  • Not sure what is scarier...the tornado or meeting that tractor trailor at the beginning of the video.

  • If you dress up like a cow... the tornado won't hurt you.

  • To those who keep commenting "what the fuck is a landspout", a landspout is similar to a tornado, but it forms from the ground and up underneath a supercell and forms a funnel from the bottom. it's like an upside down tornado in a way. Wanna see a good landspout, look up "Amazing Kansas Tornado Footage" unedited.

  • How's a land spout different from a regular tornado?

  • @3333sweetie what the fuck is a land spout? i thought there was just water spouts

  • @OptimusPrime571 tornado over land. There are MANY different types of tornadoes. Also, heard of dust devils?

  • was that a spin off from the tornado or a dust devil from all the winds...?

  • I live in Independence Kansas, about 10 miles from Greensburg, which is destroyed now. But holy crap that's pretty bad.

  • the tornado just wants a hug.

  • Drivin in a winter wonder land.... In the meadow we could build a...... HOLY SHIT!

  • I think this is cool and interesting.

  • its amazing how they go from f2 to f5 within in a few mins and then dissipate

  • @Boomami07

    They were not F5.

There were landspouts and gustnadoes, which typically are weak.

  • @dragonridley OH ok. Well thanks. Im still learning myself about these stroms because its wat i go to school for.

  • Sounds sexy..

  • Mother Nature at it's best <3

  • Does tornadoes come in houston?

  • yea, they bes come to Houston

  • @yugiohspellcaster

it depends. but i think its too near the coast for dry air to pass there

  • @TheEliminator1992

Tornadoes are possible anywhere that severe thunderstorms are possible

  • @dragonridley

yes i know that. its just that the only type of severe weather by coasts i can think of are either hurricanes or waterspouts. not the type that Tornado Alley recieves, like hail storms, microbursts or severe tornadoes

  • @TheEliminator1992

Well for one thing it is not uncommon for tornadoes to form from supercells on the outer fringes of hurricanes. In 2002 an F4 tornado tore through Maryland before moving onto Chesapeake Bay.

In 1985 my own county on the coast of Lake Erie was struck by two F4 tornadoes.

  • duude does the tornado come directly towards the car at the end?!?!?! cuz thats what it looks like

  • i think f5 is cool

  • @cookyd61

That would be interesting to see but I don't want one tearing through my neighborhood

  • i agree with you, i wouldnt mind seeing one but i dont wanna have to take cover for one

  • I Love Storms!

    Mother Nature Is Amazing!

Where Would We Be With No Rain, Why We'd Be Dead Wouldnt We?

  • we dont have tornadoes here too bad... i want to run towards a tornado..

  • they're so beautiful...and so deadly...tornadoes are appearing everywhere this year, cause here in Argentina we had an EF4 that killed ten people...our most powerfull tornado in almost 40 years!!!

but, back to the video, awesome phootage!!! 5/5

  • Sweet tornado

  • why even tho there dagerous they are buttfile

  • tornados r just reactions on specific weather. and that kind of weather will ever exist lol

  • except in Kansas

  • tornadoes are beutiful

  • When someone thinks of storms they only see the bad in them, and yes they can be very bad,but they are also very cool if they do no damage, its cool to watch them form .

  • there are not as many tornadoes in the winter months, but it is a common occurance to have a few in the fall and winter months. It will usually be somewhere in the SE United States. As a matter of fact, tornado occurrance has a second but not as a severe peak in the month of November. It's looked at as a type of "mild tornado season" for this time of the year. Even though a mild season, the tornadoes seem more times than not, to be strong to violent tornadoes. 1988 nov 28 raleigh N.C. F4 torn80

  • yup i remember this day closest tornado we've almost had in about 20yrs...

  • God hates Kansas

  • True that

  • cool vid i watched this tornado in my backyard haha not even joking im from garden city ruined are sprinkles in the fields dont beleive me not kiding look in the background in 149 thats them no joke

  • wait a sec. WTF, Is that snow and ice on the ground and Tornados in the same day. I am not from the mid west but I will be moving there is late AUG 2009.

  • No. It's not snow and ice. The storm system that produced this tornado had a strong hail core. What you're seeing on the ground is large amounts of hail.

  • it was all the hail i thought it was snow too you not alone and being in those sucker are like ... i dont know what i coul compare it to but its scary

  • Wow, unbelievable! The one to the left near the beginning of the video almost looks like it was braided into existence. Thanks for the post!

  • Beautiful! o_O I LOVE MULTIPLE VORTICES! THANKS FOR THE POSTING. CHEERS!

  • yea it does kinda only look like a f1 or f2

  • Verne Carlson , we will meet up in the field one day PROMISE YOU THAT , im getting my gear and crew together and we will see you out there !

  • its seems like i could just stand in it and it would be like super windy and dusty, after all, it only looks like an f1

  • it`s better to chase a storm, instead of being chased by a storm

  • That is really amazing work. Thank you!

    .

  • It's hail man...lots of hail.

  • you are right , you should have seen Parker CO , where a tornado started the other day , it looked like it snowed 4 in but it was all hail in the matter of about 5 mins

  • Hey, it's anticyclonic!

  • A rock could bash your face in though

  • @papichulobumber1 not if you hide

  • @papichulobumber1 GRASS would rip throug your flesh like bullets :O

  • if you kinda look at the one shot really closely, it looks like the great bend footage.

  • 1:24 is really cool!

  • WOW!

  • awesome!

  • I've been thinking that actually. Said something to warn them. They know what they're doing but half the time that's the problem. To confident. More curiosity. Hope they don't loose perspective. Coroner would never release it either, and I wouldn't want to watch. Too sad!! (We love em for what they bring and the fascination they willingly share)

  • WOW look at all that hail, it looks like snow on the road!

  • that was hail!

  • wow, its rare to see them spin that way! great shot!

  • nice

  • isnt it scary filming these

  • Good Luck with that =)

  • haha thanks it gonna take a while only

    13:(

  • maybe about 7 years ;)

  • man your vids rule but i dont want u to die so beeeeeeeeeee careful! cheez

  • You can see those dust devils in the New Mexico desert (I-10 near AZ line) on any clear summer day.

  • awesome

  • Wow, that sounds like it's really loud, like you can really hear that low-frequency roar. Scary.

  • lol he ran strat trow it in the end rofl might as well be a dust devel

  • Wow nice tornado im from there whern that wasd happening

  • looks like a gustnado to me

  • What is the difference between a regular tornado and a gustnado?

  • Well, if the video is any indication, gustnadoes appear to rotate much more slowly than tornadoes. Slower wind speeds mean less damage (if any) caused.

  • I saw it LIVE on the internet! technology nowadays... ;)

  • so did i and i recorded it too lol

  • damn that was intense how does a gustnadoes form?

  • That shit aint no joke.

    damn

  • I remember this day! Early in the day it was sunny and then around six or seven the skys started to get dark and then the tornado alarms went off. Nobody was hurt though

  • scary

  • theres dust devils bigger than this..

  • its increible!!!

  • wouw..amazing video!

  • i watched this on the live tracker when it happenned

  • Geez, what the hell were you riding in a tractor O_o?

  • ive always wondered....has there ever been a snow white tornado?

there has been thunder heard with snow on the ground, so ive always wondered if it has gone as far as a twister twirling on the ground with snow as well. that would be unreal!! keep up the videos!

come to u from san diego!!! :)

  • Yes, they are called "snownadoes" and are very rare, the equivalent of tornadoes and not of dust devils, i mean they form from the clouds

  • nice

    thanks

  • Little cute tornadoes! they would be fun to go into

  • What's a landspout?

  • basically, a tornado that develops from an non-supercell thunderstorm. hope this helps!

  • Cute gustnado

  • yeah just a gustnado drive thru lol

  • Ehhhhhh why'd they point the camera away at the end??

  • nice vid guys keep it up =)

  • thats cool

  • One thing to me about living in Wellington Kansas... There's always something to look at!:P

  • did he just drive into that tornado?

  • it was a gustnado you can tell by how weak it is!

  • No, it was a tornado, you should see some of the damage that it did before you say what it is based on how weak you say it is...

  • there was multiple vorticies

  • well if they were tornadoes they must of all been in the EF0 range

  • not that huge one.

  • well its still whirling winds...which i'm sure you'd want to avoid driving through... they still look pretty strong for a gustnado

  • awesome video verne carlson and very large hail garden city ks

  • 1:05 was that an f1 or an f2?

  • looks like an f2

  • nice

  • O.o Nice video!

  • ugh, i was hit in the head again with Nickle Sized hail...lol this time i was walking in the rain to the store and omg...it just came out of nowhere xD
