Whats the difference between the EVO and PRO version? My local stores sell both at the same price and the only difference I noticed is the ports. So please help me.
You dont need them because on the i5's and 7's and i think i3's, the northbridge is built into the cpu chip itself... pretty cool. But please correct me if i am wrong people!
Hey linus it me the guy who asked about either the ud5 and rampage i decided to go ud5 but i was just wondering if the rumored 6 cored cpu's that are suppose to come out in the middle of next spring will they be for x58 or another board or do you know nothing?
I do really like the P55 platform though. Actually went with a Core i7 860 for a recent build for a friend. Paired it up with an MSI P55-GD80 and it's super stable with great performance.
I definitely won't be changing over my own X58 system though.
i built a friend a x58 not to long ago and its fast as hell but my old overclock q6600 (3.6ghz) is still kicking ass with my x38 ASUS Maximus but that's all soon to go with some thing new in 2010
@IDannyxss I would go with this! Simply because its the cheapest ASUS p55 mobo that supports crossfire/sli (i want sli all the toerh are crossfire) where the slots are running at 8x 8x (and they threw in a 4x great for pysx!!).

I have a question about SLI and CROSSFIRE
IF the mobo will run two cards n 8x 8x that's meaning it will run it as one 16x card
is it ?

Maybe, it says 2000mhz (O.C), it supports 1066/1333/1600 Module... and up to 2133 (O.C)

Why can't all reviews be like this - quick, snappy, to the point and tells you what you want to know - no blagging! 5*

Asus is really great motherboard manufacturer. Most useful is the heat sink and the express gate feature which i admire the most

6 core CPUs will be for X58, but they may not work on current boards. No one knows for sure yet.

Ugh... oh well 4 cores is still good to last another 3 years :)

man asus has like a 100 p55 motherboards its unreal im trying to build a pc for my friend and i don't know what to pick
IDannyxss 2 years ago
Yeah their lineup is REALLY confusing... It took me like 10 minutes off camera to try to figure out all of the differences between this and the EVO.

what's the difference between the "MSI P55-GD80" mobo and the "MSI P55-GD65" mobo other than the 80 version being $100 more...
I'm not an expert with mobo's.
