i know this is 2008..but just a tip for you heat lamps..put a small hole on one or both sides of it and put zip ties through the mesh top and the lamp. therefore you dont have to keep taking them off to take your lid off you can just lift the lid and lamps all at once..got this tip from ralph davis

I got this exoterra one at a petsmart here in ontario. I have seen them at expos here for a bit cheaper but i needed one before an expo came around. Nearly all the pet stores in my city have them. Not sure where you live but check your area for them...you can also by them off exoterra site i thinkl. goodluck

@elishkamo ball pythons or any kind of snake needs uvb uva because since they eat whole prey they make d3 in that way

@100reptilemaster Actually, snakes do not need UVA or UVB. I work with reptiles for a living and they guy I work for has hundreds of ball pythons. Trust me, all they need is a a heat pad underneath them. Unless you have a tank with an open screen top, then it's a good idea to have a infrared heat lamp on them too. But if you have them in breeder racks then all you need is a heat pad, water dish, paper towels (as substrate), and a hide.

Other than that, no UVA or UVB is necessary.

@elishkamo skittywolf is a busy body. i feed my burm mainly wild animals and ive had him for nearly 10 years and he is 11' long and healthy. snakes have evolved feeding on wild animals full of parasites and bacteria. nice vids =)

I use a plant that vines really well called a POTHOS plant. You can purchase it at any regular nursury centre or sometimes even a grocery store floral section. I think only certian times of the year though. They dont cost a lot either and they never die...especially in a set up like this that gets plenty of water.
