  • @AdventuresWithDad Cheers Den, the run thing just sprang up impromptu, there's muscle memory for you - doing something connected to a place LoL...hope your eldest kept up with me :-) As you know the lactic thresh hold will get longer as you progress, keep it up m8 then have a well deserved couch chill :-) Comp's still a bit temperamental :-/ Yes gr8 areas near me with a lot of historical vibes. Tell your crew there'll be a bit more history/big views soon. The best to you guys! Cheers buddy!!

  • good vid pete, ah the vagaries of technology

  • @mazadan Cheers Pete, it's no wonder the likes of us have the need to commune with the wild, considering the load bearing of techno stuff in this so called modern progressive age. I know what I prefer :-))

  • Hi Pete,

    very beautiful and mysterious area.

    Your videos are always interesting.

    Thanks for the timetravel. ;-)

All the best and take care my friend

    Best regards

    Pete

  • Nice to see you again, very nice place Pete, were about is this, and were you from ?

  • @danwormald Site is Calleva/Silchester - sth England. London born and bred, now live in Hampshire. Thanks for the likeing :-)

  • Beautiful place Pete Hope your computer problems get sorted. For me when it comes to computer problems its usually the biological interface that has the problem

    Nate

  • @CdnLifeguard71 Yes Nate it's a great place.

For me the sollution to computer probs and frustrations is letting the thing take flight and jetisoning it out of the office window LoL :-) Getting the RAM sorted so should be reasonable working soon. Cheers.

  • :))

    that was pretty good.

to be honest i like the unedited stuff more. the edited stuff makes me feel i am missing out on something.

  • @SpartanJohns I know what you mean, mind you editing is handy now and then to save time so vids or info' doesn't get too boring. A prime example is the vid of my canoe repair needs to be edited so it explains everything. Thanks for the like, will do indepth info' of ancient site soon. Cheers :-)

  • Very interesting info. on the history of this area. Thank You, Pete keep up the good work!

  • @jolietjake1970 Thanks G, will be doing more indepth interesting trek/hike/history of the site soon. Cheers buddy.

  • Nice one Pete I'm knackered just watching that ! Lol nice to see you fit and well give the dog a bone for me.

  • @38MarcW Thanks for the feedback m8, dog's gone out and burried the bone now LoL. Cheers

  • The history of Britain is just incredible. Most don't realize how it was conquered, re-conquered, and formed through blood and warfare from the beginning of recorded time. The Romans were just a fascinating, impressive, in some ways cruel, in some ways amazing power. Great video. Thank you!

  • @enjoythewildUSA Thanks very much for the comment! Ironically the Romans still control some of the world so to speak via the Vatican and Catholisism, so they continue in a way :-) They certainly left some real interesting historical sites which continue to be discovered. All the best :-)

  • Hey Pete.

Thanks once again for a great video. You are helping to encourage so many of us to get outdoors... Camping...Trekking...paddling... Getting healthier and enjoying life more.

Thank you for all that you do. Keep up the good work.

    Greg

  • @gbrown6283 Hey Greg thanks for the comment and appreciation! As always - "Be out there and be safe" my friend. All the best

  • Comment removed

  • @jahhmin I did not remove

  • @MINDWISEMAN Haha I know, my mistake. I called you Paul instead of Pete and removed it myself. Great vid and thanks for sharing btw.

  • @jahhmin No probs m8, would want people to know if & why I were to delete comment. Thanks for likeing. Cheers :-)

  • Thanks for sharing Pete, I look forward to the history video of the wall and the area. I like stuff like that, I try to imagine what it must have looked like back then. Take Care :-))

  • @SurviveN2 Cheers buddy, will be doing full view and trek/hike vid around the whole site in near future. All the best.

  • I can't wait to hear your video on the Roman settlement that was there! If I lived in Britain I would spend all my spare time going from place to place and exploring things just like that. I was there once thirty plus years ago and got to see a little of Scotland but not near enough. There is so much history to be seen it would take a couple of lifetimes.

  • @Nebulax123 You a so right about not enough time to explore ancient places of interest. Scotland has some natural wild places of interest. I will be trekking around the whole boundary wall, including in the vid many different parts to the site, structures/building history etc. I may be able to review the part that continues to be excavated by archaeologists. Cheers.

  • Thanks for the VDO ...cool place ...I like the shades you're wearing ...very Gangsta ; )

  • @brgzz Glad you liked it.

That ol' sun was certainly speading its bright rays on me :-) If it weren't for the shades I'd have been squinting like as if I had constipation LoL. :-))))

  • Run with you? I almost started to but you didn't say "Simon says." : D LOL's...

Wow, beautiful place to live and train and recharge your batteries in Pete. I know how you feel with the computer problems, if it's not one thing it's another.. Still, it's great to see you and I'm patient.. : )

  • @saradreaming Ha ha "Simon says".... right I'll defoe remember that for next time :-)))) maybe a few martial arts moves thrown in as well LoL. Yes I really appreciate having these sort of places near by. This video day I stayed at the amphitheatre until it got dark, watching the sun go down, listening to acorns falling from oak trees and evening bird song. It was so uplifting. Thanks for your interest and patience Sara :-)

    Cheers

  • Nice one Pete! Nice to hear from you mate, looking cool in the shades too! LoL. I am sure computers are programmed to slow down and cause probs after a few years, so we all have to go out and buy new ones! Mmm!. Cheers Pete. Paul :-)

  • @007vauxhall Heyup Paul, if my shades were any bigger they'd of been covering my whole face LoL. I think you've hit a nail on the head there m8, computers amongst other things with built in obsoletion so we HAVE to get new things or parts when they shouldn't really be needed :-/

Starting to get laptop sorted, bit of RAM memory problems as well. Cheers buddy!

  • WARNING..... history geek moment.......

There are no Roman site's in Britain older than 2050 years, they will be Caesar's marching camp's.

    Geek moment over.

Loving the vid's ..keep em coming

  • @PaulDeFitter Site pre dates Roman by over 1000yrs =Celtic/tribal Britain. Was a fully functioning Roman town -Calleva Artebatum & not just centurion encampment, with links to Winchester & Londinium & had political control covering southern Britain. There were other emporium residential sites within 10 mile radius to this fortified town. It's the most excavated Roman site (early 1900s with even more unexpected discoveries recently) & contiunes to be so by Reading University. Cheers! :-)

  • Cool video, thanks for sharing the adventure and memories. If that wall could talk, the stories it could tell. Too bad you are having problems with your computer, hope it all staightens out for you soon. Take care and have a great day.

  • @ewtoutdoors Yes you're right about talking walls :-) The whole area could tell a story or 2 dating back to pre history....if only lol. All the best - Cheers!

  • Great little adventure - thanks for taking us along, and for your update! Very inspirational - Cheers -

  • @hazeywolf Thanks very much for the feedback :-)

  • Pete,

Sorry to here about movie maker. I ditched it a few months back because of probs. Now use free software called videopad download of the net and works great.

All the best and hope you soon get the editing sorted.

    Sandy

  • @g0vqw Heyup Sandy, yes I think I may sort another video programme. A main contributor to the probs is the RAM - memory on the laptop. My IT m8 is gona try and sort it soon. Cheers buddy.

  • Amazing place, thanks for showing and giving all the info. Well, good luck then with the editing software - and we'll see you soon hopefully!

    Greetings, Tim

  • @steintanz Thanks Tim, hopefully get things sorted soon. Take care m8. Cheers :-)

  • Thanks for the video. Your channel is fantastic, I really enjoy your outdoor adventures.

I took my canoe out this morning (a sevylor as inspired by you), had a good paddle and made the most of the nice weather!

  • Wish you luck with your future videos. I thoroughly enjoy all your videos. As a full time Grad student I don't have the time to get outdoors right now but on breaks from studying I watch your new videos and I feel almost as if I were there.

    Thank you so much!

    Roy

  • @snappydog357 Thanks for the feedback Roy, it's good to know you get the "being there" vibes when you watch my stuff. No doubt in the near future you'll be able to get outdoors in real time, something to look forward to m8. All the best with ya studies!

Thanks for taking us along and thanks for the history lesson .Keep on doing what you do bro looking forward to more adventures of MAVERICK OUTDOORS!!!! till then be safe my friend best wishes.............Nick

  • @WhitetailBushcraft Yes I know, it's quite unique to have places like that near to where you live or easy to get to. Gona camp out at the amphitheatre when I get my wilding it bike repaired so I don't have to worry about leaving the car somewhere conspicuous overnight, another maverick adventure in the pipeline ;-) Thanks as always for your interest buddy, all the big best to you & yours!

  • I was out in my canoe yesterday Pete as the weather in Scotland was nice for once, have to tried YouTubes own video editor? it's not great but it works, keep up the great work and we look forward to your next adventure.
