@BekiiS19 Are you serious? He took Switzerland to the last 16 of a world cup and lead Inter to a 3rd place finish in the serie A and the 1997 UEFA cup final. The team that won the 98 UEFA cup final was the team he built. I think he is pretty well equipped for this job and its about time the reds had another strong english manager.

People of the famous LFC if ya cant get excited about this after the past year we have had what can we get excited about.Hodgson is by far one of the best ENGLISH managers out there.Harry Redknapp is at his beloved Spurs.Who else would fit the bill.Since 2001 winning the famous cup treble,LFC have gone with the french and spanish and they aint brought that league we all want winning cups.But end of the day u like it or not its happened and me for 1 im behind him 110%.Welcome to ANFIELD Roy YNWA.

Can anybody imagine star player wanting to play for Roy Hodgson? It's seems to slip peoples mind that the only reason Torres came to Liverpool was Benitez. Now that he is gone expect Torres to be gone too along with Masch and Gerrard and maybe few more players. Wish him all the best but I think that we are looking at another 7th place at best.

you're a fool if you think nando will go, masch can leave all he wants, he's too much of a liability with his constant barrage to the ref's, Get 30 mill for him and buy De Rossi. Nando will only leave if we slip even more, he has already said. Roy's a good appointment, and he will stun alot of people, llook how calm and content he is in the interview, rafa never handled himself like that, and he didn't instill such belief either!

Because De Rossi is dying to play in a foreign country for a wager that is 3 times lesser than he could get in Real or Barcelona or Inter or Juventus or Milan or Spurs or City .... And the list goes on. I would love for Woy to prove me wrong but remember that Benitez had to buy his second or third choice players because there were no money and many of the Spanish players were happy to play for him even if money wasn't so good. As for Nando, he is as good as gone.

De Rossi, well, let's be fair, would he rather play alongside aquaman or go for money? If he picked the money that goes to show how shoddy the sport has turned into, not to mention he has already said he would like to play with him again anyway. He wouldnt go to Milan or Juve because he's a roma lad.

@zasotomito Sorry pal don't think you have grasped the situation, Rafa Benetiz and Torres didn't really see eye to eye last season. He took him off when Torres felt he was fully fit, he never bought a player to help him up top. Gerrard also was growing tired of Rafa's strange decisions, it took him 5 and a half years to play 4-4-2, for an English CM this I could imagine would be very frustrating. I love Benitez, he was a great coach and he gave us 5. Time to move on, new and fresh ideas await...

Don't get me wrong, have nothing against Hodgson but reality is that we are not attractive location for a world class players anymore. Or coaches for that matter. And this is not the '70 or '80 when people played for pride and the love of the club. This is money time and we have non. So, wish Roy all the best but not getting my hopes up.
