Hey Borg, where do those screws on the bottom screw into, it confuses me. It seems like the screw right into the barrel but obviously that isn't possible. I am thinking of making something like this seeing as I have access to these sort of materials.

@paintballjohn yes, they screw into the barrel, to prevent shroud from spinning, but there's a little plastic washer, between the screw and the barrel, so the barrell don't get scratched....

@EmanE77 personaly i like my streightline ( a little over priced in my opinion but deadly acurate) but an apex is deff better over a flatline for range/acuracy on an a5. as for a 98c iv heard that a flatline is better. it depends on whether or not u would like to adjust the range of ur shots and have other cool features then go apex. or if u want just 1 consistant range then go with the flatline. in my opinion apex hands down every time

@assassinsrock actualy dude it is more acurate. me and a freind had a side by side comparison of my streight line vs his 16 inch regular ported barell. my streight line outpreformed him in terms of tighter shot grouping. the barels do have minute amounts of diferences over paintballs. like a fully ported barell will be quieter and a bit more acurate than a regular ported barell. it all has to do with back spin and porting. but the thing that makes the biggest diff is the ball itself. consistency

@blootoons nope you might be better at holding the gun steady than him but it isn't more accurate, punkworks did TONS of tests showing which was the most efficient bore, accuracy, etc etc. in the accuracy column only one barrel was more accurate than the others, and that was some pos 32 degrees barrel that was actually powdercoated on the inside. And unless you put an ungodly amount of backspin on a ball it won't make a difference, same with porting it never touches the ball so it doesn't matter

@assassinsrock porting matters for quietness and range and somewhat acuracy. it decreases the turbulance at the muzzel break, lets the gas escape gradualy. its not just about spin, its about the consistancy and roundness of the paint. also its about how the ball spins in the barell. if theres less drag then it will affect the ball diferently than a barell with more drag. trust me dude do like a j&j ceramic barel vs another run of the mill barell of the same length. ul notice a difference

ive always wanted to do stuff like this, i have 100's of ideas i cant do because i lack the tools XD. i have even come up with a valid working design for a bullpup sniper rifle design that uses the two haves of a sp-1...... ill be making the body out of fibre glass, which i can do at home, but some of the stuff for it may have to be machined :(. nice work though borg! lol when i started watching your vids, i had no idea you where the borg that mike from techpb talked about at living legends 2!

Im not sure about how croatia regulates silencers but its illegal in 12 of the 50 United States and even in the thirty eight they are legal in you must go through the ATF and you must go through a thorough criminal background check and it costs you two hundred dallors to get the tax stamp which is a legal document allowing possession of a silencer. But what is considered a silencer and not is really touchy and that is why a lot of paintball companys do not make them.

My dad's a milwright, and he works at Precision Resource (Steel dealing company, not sure of the details) and there is a lot of scraps there. In this time of people recession, he gets bored, so I could ask him to make me some cool shit... he just needs a design plan. For Monday, I'm going to get me some people-sized pieces of clear plastic and make me some targets for practice and range testing. I'll cut them to figures with a (angle?) saw.

Cheap shroud. Use 1.75in PVC pipe(6ft is like $3). If you have the stock APEX barrel then cut PVC to 6in. Paint it black and cut holes or slits on opposite sides. Use the foam from the Apex packaging, put it back on the barrel and press into the PVC. You should be able to slide it over the APEX a little so you and tighten the barrel.

Gives it a Flatline look. Not as strong at BORG's but solves the looks prob. Otherwise I'm milling one now and its a huge freekin pain, its starting to look cool but takes the 6 hours he says it does.

And if you don't want a cylinder look just start hunting for something to hack up. I built elevators for a while and had some big Alu shafts. I'm cutting and milling it down to what I want. That's the great thing about improvising, you have the freedom to make what you want. Then when you are done you have the only one like it.
