  • At that location there used to be a juntion of 3 railroads.

The C&NW(now UP),EJ&E(soon to be CN) and Burlington(BN/BNSF) all came together there.

At 0:02 you can see some white houses and a cul de sac in the back ground , the CB&Q branch line from Eola ran between the cul de sac and the homes and joined the CNW a couple hundred yards to the left.

With the CNW/UP and BN/SF mergers the junction was no longer needed for transfer runs so BNSF cut the line back two blocks west some time in 01.

  • wow this looks like such a cool spot!

how many does this spot see?

and what are the tracks the train is crossing?

  • West Chiacgo is a great spot! to see UP... The Union Pacific, including Metra, sees over 100 trains a day, the EJ&E sees more than 11, but the old FRA says 11. There is maybe 1 BNSF coal a day now. only 4 of those 11 how ever are actual EJ&E trains.

  • how do u download videos to yt if there that old?

  • My dad's girlfriend rented a VHS/DVD thingy, so I am also recording some of my vids, and putting them on the computer.
