  • How can you stand there and not get a tree on your head xD

  • Is the Power Line Okay????

  • It's like a big soda fridge. You grab the one in front, and the rest come sliding down, instead of taking it from the back because you know the expiration date is still valid then.

  • hahaha

  • que raro

  • mierda que vaina tan asombrosa

  • Why they were making a video of the empty road in the first place?did they know that a landslide was coming or what?

  • yes i have seen it on television. They knew that this was gona happen

  • Good question, eleanoryk. How did they know this was going to happen? Maybe it's fake? Looks real, though, but then I wouldn't know what to look for to verify its legitimacy.

  • They knew it was going to happen. Just look at the end of the road-it was already blocked off because the land was unstable. Not fake.

  • I just watched thisvid on a show on the discovery channel: heavy rains had caused landslides around and this was a mountain road closed because of the danger. they were just waiting really.

  • it was so silent D:

  • wtf m8! O_o

  • thats not something you see everyday....

  • poor trees :|

  • That's what i thought!

  • OWNED

  • timmmmmberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • "Caution - Tree Xing"

  • fuck that's sick

  • WHAT THE FUCK

  • its not fake but scared

  • holy testicle tuesday batman!!!!

  • scares the shit outta me

  • As long as nobody got hurt, I want to say, "Can I have one of those trees? I need to make a dresser to put clothes in."

  • This is an excellent example of the geologic process of mass wasting, in which soil saturated by rainfall turns into soup which almost pours off the hillside. The lack of video vibration is because there is very little tremor caused by the event. It's regularly anticipated on steep slopes after too much rain; hence the lights--they knew it was coming. This event was recorded, among others, in Japan, but similar events occur globally, including California. Beware hard rain!

  • WOW!

  • Are you kidding.

Nature can create powerful forces that leave man made forces looking like a down filled pillow in the hands of an 8 year girl at a slumber party.

  • Eso no es nada comparado con lo que paso en el año 99 en el edo Vargas de Venezuela.

  • tremendo!! usamos este video en una clase de geologia, jaja

  • poor critters :(

  • Nah the critters are smart enough to know when things like that are going to happen. They get the hell out of dodge.

  • oh shit

  • A LA VERGA!!!!!!

  • Incredible!

  • There were lots of tress, which roots could provide firm soil grip. But somehow, why did this landslide happen? There must have been something built up there. A water treatment pond, maybe?

  • Chu..........!!!!!!!!

  • Überraschen!! 5*

  • coool

  • how and why

  • I watched this in TV news.

    Trees(bamboo) felt down like toys.

  • I told that fat couple not to fuck in them woods.

  • lol

  • ah do not understand what happened

  • weeeeee

  • Poor trees...

  • they dont feel

  • Damn

  • wow! That was cool but had to suck!

  • The trees are moving, kinda reminds me of MacBeth.

  • wow that was bad but the way all those trees slid down was kinda neat

  • strange light? well, it looks like it's night and they have it lit up with floodlights.

  • ok... that was so sudden. and I`m afraid of any kind of natural disaster (thank god where I live we don`t have any), so if I were there I would freak out, than faint, than die of a heart attack probably! that was a joke n¡but really I would PANIC and freak out if I were there

  • that can't be true, prettymuch every place on earth is suseptible to some kind of natural disaster, whether it be drought or floods or storms etc etc

  • Allah'ım bu doğal afetlerden sana sığınırım...

    o neydi yaf... :S

  • How unbearably sad!

  • Well the landslide brought me down

  • WOW

  • whats with the strange light,? just curious

  • This 100% true I saw it on the national news! Incredible!

  • That was fantastic! Good footage.

  • well oxmandixo thats a good question...lol but it was some good footage

  • Why would someone just stand there and videotape this?

  • fuck up america sucks!

  • lame comment...

  • FAKE FAKE FAKE

se nota d aca a la china q es una maqueta jaja, q raro q la camara queda quieta no...

  • whoa, all that watch this video, you should know that living in America makes you really blessed. God Bless Japan, and Everywhere else!

  • all the people that say that the video is fake are very imaginative...

  • heinz, was passiert da? das ist ein bush!

    melig filmpje:P

  • definatly fake.

  • how the hell is it fake smurfsfather

  • landslides like that happens fairly regulary in the mountain in Japan. especially in the rainy season when the ground's loose.

  • its called a landslide, and you can tell when they are about to happen

  • how do you tell if ones about to happen?

  • no f*kin way

  • This video is from a landslide that occured in Nara Prefecture (Japan) back in August 2004.

  • ..creepy o.o

  • What is that thing that comes spiraling down before anything happens? It's at about 6 seconds into the video. On the right near where the road is blocked.

  • Uhm, I'm no expert, but it looks like a leaf.

  • ive seen a longer one with different views. its in japan somewhere i think. but its definatly not fake.

  • they were ready for it; that's why the road is blocked off. that's also why somebody was there filming. probably they are pretty good at detecting certain types of these based on the fact that the face of the hill is sliding off of the effin mountain! others, i'm sure, happen totally unexpectedly.

therefore, it's fake! and so is every other video, for that matter, because i'm not really there to verify that it happened.

  • I don't think it's fake, but it does seem like they were ready for it or perhaps started it intentionally.

  • well that was surreal.. i literally sat here with my mouth agape when it went down.

  • is this real? the telephone poles make it look like a model... i'd love to know.

  • MoebiusStrip you might have seen this clip b4 and it might be one year old to you, but its not even a day old to many of us, so chill. Nice clip weather fake or Real

  • Watch the cable's dangle. You can tell they have some weight, if they were strings the rate at which they swayed would be much faster.

  • If you listen carefully--a second or two before the power lines start sliding--you can hear the wires being pulled taut. It sounds like a series of tapping sounds, but if you over-tightened a guitar's strings it would sound almost the same.

  • Old ass video, saw this landslide on the news a year ago

  • Yep. This one is for reals. The blue screen in the beginning is listing the road. (National Road, route 168). I live in Japan, and I must say that this does not suprise me at all, as this happens with bizarre regularity.

  • ... The lighting is also very unrealistic and studio-like. It certainly doesn't come from the sun. But simulating a landslide with a mock-up for such a low quality movie would really make no sense (though here in Hungary they sometimes do for local soap operas).

  • For the first time it looked such an obvious fake that when I saw these trees falling onto one another it looked so lame that it made me laugh loud. Then I browsed through the comments and that made me think if it's possibly not a fake after all. Anyhow, so far as I know nature's forces I expected some bigger disaster, which wouldn't let a camera stand completely still while it's unleashing it's power. ...

  • u must see the lil flying doohiky.

    what is it?

  • it's just a frigging earthslide, what is there to fake

  • I was expecting maybe someone flying off the cliff, a car coming around the turn and over the baracde, but not anywhere near that.

  • lol muy weno

  • It's not fake. I live in Japan and hear news about land slide like 10 times every year. Some sliding happens by earth quake and some by typhoon (or heavy raining). Many people lose their lives getting caught in these land slide. Either they get their houses crashing on them or their cars getting burried in the dirt while driving. Some get hit directly by rocks. It's a miracle how we've gotten this far.

  • Procker, its called a land slide, go 2 school.

  • your mum goes to college

  • The power lines and poles give it away

  • I thought that the lack of any sky, stars, or clouds gave it away.

  • fake

  • Oh please. It's just so fashionable to call anything a fake. Like you would even know.

  • How do you explain the stillness of the video? If it were handheld, the frame would be all over the place as the person would be moving. A lot. If it were mounted on a stand, the ground would be tremoring pretty violently.

  • This is a fake, there would have been far more dust and more loud *BANG*'s if it were real, the loudest thing i heard was what sounded like the crinkle of plastic.

  • Yeah, alright, it makes sense - they spent hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars and dozens of man-hours making a really low quality video of a landslide in Japan, just so they could post it on YouTube. Right. Yeah. LOL.. Doesn't -anyone- practise critical thinking anymore?

  • its a model.

  • Those two metallic snaps could be something breaking before it really took off. And of course, the video sound also depends on the camera mic.

  • I am a sound engineer. I can say with one hundred percent certainty that there is absolutely no way you can verify the veracity of this video by the audio - given that it is a low quality video, possibly already compressed before the Flash-Video compression that takes place when you upload to youtube. To me everything on youtube sounds like plastic crinkling. Once again, the sound is a poor reference. Try using your common sense instead.

  • Those ents were pissed!

  • Man, those ents were in a godamn hurry.

  • Surreal.

  • holy cow

  • retaining wall pwned

  • lol

  • dan berman had a threesome

  • okay ... MA, the mountain just fell over!!!

  • TTTTIIIMMMMMBBBBBEERRRRRRRRR

  • i'd hit it

  • What the?..

  • lol...only some people get it

  • It's a landslide ppl.

  • It's a model.

  • STFU

  • wow... i thought this vid was going to be lame!

  • it's a model

  • nope its definitley real. god why do people ALWAYS say stuff like this??

  • You'd think they would have done something about the power lines

  • Oh damn, is that what happens when I terraform in SimCity?

  • lol. Perhaps now you'll be more careful. Think of the (sim) children!

  • Haha hey i love those games! =P

I also like disasters so yeah lol

  • Holy shit thats madness

  • its fake guys, this is for a japanese movie you can even see the blue background

  • What blue background? and how would they get the permit to destroy all those trees, that road for just a movie. if that was a set, god it woulda cost a fourtune to set it up with all those trees and all.. it woulda been easier to just Comp Generate it.

  • your a dumbass

  • He's right you know, you can TOTALLY see the wires!

  • Great landslide footage! Thank you for sharing

  • Tu Madre!

  • cool as heck

  • wow thats cool

  • Whatch mother nature's raw force ;)
