Hide is my favourite Jrocker :) ever...
despite that I don't think his suicide was accident (noone will ever really know) I think Japanese people have a big sense of respect and wouldn't want people to think he did it on purpose but I only think this because he stated he does get depressed in an interview if he's by himself. I think the quote was "I hate lying in bed awake because I get depressed" on another note Hide was a BIG drinker.

It doesnt take a genius to figure out what happened lol. He was doing an exercise to relieve strain from the guitar while intoxicated, anyone could have seen that going bad.

i brought that up in (several?) videos as well, but not many seemed to have taken note. yea, knowing that he died the way he did, i would have been AT LEAST a little taken back by that comment. funny how no-one seems to have taken notice and kept on insisting it was an accident. the truth is, no-one knows for sure.

I like hide, but alot of people make him out to be a super awesome godlike entity, while he wasn't really that at all
He was good at what he did, but he wasn't anything special.. Though quite a bunch of his songs were really neat. ( for example nearly all of Zilches 321 album )

to me he is super awesome godlike-ish. It's because he had the most perfect sort of music out of all the other artists I ever heard. There is not ONE song I don't like from him , And it makes him my most favorited. :D! Sure not everyone has a opinion the same as me and I still like other groups and artists but when you combine it all together , Hide's music is exactly what it would be. And if he was still alive , I could easily only survive on all of the songs he would make until now. ^w^!

hide was one of the first artists i heard when i was introduced to jrock, and i remember being SORELY disappointed with all the ones i heard after his because he had already set the standard impossibly high.
ppl think i'm crazy for listening to so few artists, but i say, if you already found the best, why would you stray????

i think the reason a lot of people like hide is for the fact that he was really groundbreaking for japanese rock bands, like dir en grey. there wasn't really anyone like him or xjapan before their time. everyone in japan knows who they are and hide is considered the "elvis of japan", from what i've heard.

also, dir en grey were influenced as a whole more by Kuroyume than by hide, at least in their starting phase...
and the most groundbreaking japanese band will always be Yellow Magic Orchestra.

Yeah...He had some pop-ish songs, though this isn't one of them or even near, but I gotta disagree about him sucking.The reason most pop blows, is because the artists, are not true artists.And hide was certainly an artist ^_^ They all went their own ways and did their own stuff when X Japan broke up, and it all was quite different than X Japan, but I loved all of their solo stuff ^_^

He wasn't a god...I was just saying he is good.Though alot of his songs were pop, alot were also far from it.Some even jazz...He was a versatile artist that could do just about any genre.Everyone has different tastes though ^_^.And no, he became a celebrity in the time since the 80's when he was in X Japan as the lead guitarist and helping write several songs, in Zilch, and other bands...Not just in the less than 6 months he lived after they broke up.
