  • As many others have commented , I also feel very peacefull when I hear the sound of a Shakuhachi, wich is very intriguing to me because I always remember the Segoku period when I listen to it. So, an instrument reminds me of war times and still makes me feel peacefull ? It's very powerfull and unique indeed.

By the way, is that picture a representation of Tadakatsu Honda ? I believe he had a horned helmet and used a long range weapon such as that one (not sure if it's called a Yari).

  • @Namsior I'm not exactly sure, to be honest. It was just a random photo I found. =).. It could very well be Tadakatsu Honda..

  • This song is for me excellent in meditation. Thanks for the uploader en of course the Japanese people. =D

  • Where can i get that pic? IT'S AMAZING! and so is the music!! !!! \(*w*)/

  • The name of the player is MIYATA Kohachiro, and the piece is called 'Honshirabe', from an album called 'Shakuhachi - The Japanese Flute', on the Elektra Nonesuch Explorer series.

Always a good thing if the uploader would include such information.

  • @edosan2 Done. The description has been edited. Thank you. =)

  • Dubstep brought me here...?

  • @KnollDark You were saved, my friend.

  • muy relajante :)

  • Yea, when i choose Japanese civilization in "Age of empires" game, I get the elite unit Samurai !

  • The Japanese flute sounds beautiful. The sound has a depth that creates a deeper atmosphere and soul than the traditional flute.

  • I play solo top.

  • Do you happen to know the name of the shakuhachi player?

  • Where could i find the picture?

  • I can see this Samurai in my mind, meditating among the cherry blossom trees...

  • This is great Japanese flute music. It got me wrapped in. At first, I thought it's ok. Then I was discontented that it was over.

  • I like the artwork :) and of course, the sound.

  • Ah...what a unique sound. Almost haunting, but still very peaceful. Absolutely awesome!

  • I feel like I'm just about to go to war.

  • this song is i amazing i freaking love the japanese because they make exquisite tunes and they are such an honorable group of people. you have my ut most respect for uploading this video

  • It's a shame that the nation of wise Samurais created stupid Anime

  • @shvelo96 It's a shame that one of the most supposedly "advanced" country on this planet created stupid cartoons...

  • @shvelo96 theres a lot of wonderful anime , i like hayao miyazaki

i love hayao miyazaki films/ Ghibli studio

    i love hayao miyazaki

    from totoro-to-grave of fireflys

  • @shvelo96

While they're not all stupid...well, okay 95% is, I totally agree with you.

  • Oh!!! No japanese here??? Im 21 young japanese. I love it!!!!!

    I've inherited S侍-sprit!!!!!!

  • what has this picture to do with this music??

  • @HALO3bestGame4ever In the picture, there's a Samurai... Despite the countless 'national symbols' Japan has, such as ninjas, the Rising Sun flag, the cherry blossoms, even animes and so forth, the Samurai is easily the most recognisable symbol of Japan, perhaps second to anime, but I doubt it. EVERYBODY knows that Samurais are Japanese.

  • @Cri5tian3lfu watch the south park episode in the latest season, the guy from the chinese restaurant organizes an event to teach the difference between china and japan.

  • @Cri5tian3lfu You know, even though he's on a pony, I'd still hate to see him coming anywhere near me. Beautiful music! The plural of "Samurai" is still "Samurai", by the way. :3

  • @Cri5tian3lfu not everybody.... i did but i'm talking about ignorant people.

  • @Cri5tian3lfu Yes; Second to anime....

  • @Cri5tian3lfu

Awww shit I thought samurai were brazilian...

  • @HALO3bestGame4ever Though he is fierce outwardly he is inwardly calm. This music represents a samurai's zen, even this one.

  • @cajunmane82 You took a katana to the knee?.. xD..

  • @Cri5tian3lfu *facepalm*

  • @dustiroses Hey, I try to make everybody feel comfortable =p..

  • @Cri5tian3lfu hah, nice reference

  • @Cri5tian3lfu no he took a kyûdô arrow I think...(just to say: Kyûdô archers were very strong archers...). Still I had a great laugh seeing this comments, but it killed the mood for peaceful music...Damn Skyrim is everywhere...

  • You'd want to be a samurai even if you were asked to commit seppuku?

  • @anooshapalooza Yes...

  • Comment removed

  • @anooshapalooza

you don't get asked to do seppuku, a samurai does seppuku by his own will.

  • The music is very beautiful,I like the picture

  • Damn! Japan is such a culturally rich and beautiful country... Insomuch that MAN! Japanese people should look like their anime characters... It's kind of deceiving knowing they're slanted-eyes :(

  • this is pretty flat and awesome...I think I'll give a beat

  • some times i wish i was a samurai in the old days of japan to be in the chosobake clan

  • @aviad333 clan Oda would annihilate you

  • @Rolfwar it on,its on like ZzZzZzZz

  • The book Go-rin no sho is as good as the sun tzu one

  • this reminds me in Clamp school nagisa

  • That's a pretty cool picture

  • that's cool!

  • As I big-time anime and manga fan, I have to say....

    My peers sadden me.

This is what Japan is really about. Peace, serenity... Beauty... Even their WARS were in some ways sophisticated.

    Very nice flute music.

  • @Minatoleekrinaze Right, because suicide-bombing with airplanes makes you look sophisticated.

  • @punkband14

Mm, I never said WW2 specifically now did I?

The Kamikaze through Japanese eyes was an honorable practice, and personally I respect some of the soldier's selflessness that they were willing to do so.

As for bombing them, I do not think that action in particular was just, and that another action COULD have been taken, seeing as Japan and Italy were Hitler's bitches for a while.

I mostly meant to Sengoku period, but whatever you say Sir Sarcasm.

  • @Minatoleekrinaze The fact is the Kamikaze was a last desperate effort to keep invaders off their homeland. In any sense it was a tactic that is still used today when it comes to desperation in warfare. As for their more older wars, there are some cases of sophistication however their warfare was just as brutal and sometime not so honorable.

  • @bigjames88

True, true, but war has no true honor anyway.

Only honor is found in the individuals and the choices made.

  • great picture ! =o

  • I love the music.

    I hate weaboos.

  • @BackdoorPlumber There's a difference between non-Japanese people that are interested in Japanese culture, INCLUDING anime and cosplay... and Non-Japanese people that are fanatical in their obsession with Japan, to the point where Japan is a sort of Earthly Heaven and any other part of the world is Hell... In simple words : I agree with you.

  • @Cri5tian3lfu can I be both?

  • haha my friends always tell me that i have an obsession for japan coz i really like to go there sometime but i also tell'em that there a a lot of things i don't like (4 example the small houses, food, cosplaying)

thx for posting this comment so i can show it to them :D

  • @Cri5tian3lfu

I agree with him too. Though I didnt care that much when I came up with my user name though.

  • @Cri5tian3lfu japan is heaven on earth for me

  • @Cri5tian3lfu Anime and cosplay are the least interesting parts of Japanese culture. Their traditional music, art and theater are marvelous though.

  • I am currently studying Japanese on my own, sadly they don't have classes for that in Alabama.

  • Japanese, china and many similar cultures are wildly different from western cultures, it has very interesting history and belief system...

    ...

My mother dreamed to go to Japan one day... I will bring her to see it one day... So I could give back at least a little of what she's done for me... I swear I bring my Mom to Japan one day... :)

    ...

Book that are interesting along with ones of Sun Tzu and Musashi are: Lao Tzu - Tao Te Ching; anything written by Alan Watts.

    ...

    Beautiful...

  • 0:00 new replay button....i broke the last

  • youtube needs a repeat song button for things like this

  • @UmiHoshiX Heheh.. Agreed..

  • The art of war....I have read this book over 100 time's it will tell any one what the need to know.

  • @DarthDisseus The Art of War was a book written by the great military general and strategist Sun Tzu. Having 13 chapters, each of which is devoted to one aspect of warfare, it is said to be the definitive work on military strategies and tactics, and it is still being read for its military insights... Sadly, Sun Tzu was a Chinese General, not Japanese =)..

  • @Cri5tian3lfu and the Art of war was written when japan was still young, around 300 years I think

  • @Cri5tian3lfu Sadly? what's so sad about it?

  • @Cri5tian3lfu why is it sad? A lot of the Japanese and Chinese have exchanged culture and had influences on each other in many ways. we are all human beings at the end of the day " most of us" and so why is it so "sad" that we learn from each other or are influenced by each other as a planet.

  • @TheMindIsTheDojo I used 'sadly' with a different meaning... Rather than express regret that Sun Tzu was Chinese, I express 'regret' that DarthDisseus made a mistake in thinking that Sun Tzu was Japanese.

  • @Cri5tian3lfu ok no problem.

  • @Cri5tian3lfu You saw that shit on the history channel......

  • @ForceRcnMarine No, I actually read about it AND read the book itself...

  • @DarthDisseus Book of Five Rings is Japanese. Read that! Musashi Miyamoto was a hell of a swordsman!

  • @NajisaSeshiro Uhm.. Sadly, my japanese issss... non-existant, but I used Google Translate, heh.. It is indeed more.. more strange and mysterious than relaxing, but it's still a fantastic song.

  • @Cri5tian3lfu It's ok, I´m not a Japanasese anyway, I´m a Mexican my friend, and also my english isn't good enough as you can see... in fact I'm studying English just right now. By the way, are you interested in Japanese? I'm a Japanese Teacher in my country... did you use the Google translator ? Very good more than i expected, because the grammar is correct. Greetings from Mexico!

  • @NajisaSeshiro Your English is a lot better than what I've seen so far, heheh.. I AM actually interested in Japanese, but, sadly, I'm going to study Dutch instead, since my somebody very important to me lives in Holland.. I want to move with her and the first step is learning Dutch heheh.. And yes, I did use Google translator, much to my shame, but my Japanese is extremely poor to say, the least..

  • @Cri5tian3lfu Dutch, really? It's quite a difficult language and if I were able to choose between Dutch and Japanese, I'd choose Japanese. Here, in the Netherlands it's horrible. The country is nothing but meadows and cities. The language is annoying, and the people here aren't all that nice either. But if your beloved lives here, in the Netherlands, I might understand it.

  • @NajisaSeshiro I'm from Sweden, though compared to Spanish, I think the Japanese grammar is easier, tried to learn Spanish due to relatives living in Colombia, but I failed rather miserably. Though when I studied Japanese I learned it quite well! It's a wonderful language, from a wonderful land.

  • @NajisaSeshiro You're a Japanese teacher? Cool! I find Japanese to be a quite fascinating language.^_^

Where did you study Japanese??? By the way your English is really good! Ganbatte, ne?:D

  • This is very relaxing music. It's a famous Japanese honkyoku piece. I think it's called Choshi?
