  • Hey Mike this is far out, I'm a busker in Belfast would to know how you set up your mic for your harp, I'm thinkin of buying a busker amp to give my act a lift, but I'd love to use a little mic for my harp. how'd you do that

  • Hi Goldie

Mike uses an old AKG drum mic (maybe a C418 or C518)which he's messed about with and attached to the harp harness himself. He normally runs that directly to the mixer. He also sometimes uses a 'green bullet' which can sound great plugged direct into a guitar amp or the mixer but it's a lot heavier and not so good if you need your hands free to play guitar.

Hope this is some help. All the best,

    Ewan M

  • Hi Mike, you were the first guy I ever saw playing electric guitar in a folk club. That was The Gowanbank Hotel around 72/73 when I was on the bill as well.

That night you played the lost fox train thingy on the harmonica and its a coincidence that I heard it yesterday on Paul Jones R and B show.

    Keep sookin' and blawin.
