@rsalek I'm fine with most of the changes they've made, considering how future=change, however, Spaceship Earth's change is extremely disappointing. They have taken away the most important parts from the ride and replaced it with pretty much nothing. :(
@DJ17Nario - I actually live within 15 minutes of Epcot. With the Jeremy Irons version, SSE was a must every time I was there. Now, not so much. Disney takes away everything good.
Hey Nick! I agree with you..I am a Spaceship earth fanatic.. I would ride alone if necessary...Unfortunately, there are those how find this ride boring not me...
I truly miss the original Music, Narration with Jeremy Irons, Not the same anymore...
@DJ17Nario Don't give up hope! Who knows by some miracle due to a tremendous demand from the public Spaceship Earth may eventually be in rehab to make adjustments to ride.....
For ex. Space Mountain looks great ! i saw the new ride on YouTube and it seems to work for everyone...
TTA Ride is disappointing, Once again the narration was removed to be replaced by something more cartoon and less futuristic...
@DJ17Nario They ruined the World of Motion and Horizon! Disney forgets the people that come to EPCOT really do not care about thrill rides. We fall in love with Disney because it brings back memories of our childhood. They need to make a theme park of all the old rides as a tribute to the once past but not forgotten.
@TheProduction101 Horizon looked like a neat ride, but I'm also fine with the Mission: Space that replaced it. As for World of Motion, it wasn't very different from Spaceship Earth, covering almost the identical time periods. With that, I'm fine with the Test Track that replaced it.
Still, though, I much prefer the old ending of Spaceship Earth. It wasn't outdated, it was still relevant, and it was definitely more realistic than the new Jetsons ending that the ride now has. Newer =/= better.
No offense to the very awesome Jeremy Irons version, but seriously the best version will always be the Cronkite's. I haven't seen/heard the new one though and from what you say the changes certainly do sound like they're for the worse. In fact in general I've been disappointed with the move away from sci-fi, futurism and science in the park.
@wolfmage75 Thank you for the feedback. I will be going again in less than a week for my annual family trip to WDW, and unfortunately, I won't be riding the ride this trip. Spaceship Earth has been ruined, and I see no reason to go back on until it's been changed again. They did it to themselves: they temporarily lost a customer.
@DJ17Nario We used to make those yearly trips. Its been a while though, but I was hoping to go back for the first time as an adult soon. All I can say is keep up the hope. Time flows only in one direction, and while the Cronkite version was great, so was the Irons. It'll change again, and maybe next time it'll have a superior vision behind it. Got my fingers crossed.
@wolfmage75 Thank you for the kind words. I hope you are right, and that the Jetsons Tunnel will be removed soon. I have never been this moved by a change at Disney World before. I mean, I was sad when they got rid of Alien Encounter, but at least they still made use of the seats and dark setting for Stitch. Spaceship Earth, though, was ruined, and as you can tell from this video, I was absolutely devastated, and I still am, because Spaceship Earth now doesn't promise a bright future.
I am not justifying the changes but the ending is being built up more and more. The ending has new lighting like a surrounding fiber optic star field, glowing triangles above and the curtains are still up. Not only Spaceship Earth is suffering.
Agreed. Every time I went on the original. I was moved to tears-inspired by artistic visuals-to this day, that score makes me cry even now. Now it is uninspired and shoehorned and ANNNNNOYING. I never really realized how beautiful the original was till it was already gone.
The ending of the real Spaceship Earth was truly awe-inspiring and made me hope for a better future. Now the ride has been ruined and there isn't anything we can do about it. :(
Well, that's all assuming that you would die before me, AND if I were in good enough health to make the video.
But, of course, that's a morbid thought and is probably a taboo, so I probably won't dwell on it. :P
But, yeah, I would if all the cards were played in the right order... but why must they all be played? Oh, that's right, it's in the rules of life. We can't break those, can we?
If that were the case, I'd like to know why it's been open in this abysmal state for a year and a half now. I'm pretty much scarred by my experience of the new ride, and it should've never been opened if it wasn't finished.
Here's hoping that dark, black tunnel and the Jetsons episode is scrapped for a new, intellectually-stimulating future, surrounding the viewer with physical props instead of nothing.

We are fomenting rebellion.... -- here is what we may do:
first, print out, headsized, a photo of Jeremy Irons' face(for example, the shot at tinyurl com 83lxdzt ...
take it with you on to Spaceship Earth...
hold it in front of your face when they take your photo for the silly animated stuff later...
Jeremy Irons masks , the Guy Fawkes masks of Spaceship Earth :)

@Motherboard46 Thank you for also missing the TRUE Spaceship Earth.
The new ending is terrible. I can't believe Disney would ruin a ride that wasn't broken.

I hate the new ending, it seems like they wanted to be cheap and just fill the space.. Very disappointing.
