  • but what would tigger the fire? how would one pull the cord once in the air!!

  • this is the third episode i watched, and all were DC-9 aircraft.but the type doesn't matter ,it matters how well the aircraft is maintained and the pilot is trained

  • MD gets a lot of unnecessary flak in my opinion. Boeing planes have had their fair share of poor designs and maintenance errors. TWA 800's own air conditioners blew up the plane because Boeing thought it was a good idea to put hot pipes next to the fuel tank.

  • I remember reading about how hard pilots fight to regain control of their aircraft, that their bodies are often found with both arms broken along with broken feet/ankles from being so stiff, from the muscles being rock hard, exerting all that force onto the yoke/rudder pedals...it's kinda a comforting thought. Call it odd...

  • 45:00 AIRTRAN :D

  • @JJessup2010 How could you even think that? They were only following what they were told by their superiors! It's the companies fault for not being cautious enough.

  • DC = Designed to Crash

  • @DeputyLOL People died DIED you idiot! Families kids and a bunch of other people. How would oyu feel if your family was in that crash huh?

  • Sabretech gets a fucking fine? The men that did not safely secure the tanks should be charged with 108 counts of voluntary manslaughter and sentenced to death!

  • greg feith!!!! ...again.

  • Remember Air Tran=Valujet

  • i am a pilot and i can honestly say,not one of us would like this horrific accident to happen on our watch.any of these programs will show you the pilot fighting to save everybody, right down to the ground.dont get me wrong, pilots do make mistakes.this is basically poor maintenance/handling of the plane before departure.

please do not blame us for everything!

  • RIP guys, thank god you were unconscious before you passed away

  • @smhxjd2 The people directly above the fire fell through the floor into the fire before the smoke got them. Man, I'd rather eat the impact @ that speed than fire or smoke... Instant game over vs slow decent, noooo thank you.

  • The company does not sound a good company to travel with

  • Great video

  • Nevr fly on a mcdonald douglas

  • 13:05 Who is that guy and what's he doing with Brian Williams' voice?!

  • Why didn't they open the cabin doors? I'm glad that the Pilots died, i don't care, it's their fault, stupid "Pilot Errors" my god...

  • @Th3R3alPr0 there was no fault on the pilot or co pilot; the crash was caused by fire in the cargo hold caused by improperly handled oxygen canisters. The fire burned very hot and spread very fast, burning through wiring and other vital parts of the plane. Opening the cabin doors -even if it could be done would have fed the fire. the pilot did open her side cockpit window moments before the crash. Such a horrible crash, may they all R.I.P. .

  • @Th3R3alPr0 your glad the pilots died? I hope you die in a horrible car smash sometime very soon, a befitting end for someone as horrible and evil as you. By the way, my words are sarcastic... such a pity you actually MEANT what you said. Asshole

  • @Th3R3alPr0 And further to Rampage2015's comment... People have good reasons to say they wish you a slow and painful death without meaning it as a joke. This crash was in no way the pilots' fault (dropping oxygen masks would have worsened the fire as it would have fed on all the new oxygen). They had families and loved ones just like their passengers did. How dare you express gratitude at their deaths you stupid uneducated scum bag.

  • @SheffieldSteel1000 I agree that this is a heart breaking accident, but the pilots were wrong, there have been similar cases/accidents where lack of oxygen put everyone out (sometimes without a fire at all)when you start feeling dizzy you must immediately suspect CO gas, and also if you see smoke, the fire is unlikely to stop if the aircraft is not equiped with exstinguising system, therefore nothing to lose by oxygen masks and could just buy time to make a rough landing

  • @SheffieldSteel1000 in fact, in many chemical fires the materials feeding the fire, such as chemicals and plastics, or stuff made out of magnesium, they burn by using its own oxygen, (the element itself contains oxygen molecules in big supply) it would burn perfectly even in a tight, air vacuum space! and adding some more oxygen in the passenger section will hardly make things worse. -that's also why most fire extinguishers cannot put out those fires, they keep reigniting

  • @Th3R3alPr0 Hi. You are a complete and total idiot. You thoughtless piece of living shit. Stupid pilots? It wasn't the pilot's fault you moron. Watch the full video again, then go fuck yourself. Look's like you're the only one out of 27,000+ viewers that didn't get it. Loser...

    Have a nice day...

  • I'm glad I ride Jetblue.

  • female drivers... oh thats immature but ill comment it anyway :P

  • It figures, value Jet, the company purcahsed the cheap airplanes.

  • DC is short for "Doom Chamber"

  • @fomorgorgodrull airbus A330/40 are the best.....

  • 24:44....Ordinary? Routine? No such thing with DC anything!

  • How the heck are you supposed to know what type of plane you're going to be boarding before actually seeing it on the landing strip? (I only took the plane twice)

  • @pouelchnu You can usually look up the pertinant info when booking. Some airlines give you a good amount of history on the type of plane you will fly in. Not trying to sound like a snit here (tone can be so easily lost in typing). I know that I've looked up info about the plane I am going to ride on just to allieviate my fears or in some case confirm them...

  • If ppl used fire suppressors 110 would not have died that day!!!

  • i hope douglas kills azll other companies

  • McDonald Douglas makes planes like the french make cars their all pieces of shit

  • Air Tran??? OMG!!

  • VALUE JET who came up with that name? You dont want to see the word value on the side of your plane :-(

  • The lazy workers should've been charged with murder. >:I

  • I've seen about 6 or 7 "Seconds From Disaster" shows dealing with plane crashes and each times it's a result of a worker being lazy and cutting corners or the company being greedy and trying to save money, time, and manpower. It's sad all these people have had to die because others have been careless and greedy.

  • its funny how they say airplanes are the safest way to travel but you don't see buses, trains, ships falling from thousands of feet in the sky and smash into the ground. most of the airplanes in service are flying death traps

  • @jsfa380 Lol come on now, who wants to spell out the whole word ! Val-u and value sound the same

  • Omg and this was the exact time I was born ;(

  • I found out that one of the victims was a chargers running back

  • Comment removed

  • Flight 592, call sign "Critter".... oh boy.

  • now that's an invention, a deathtrap in a can, self sufficient, self igniting, good job

  • now how is anyone surprised from an airline named Valujet, they can't even spell value correctly

  • Death contraption 9...

  • I feel horrible for all those people who died on that plane. I would have coughed and passed out too.

  • never board a dc-9, dc-10 or md-88 they are flying coffins

  • @ajitjacobpanicker absolutely!! those planes... broooooeeeeeeeeh....... :///////

  • @ajitjacobpanicker I flown on a DC-9 in 2011!

  • @ajitjacobpanicker One of the Planes That you See Because of Poor Eyes And 2 experienced IDIOTS!

    Why?

Because They REFUSE FOR OXYGEN MASKS!

  • @TriMissile That's Why...

    The Generators Are Gone!

  • @TriMissile Blame The Workers

    Not the pilots

  • @TriMissile

Turn on the Oxygen Masks you turn on Oxygen, in a fire that's a death scentence since it will feed the fire

  • @ajitjacobpanicker or board an airline with the word "valu" in it.

  • @ajitjacobpanicker damn right. i would rather ride a boeing 707 than a dc9 or 10

  • @ajitjacobpanicker indeed.

  • @ajitjacobpanicker all Douglass planes are coffins not just the dc9 !!!!

  • @ajitjacobpanicker never board anything that is DC

  • @ajitjacobpanicker As of March 2009, the DC-9 has been involved 2,135 fatalities dc10 975 fatalities md 88 1250 this company has killed more than 4200 people why do people fly with these airlines ? they should get the hint after 8 crashes damn 4200 people !!!

  • @gorillachilla thats why this company got taken over by boeing lol

  • @ajitjacobpanicker Add Boeing 747s to that too.

  • @ajitjacobpanicker

i just say no to the Death Chamber 10

  • @ajitjacobpanicker no they are good planes made by a shit company, besides this one was caused by bad matanence.

  • @ajitjacobpanicker Why did you say that? It's not true at all!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @ajitjacobpanicker the fire that causes the disaster was caused by the oxigen generators, that were stowed and secured wrong by mechanics. Also the tires added to the fatality of the disaster. It was in 1996, and as the MD80 or dc9 families are old, they didn't have cargo compartment fire detector and extinguisher. This is NOT because they are "flying coffins", but 'cause they're old.So these families have done several accidents, I know, but do you know how long are they flying?

  • @Giallo231996 i agree..with your comment

  • @ajitjacobpanicker they are flying coffins, however, this was not the planes fault or pilot error.

  • @ajitjacobpanicker As of February 2011, the DC-10 was involved in 56 incidents,[45] including 31 hull-loss accidents,[46] with 1,261 fatalities.[47]

Despite its troubled beginnings in the 1970s, which gave it an unfavorable reputation,[48] the DC-10 has proved a reliable aircraft.[49] The DC-10's initially poor safety record continuously improved as design flaws were rectified and fleet hours increased.-wiki

  • all those lives lost for a bit off lousey money

  • @mrtardis14 isn't it almost always like that with air crashes?...

  • (Previous post continued)... generators and allowing them to be put on a passenger plane without ensuring they had been made safe is negligence beyond belief. RIP all those who died.

  • This was an absolutely appalling tragedy, but what makes it worse is the fact these 110 innocent people were killed by gross negligence and a company's greed. This episode seems to avoid mentioning that many attempts were being made to ground Valuejet prior to this disaster because of there abnormally high number of near misses, all caused by the company cutting corners to save money. For 110 lives to have been lost as a result of nothing other than an airline failing to dispose of out of date..

  • Today is the 15th anniversary of this tragic crash. I plan to go to the memorial when I go to Miami in July.

  • we can't have any civil peace in this world it always countrys hateing and wanting to rule other countrys and religions terrorism glore to boot

  • thanks for uploading dude. i just love your channel. and the best thing is that you dont put it in part !!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for uploading! In one piece, correct aspect ratio...

  • @FastGreenFCF haha does it matter??? LOL
