one of the best looking aircraft ever made imho. i find most USSR aircraft ugly but this baby is one sexy beast. only plane that i would rank with it for looks would maybe be the f14 tomcat. the TC does not have those elegant lines though. also maybe the f22.

I think the F-15 radar and electronics are far superior to the Su-27, but I also think the power to weight ratio is better in the Su-27,the areodynamics and over all design for flight are better in the Su-27 I could be wrong condisering we designed the F-15 from the threat of the mig25 foxbat which is max mach 3 jet, just a point of view and no offense to either planes or the people who fly them, they are both awesome machines!!
radar and electronics in F-15 A (earliest model ) are more or less on the same level with the earliest SU-27, but if you compare the F-15C for example with SU-27 SM which is same generation modernization like the F-15 C then actually Su-27 have better radar and electronics, if you don`t trust me you have bunch of websites with performance info of both planes
with f-15 the best of the 4th generation fighters, and today to me both have some possibilities to win with a rafale or an eurofighter,and to destroy f-35 in a dogfight(but eagle and flanker loses versus lightin in a bvr);only f-22 and pheraps pak-fa (if manteins that which it promises) are too for this two birds

The Americans have actually trained with the Indians in Su30MKIs at Red Flag and the Americans dominated in BFM with F15s. However they concluded that the SU30 was "a tad bit better" than the F15 & F16 but nowhere near as good as the F22. The F15 pilots found the SU30 to be easy targets when they went into post stall maneuvering. The SU27/30 also has a very large radar cross section which makes it easier to detect at long distances.
i know the video from which you get the info, it is a view of one man actually, in cope India exercises for example Indians dominated the F-15`s even with the older SU-30M`s which are less advanced then the SU-30MKI but in cope India they where using experienced pilots which in SU-27 / F-15 story is important factor by my opinion, with the 5-th generation planes on the other hands (F-22,F-35,PAK FA ) it will be more " plane driving a pilot " thing with all that tech. inside :)
@aerofilll also keep in mind that in that excersise many of the f15 pilots were not very exp. fast forward to the last red flag and those same su30's got there a**'s handed to them by the f15. modern top of the line fighters are fairly close in regards to flight performnce. as you say pilot exp plays a big part. the su30 ect has some adv over the aging f15's no doubt though.

And the F35 will be able to see the SU30 long before it sees him because they have HUGE RSCs and the F35 is quite small, so it will out manuver its bigger, fatter opponent. And lastly, the F22 is in reality very maintainer friendly, the maintainers enjoy working on the aircraft, and pilots love to fly it.

@sukhoifanfromitaly F35 doesnt have TV but it is much smaller and can turn VERY well, only the B varient is a bit less agile but still very manuvable. The only reason the F22 cost that much is because they didnt build as much as the originally planned. It is very maintenance friendly compared to older generations of aircraft. As a 5th gen they incoparated it into the system.

The R-77 has not been combat tested and virtually no information has been provided on it. Theoretically the lattice controls help range, but if the motor and guidance is inferior to AMRAAM, it won't matter much. Also, the US leads radar teachnology. Russia is just barely getting AESA.
PAK-FA stated internal load is 8-10 missiles. If we're talking external, the F-22 carries 10-12. And where did you hear that the R-77 has such superior range compared to the AMRAAM? Can you tell me the ranges of R-77 and AMRAAM under a range on launch conditions?
$150,000,000 per plane. 6 AMRAAM is enough to take out 6 planes from long range (they certainly are not short range, same for radar). The maintenance thing is incorrect, it's 10 hours/flight hour as of 2009, which is better than the required 12 hours/flight hour. F-22 maintenance is good vs current planes.

I don't think you guys get it. Why do you think the F-22 was put on the drawing board? This Su-27 can perform its entire demo directly on top of Center-Line. That's ridiculous. This aircraft IS better than our F-15 and that is why we designed and built the 5G Raptor in the first place. It is because Sukhoi out-designed our 4th Gen, that our 5th Gen even exists.

@mikeplay007 Dude, F-15s of the USAF and RSAF have destroyed a total of 9 MiG-29s, half of these kills were WVR leaving only two of the shot down MiG drivers surviving. Three kills were by guns and in most situations the fights were 2vs2. Two MiGs were shot down by 1 F-15 in the Gulf War in one sortie. Keep in mind that the MiG-29 is newer than the F-15 and the Iraqi Fulcrum pilots spent almost a year being trained by top RuAF pilots.

Real means 22 MIG29 against 22 F16, I would say 50 F16 also not be a problem. The F15 has shot down 9 MiG29s without loss, some of these fights were without help from AWACS and one fight was a turning fight. The F16 has shot down 3 MiG29s. Also, the MiG29 cannot target more than one aircraft due to limitations in its RADAR and weapons system. So imagine how well it would go up against 50 F16s as you claim?

Thats was the Su-27SKM right, realy a great optimization pak to the original and with modern LCD display, modern radar sistem, and i belive a beter aerodynamic too. In this video the fighter demonstrates that a dogfight with it is not a good idea. Nice video i realy liked it.

I think the F-15 radar and electronics are far superior to the Su-27, but I also think the power to weight ratio is better in the Su-27,the areodynamics and over all design for flight are better in the Su-27 I could be wrong condisering we designed the F-15 from the threat of the mig25 foxbat which is max mach 3 jet, just a point of view and no offense to either planes or the people who fly them, they are both awesome machines!!

radar and electronics in F-15 A (earliest model ) are more or less on the same level with the earliest SU-27, but if you compare the F-15C for example with SU-27 SM which is same generation modernization like the F-15 C then actually Su-27 have better radar and electronics, if you don`t trust me you have bunch of websites with performance info of both planes

with f-15 the best of the 4th generation fighters, and today to me both have some possibilities to win with a rafale or an eurofighter,and to destroy f-35 in a dogfight(but eagle and flanker loses versus lightin in a bvr);only f-22 and pheraps pak-fa (if manteins that which it promises) are too for this two birds

The Americans have actually trained with the Indians in Su30MKIs at Red Flag and the Americans dominated in BFM with F15s. However they concluded that the SU30 was "a tad bit better" than the F15 & F16 but nowhere near as good as the F22. The F15 pilots found the SU30 to be easy targets when they went into post stall maneuvering. The SU27/30 also has a very large radar cross section which makes it easier to detect at long distances.

i know the video from which you get the info, it is a view of one man actually, in cope India exercises for example Indians dominated the F-15`s even with the older SU-30M`s which are less advanced then the SU-30MKI but in cope India they where using experienced pilots which in SU-27 / F-15 story is important factor by my opinion, with the 5-th generation planes on the other hands (F-22,F-35,PAK FA ) it will be more " plane driving a pilot " thing with all that tech. inside :)

@aerofilll also keep in mind that in that excersise many of the f15 pilots were not very exp. fast forward to the last red flag and those same su30's got there a**'s handed to them by the f15. modern top of the line fighters are fairly close in regards to flight performnce. as you say pilot exp plays a big part. the su30 ect has some adv over the aging f15's no doubt though.

And its manuvability is a improvement over the F16s which is very manuvable, because of its size. Its just a ball of hype, like when they were saying that MIG29s and SU27s were going to completely pulvavise F15s and F16.. look at what actually happened in combat LMAO!!

@sukhoifanfromitaly Its not even in production, and when it is, (if they ever make it to production) they cant afford to build alot, definatly not 500. And the F35 will be able to see the SU30 long before it sees him because they have HUGE RSCs and the F35 is quite small, so it will out manuver its bigger, fatter opponent. And lastly, the F22 is in reality very maintainer friendly, the maintainers enjoy working on the aircraft, and pilots love to fly it.

@sukhoifanfromitaly F35 doesnt have TV but it is much smaller and can turn VERY well, only the B varient is a bit less agile but still very manuvable. The only reason the F22 cost that much is because they didnt build as much as the originally planned. It is very maintenance friendly compared to older generations of aircraft. As a 5th gen they incoparated it into the system.

The R-77 has not been combat tested and virtually no information has been provided on it. Theoretically the lattice controls help range, but if the motor and guidance is inferior to AMRAAM, it won't matter much. Also, the US leads radar teachnology. Russia is just barely getting AESA.

$150,000,000 per plane. 6 AMRAAM is enough to take out 6 planes from long range (they certainly are not short range, same for radar). The maintenance thing is incorrect, it's 10 hours/flight hour as of 2009, which is better than the required 12 hours/flight hour. F-22 maintenance is good vs current planes.

Okay maybe you are right! I am not a huge 15 fan anyways! I think it's combat record is blown up on inferior jets and their fans blow it up! They make it out to be A GOD of the skies! It has much better meneuverability as you say, I will use that against fans of it on the youtube who hate on the Tomcat to up the Eagle and so on! I don't think you guys get it. Why do you think the F-22 was put on the drawing board? This Su-27 can perform its entire demo directly on top of Center-Line. That's ridiculous. This aircraft IS better than our F-15 and that is why we designed and built the 5G Raptor in the first place. It is because Sukhoi out-designed our 4th Gen, that our 5th Gen even exists.
Ask ANY Eagle Driver, if they would want to go 1v1 with a skilled Flanker Driver and they will tell you "No."

It first flew in 1990 and had been on the drawing board for even longer. It was origionlgy designated to escort B-2s and F-117s. "GREAT" kill ratio of F15s is based on kills of second generation figters, or 4-5 F15s suported by AWACS against 1MIG29, or 1MIG25 (made 1964). When SU27 was first introduced, jurnalist ask to F16s pilot, what it will do if he would face SU27 in real fight, he answered "HE'S GONNA EJECT" I think he was a wise pilot.

@mikeplay007 Dude, F-15s of the USAF and RSAF have destroyed a total of 9 MiG-29s, half of these kills were WVR leaving only two of the shot down MiG drivers surviving. Three kills were by guns and in most situations the fights were 2vs2. Two MiGs were shot down by 1 F-15 in the Gulf War in one sortie. Keep in mind that the MiG-29 is newer than the F-15 and the Iraqi Fulcrum pilots spent almost a year being trained by top RuAF pilots.

No Viper pilot in the world would bring that kind of disrace on the entire integrity of AF, I know this because my dad was a Red Viper Aggressor of 15 years. We bought Su-27s from Ukraine, and after only three weaks we sold them on the open market because it only took us that long to figure out how to beat them. We were not impressed.

@aeroshark1 I don't think you have any experience, or knowledge about airfight. In Serbia one MIG29 was up against 22 NATO planes, suported by AWACS. Real means 22 MIG29 against 22 F16, I would say 50 F16 also not be a problem. If you have any experience, you wouldn't say that, becouse experienced people knows that MIG29 is much better fighter than F16 and costs 12 milion more, but still best seling plane in the world.

@mikeplay007 What?! For a start, the MiG29 has never won a fight against western aircraft. Unless you consider shooting down the mighty Cessna a win. The F15 has shot down 9 MiG29s without loss, some of these fights were without help from AWACS and one fight was a turning fight. The F16 has shot down 3 MiG29s. Also, the MiG29 cannot target more than one aircraft due to limitations in its RADAR and weapons system. So imagine how well it would go up against 50 F16s as you claim?

A pesar de que hay aeronaves mas poderosas que el SU-27, este es mi favorito, es bello, lastima que la SEMAR no lo compro, tambien su par, el F-15 es mi favorito, uno por el lado yanqui y el otro por el lado ruso, buen video.

I agree! at least, with the F-15, you can tell what the pilot is trying to show you. Russian demo's are so loosy goosy! It looks like the pilot just took off and stared making stuff up as he went along. I'll stick with American demo's from now on. I can only hope that the Pak-Fa demo will be better.

Without comparing aircraft, go and watch the F-22 Raptor demo, then come back and watch this one again.
If you still cannot see it, go back and do it again. Watch the F-22 Raptor video demo, then come back and watch this one. By then, you should be able to see it.

Thats was the Su-27SKM right, realy a great optimization pak to the original and with modern LCD display, modern radar sistem, and i belive a beter aerodynamic too. In this video the fighter demonstrates that a dogfight with it is not a good idea. Nice video i realy liked it.
