  • ok.. im making one for my class and i want to make one like yours.. if i can. I cut the Styrofoam like yours but i dont know what i kind of motors to get..? and what battery did you use and also can you PM me all your parts because i have no clue what im doing and my project is due next week! i was planning to use a computer case fan but it couldn't lift the foam up so i decided to use motors.. please help me!!

  • @redsoldier123

    Hey there :)

Check out all the comments on my other vid, iv'e answered almost any possible question about my hovercraft.

    Good luck :)

    /watch?v=pnm2h--FOFA

  • can you tell me all the electronic stuff u need to make that???

and where you got the electronic stuff???

    thank u!!

  • good job

  • can you tell me what you used to make the hovercraft at the first part of the vid.

    and how much it cost

  • plzzz tell me how to make one of them can you tell me how much it cost as well if you can im in uk and where you can get them

  • @rooney349

    Hey

    1. ive deleted your other comments, please stop spamming.

    2. Please read through the comments, ive answered a lot of question. The price depends on what electronics you are going to use, since this is the stuff which costs. You need a cheap small servo 8$

a receiver about 18$ and two motors and two speed controlers (ESC) which will be about 40 $

All these prices depends on where you live, try to find them as cheap as poossible :-)

    Good luck

  • how u make skirt

  • @djlolypop I've used an ordinary plastic bag and some tape

  • dude you are rock but if it;s not hard can u help me with plans for rc howercraft thanx ;D

  • @spandzpop1 Hey dude ;D

Send me an email at william.find - gmail. com and we can work something out :)

  • thx

  • what is the thing that turns the hovercraft called and where did you get it.

    reply

  • well, if you mean the "rudder" (that would be the big wooden plate at the rear end of the craft) its just something i cut out myself :)

But if you think about the little red thing, with the rudder on top of it, then you think about the servo. A servo is a small motor, but it does not just rotate as hell, but stops at the angle you want it to stop at.

You can buy it in your local RC shop, just ask the guy at the disk, he will be glad to help you :)

  • @nerdboy19 how can i trim an electric motor?? plzz help me!

  • What do you mean by "trimming" the motor?

  • @nerdboy19 do so it run faster

  • you give the motor more volts ie. battery with higher amount of volt (V) output, but you have to MAKE SURE that your esc can support it, and same for your motor, else.. you will have a lot of fun :D ... -for like 2 minuts and so, and then it will release the hidden smoke trapped in every electronic :O

  • @nerdboy19 thx man =)

  • No problem :)

  • ok awsome thanx again im making the cockpit rite now :)

  • Cool :)

Please go upload a video of the finished project, that would be awesome :D

  • yea but still no matter wat urs is still beter

  • Heh, thanks, but get it build and we'll see :)

  • ok i finished it today butmy servo isnt turning rite now so ill have to get another 1 soon

  • Okay cool :D

    Looking forward to see it

    --

    Nerdboy

  • yea i cant wait till its finished

  • ok im trying to finish my new hovercraft i made its better and as soon as i finish im going to post a vid

  • Cool :)

  • ok thanx for the suggestion ill try to post a video on my hovercraft but no matter what yours is still better mine looks crapy

  • Hehe, no problem =)

But you just gotta build a well working hovercraft, and eksperiment with that. Then when its working properly, you can try make it look a little better, maybe put a "cockpit" on it :)

  • o wow that is awsome i made a rc hovercraft but it only gos foward and we have the same idea but how would i make mine turn

  • Cool :)

Thanks, um, i would suggest putting a servo with some sort of a rudder on your hovercraft?

  • me encantaria hacer el mio

y no se si desarmar un coche rc que tengo!!

veo tu hover y me encanto y veo que responde bien al girar

    te quedo de pelos :D

    buen trabajo!!

  • Hi there, thanks to Google Translate, i think i now understand what you said, since i do not speak.. Spanish? sorry if im wrong :)

"I would love to make one myself

and not disarm a rc car, but have the real equipment.

I see your hovercraft and I was delighted and I see that responds well to rotate

    : D

good job!" So well, thanks a lot :D And youre right, it responses pretty well, and its more easier to make one of actual RC stuff, than using something heavy from a RC car :)

  • Hey! very very good job! :)

  • Hey thanks :D

  • halo...

  • What?

  • Great inventions are created today due to great imagination and your talents. thanks you man.

  • Wow thanks ^^

    Thanks for the comment :D

  • 5/5 i will subscribe :)

  • Oh, thanks :D

Im glad you like it :)

I'm having a little break here on YouTube, but i will get some videos up of my new plane when i get it builded, and probably some pianovideos, among more nerdy stuff :)

  • i looking forward to it : D

  • Yeah ^^

  • try to place the prop in the middle of the hovercraft

  • Well no, cuz then the hovercraft itself will start rotating more, than if the prop is more in front (or in the back) since there is more mass to move... i guess xD But anyway, it does rotate more than if its not-centered... like helicopters starts rotating... :)

  • I'm making a hovercraft its rc but it's the size of a cd! i might add a speaker and mic and cam all linked up to da controller

  • Nice nok william:D

  • Tak man :D

Og tak for at subscribe ;D

*Thx man, and thx for subscribing ;D

  • Have u ever thought of using a pc-fan?

  • Yes I have, and I have tried it, but a Sp400 motor is WAY more powerfull! :D

I would gues you could use a pc fan on smaller ones, but they a quite week, unless you give them a little more volts, but then they dies faster too :/

Have a great and nerdy summer ^^

  • Good choice!!! They're Mabuchi 380PH motors. Going brushless may make it hard to control though. i'm glad to see people have the sense to use Mabuchis, they're the best. You can get'em online pretty cheap. Electronic Goldmine has the 380SH motors for $1.79 right now!

  • wo bekomme ich ein reciver billig her????

  • oh thanks

  • Lol, np ^^

  • hey how many batteries u used and how many volts??

  • 1:32 - 1:37 :)

  • thanks nerdboy !!! appreciate your help.

    call me dumb,but i still don't get u.

1st esc to the 'throttle" slot in the rx

2nd esc to ?????? slot in the same rx

now u know there are so many dumb

    ppl in this world.

can't even sort out my escs, how to post video? hv a good day dude !!!

  • Hey ^^

Ofcourse im not gonna call you dump xD

You will learn as you keep doing it :)

On your Tx you have, lets say 4channels.

Here where im fom, we are using "mode 2" you may be using "mode 1" or 3 or 4 though, what that means is were the different channels are located on your Tx, like your left thump controlls Throttle and rudder and your right one controls ailerons and elevator, that will be on "mode 2" TO BE CONTINIUEDE====>

  • hi,hope u can give me a 'lift' on my soon to be assembled hover craft.since u r having 2 escs and only 1 receiver, how do u fit the 2 esc ends to the receiver?

i'm also having problems with the skirt,

use the material from an umbrella

    happy hovering !!! thanx

  • Hmm, well.

first you take the 1st ESC and plug it into the receiver..... and then you plug the 2nd ESC into the receiver! :D :D :D not that difficult, huh? ;) the thing is that many ppl tends to take the middle lead out of the servocable from the esc to the receiver, you dont have to do that! :)

As for your umbrella skirt, i would think it should work? is it the shape which causes you problems?

Happy hovering to you too ^^

Btw, please upload video wenn you got it to work :)

  • me and my freind are going to make a hovercraft for a school project, but a full size one

I was wondering if you had any tips because if we mess up it is gonna cost us some money so we don't want to make other people's mistakes if we can.

if you get this more than once its because youtube is being silly and won't let me see if I did post this

  • Does this really work? I mean do you get enought air into the skirt? thx

  • Yes it works perfect, try see my other vids :)

    np, Nerdboy19

  • What did you use as a skirt? Also, would it work with a CPU-fan that uses 12V?

  • As skirt i just used a plastic bag which i have cut to work as a skirt, you should be able to figure out how, by whatching the vid... a CPU fan or other pc fans, could work, nut they are TOO slow and TOO heavy-compared to how little power they have... if you realy wanna kick ass with a homemade hovercraft :D you should buy some rc equipment, and some cheapish old brushed speed400 motors, then you can build a hovercraft which will be able to go on grass/water/snow/concrete and so on..... :D

  • Thx, some friends and I are gonna build rc hovercraft as a ninth grade school project. I gotta stick to the budget and will use an old rc car and two or more pc-fans.

  • You're welcome :) An old RC car can realy help you! the more "prof" the car is, (wallmart VS. an rc shop) the better it is, you should try mounting a propeller on the motor which is in the car, it should be something kinda like a speed400 but if you stick to using a pc-fan, you will realy want to keep the weight DOWN :O ! you should be able to make a stearable hovercraft with an rc-car and to (OR ONE) pc fan(s)

  • Good luck with your project! some friends and i is doing projeckt for ninth grade later this year also, so GOOD LUCK :D

Feel free to ask as many questions as you like :)

  • And thanks for your interest and asking, i love answering questions xD :)

  • great, very good

  • Thanks :)

  • hi.....what is the voltage of the esc and what motor did you use...how many esc did u use?

  • Hi :)

The power from the batteri (2S) is going through ((at least one)) both the ESC's and into the motors (two motors), then the ESC's is also providing power for servos and the receiver and whatever you plug into it, apart from the motors, everything gets about 5V

... i used one ESC for each motor, the motors are two Graupner speed 400, or two Permax 400, they are the same just different producents.....thanks for commenting

    -nerdboy19

  • Ok :)

    Then... happy building xD

  • What is a micro reciver?? is it the thing like takes in signals from the control??

    And yea!! Nive video xD

    -Hg

  • Yea it's the "thing that like takes in signals from the control" xD

It's just a very tiny one... aka micro ;)

    Thanks for commenting :)

ohh yes, do you like my new messages, popping up in the video? would be nice with some feedback :)

    -Nerdboy19

  • Ok! nice :P i have: reciver, control, a servo, and a motor (not a fan motor).

And i think making one xD

    -Hg

  • Yea! just remember the ECS between the receiver and the motor, else you should be up and running :D

    -Nerdboy19

  • Whats a "ESC"??

    -Hg

  • Hi, sorry... a "ESC" is an "Electronic Speed Controller"

    -Nerdboy19 :)

  • Ok! must i have one?

  • What? you mean buy one from me? ohhh im using them right now in an other project... you can buy one for just about 30-40$ (200 danish kroners. nearly the same in norway i think)depending on how much current it will take before it says PUFF ;)

I'd like to see some photos and maybe a video :D

  • No! do i need to have one on my hovercraft??

    -Hg

  • You need a Electronic Speed Controller (ESC/Speedctrl/speedcontroller...) between your receiver and your motor, the ESC takes the commands from the receiver and converts them to signals to you motor, your ESC should be conected to your batteri.....

you need a ESC to use a motor on what ever you are building which is controlled by RC, to say it the easy way :)

    -Nerdboy19

  • Im uploading a video and i dont have anny problems with my motor...

    -Hg

  • Ok :)

as long as you don't have eny problems, every thing's allright :)

i think i misunderstood you a little? im sorry about that...

ill see forward to whatch your video :D

  • oh you already have uploaded the video :D

i nearly bet, you have the things to make the body ;) a piece of foam, and a plasticbag...

i didn't knew it was the "equipment" from a rc car, then it could ending up being too heavy, but i'll cross my fingers :)

    happy hovercrafting

  • Yea! you can see it in the control and the button area!! and yea i have the equipment(piece of foam, and plastic-bag). just i don`t had it there xD

    -Hg

  • Hey i just saw that you are from Norway :)

I'm from Denmark... så kan vi jo næsten bare snakke dansk/norsk-norsk/dansk xD

Hvis du får bygget din egen hovercraft, please upload en video af den, if you are building your own, please upload a video :)

    -Nerdboy19

  • this vid rocks!

  • Thanks :)

  • Oh btw Nice name! ;) lol

feel free to ask, if you have some questions...

  • Great! really :)

  • Very nice.

  • thanks :)
