashion for the actual viewing of Serenity.

Nooooooooo, say it ain't so! You really cracked me up with this comment. Today was the first time I heard Sooj sing this song, and was laughing my ass off along with the crowd. I feel just the same way, and can appreciate the looks that she must get when she tells people that she does not watch television, and has a REAL life. People look at me like I'm a total freak. I've never even heard of Firefly.

I imagine that by now, yo've put the duct tape to good use.
