really really enjoyed watching that mate, i learnt allot, i no me and you don't allways seem to see, eye to eye, but that was a fantastic bit of information that i am going to really enjoy doing, not only can i try me first squirrel, but i can make a tobacco pouch to boot, thanks mate, and happy new year hope all is well, take care and stay safe.
You're brilliant, thank you so much for all the information :D I wanna get into squirrel trapping and hope to make a good pouch, and i'm over eager to taste squirrel too, we got millions of them here in Georgia.
Great video mate. I just came across your videos by way of the recommendations. I have heard that aborigionals from the blue mountains over here use the brain method of softening wombat and roo hydes. I will go and watch some of your others now. Cheers.
another great vid ! I have a squirrel skin that was salt cured then rubbed with linseed oil. That skin is now 35 yrs old ! Squirrel makes good leather !
@wolfbushcraft, looks like it was going o.k then thats just what it was like - Spagetti, lol, i ended up chucking it, i'll try it again though, i could have done it the other day because Malc had a rabbit i could have had but i said No, becuase i didn't have time to do it.
There is so much info out there on bushcraft and wilderness hunting. I heard that the hanging skull was the other way around. What ever was still hanging was recently hunted and should not be hunted to allowed them to repopulate. What ever had dropped to the ground had not been hunted for a while and was now fair game.
Yeah brain tanning is a lil much for me lol what happens if u just smoke it? And stretch every 10 mins or so?

Excellent video Grimbo, good top see you back regularly now mate,
I have only tried the Brain method once, but i left it too long i think and the skin went almost see through, lol,
I will definetily try it again though, i still have about 20 rabbit skins and a few squirrel skins that i preserved by drying them out with salt,
Great Video Mate.
