  • what is the link for the rubber spacer? I looked and havent found anything, I think it would be preety sick to do this to my cr-v, and nice vid!

  • In a few days i will show you how i will lift my CR-V here in Mexico. i will change my suspension whith the same original but i will put a diferent base for them, whith 2 inch minimum of lift.

    Videos coming soon.

  • @DENISPANAMA Excellent... looking forward to seeing it. My next step will be to head to a junk yard and see if I can find coil springs with the same diameter but longer height. I figure it's worth a try.

FYI: There is a 1.75inch lift kit on ebay by Old Man Emu if ever you want a brandname solution.

  • @JoeIsOut2lunch

it's done! Tomorow i will make a video to show you how the mecanician lift my CRV. Its an handcraft job. You will be very surprise when you see how he did it.

  • @JoeIsOut2lunch

Check now my videos on youtube.

  • Did you put the Spring spacers on the bottom? Or just slide them into the coils? I think I'm going to do this to my GF's CRV for shits and giggles.

  • @caoboy85 I put the spacers on top of the coil spring on the rear tires... I later put them into the coils as there was rubbing... it didn't seem to help that much. The cause of the rubbing was my tires no longer fit under my wheel wells. As soon as I removed my 1.5inch WHEEL SPACERS all was well. I have yet to remove the SUSPENSION SPACERS that are between my coil springs... I figure I probably only need the ones ON TOP of my coil springs

  • @caoboy85 So in summary:

    4 X BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO Tire = 400$

    4 X Used Rims = 240$

    4 X Spring Spacer Coil = 50$

    ==========================

700$ functional lift on a CRV

NOTE: I still have my front Wheel spacers and eventually hope to lift my CRV in a different method so I can get a full 2 inch+ lift. This would allow me to have the wider stance that I want and not rub in the wheel-wells.

  • Modification Clarifications

    - All details are noted in the description click (more info)

    - Spacers for stance: 1.5 inch wider per side

    - Spacers for height: 1.5 inch high

    - tires: from 195's to 215's BF A/T

    - no engine upgrades

    - 205000KM's

  • To answer some of the questions...

    - engine is stock

    - yes it lacks power sometimes but nothing that gets in the way of going where I need to go

    - the spacers that lift, could be higher but I have yet to find aftermarket coil springs as they were discontinued by most company's. Contemplating having some similar spacers made but 1 inch higher.

    - The side spacers look cool but there is wheel rub when the CRV is full of camping/fishing gear and people and trailer... so I removed the back spacers

  • Just a quick update... it's been a while.

    1. Have had 0 problems with my Honda since I bought it 70000 KM's ago

    2. Have not gotten stuck since my upgraded tires and suspension.

    3. Got my camera stolen but now have an iPhone... new videos soon.

  • @JoeIsOut2lunch

    Great!

  • what kinda lift did u put on it..?

  • It's no V8, but CRV's do serve a purpose.....cheap AWD vehicle for those that need space on a budget and don't want a faggy wagon or POS minivan.

  • I had the choice of getting a new set of winter tires (by law we need to put winter tires that have more grip and are made of much softer rubber) OR we can go for All Terrain Tires.

Instead of getting two sets of tires one for summer and one for winter I got BF Goodrich A/T 215. 215 is two sizes bigger than what my CRV had previously. Hence the lift.

I now have a capable off road vehicle that suits my ice and regular fishing needs.

  • To any haters out there... I unlike you, use logic and aim for functionality.

I am from the north (Canada) and go fishing very often. I have a 12ft aluminum boat that I put on roof racks to go to remote fishing spots on logging roads that can be quite rugged sometimes.

In the winter I go ice fishing, and if you've ever pushed a truck for 2 miles to get to an ice shack you would know. It's not fun.

  • way to lift a chick car pos.

  • @arnoldii2

When did a CR-V became a chick car, yet alone a POS? Especially the 1st-gen. model which is the best compact unibody SUV ever made, and it's a HONDA...

  • @apexdna way to comment on a 10 month old comment. 4 cylinder honda? chick car? I think so.

  • So, you're a comment police?

HONDA's 4-cylinder motors are world renowned for reliability and performance. Chick car? I smell jealousy...

  • yeah, sure.... The only good hondas are the atvs. My truck is more capable and can fit much bigger tires stock for less money. You must be smelling something else.

  • Personal preference aside, but facts are facts... CR-V is not a truck so don't compare to one, it's a compact unibody SUV, and the 1st-gen. happens to be the best in its class, period. If I'd wanted a real truck, I'd get an older TOYOTA...

  • what lift kit did you use, custom, BDS, or Ironman

  • I was going to buy the Ironman but they are discontinued. I only lifted it so I can avoid tire rub. I used rubber spacers to gain 1 inch then inserted another rubber spacer intertwined in the coil springs to stiffen the coil spring.

I have yet to experience tire rub since doing these modifications. Please see my description for links.

  • i was wondering if these spacers you mentions will just slide in, and can you use more than one per coil? also man, where do you buy?

    lift looks good :)

  • y in the name of all thts holy would yall lift a CRV

  • that is so puss.
