  • Very nice bug and interesting video.

  • You built my bug! I wouldn't change a thing about that car. The colour, interior, wheels and stance are exactly what I see in my head when I think of the perfect bug. Well done. One day I'll build a bug like yours!

  • @squareyes1981 - WOW, thanx a lot. I love this car, its been a lot of fun. Now it has a built 1915 and is even more fun then before...... Hope you build your bug one day...

  • Amazing!

  • @MrChristianzon - Thank you.....

  • I love your bug, I have a 66 almost the same colour, I painted it about 10 years ago. Take it easy and thank you for a very cool video

  • @skippylog - Hey, thanx a lot. Wish it was still summer, miss driving it.

  • real nice car!!!

  • @TheMattwill97 - Thanx a lot.......

  • Gorgeous!

  • @renragged - Thanks a lot :-)

  • Beautifull job man. What is the type of silver insulation you used in the interior?

  • @koolbossjock - Thanx, its a great car and a lot of fun, especially since I put in the new 1915 this year. The sound mat is by Fat Mat, kinda like Dynamat. Helps sound proof the car. Glad I did it.

  • Felicitaciones esta super bonito :D!!!, tienes una maquina unica ;)

  • what was the total cost- the car is impecible

  • @mikethenascarfan - Not sure about the final cost, but would have to guess (with a new 1915 motor this year) somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-18k. Thanx......

  • @66GreenBug holy god- that much?

  • washington

    i live in oregon

    northwest FTW!!!

  • sweet man, how long did it take and how much did it cost?

  • what was the total cost?

  • this is gonna be my first car

  • awesome dude!!! ... beautyfull job!!! .. congratulations!!! and thanks!!!

  • Xlnt workmanship bro! Sick job!

  • This is the most incredible restoration I've seen so far. This Bug is perfect! Even better than when it rolled out of the factory I'm sure. THe video and the music choices, also amazing, moving even. Great Job!

  • @XArmoredRahX - Hey thanx man.... It is so much more fun now that the 1915 motor is installed. Gets up and goes gooooood.....

  • @XArmoredRahX - Hey thanx man.... It is so much more fun now that the 1915 motor is installed. Gets up and goes gooooood.....

  • @66GreenBug - Its a fun car, the new 1915 makes it even more fun. Great burn offs.......

  • great job! I have a 73 and looking for a 67 or older. Just classy lines and that metal dash.

  • @woodlandcammo27 - You got that right..... Love the older bugs....

  • @66GreenBug Think I will be getting a 67 this weekend. $1,400 and in 80% condition. Will be changing the paint and some other things. When I get it and go to work I may hit you up for tips. Esecially painting the interior.

  • @woodlandcammo27 Congrat's on the Bug if you got it! I got my 68 two days ago!! 90% Restored! SO EXCITING

  • good job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @pecas20101 - Thanx a lot :-)

  • @66GreenBug seats are leather?

  • phenomenal job...the body work is so nice but my hat goes off to you on the interior...particularly the headliner-I mean WOW, nice job...

    someday...

  • @oceancity724 - Thanx a lot. The car is a lot of fun and with the new built 1915 it rocks also :-)

  • looks like you have some positive camber going on the rear right wheel, did you fix this?

  • @Thesuperdrummer93 - both wheels are set the same. the earlier pics are without the motor. The later pics are after the rear was lowered. There is a little camber in both wheels, the price you pay to lower a car. My car sets perfect for me and drives awesome. The new 1915 is a blast with plenty of power.

  • @66GreenBug awsome job anyways, incredible car, i have a super bug i have almost finished but it wont ever be to the standard yours . Absolutly immaculate. In australia parts are hard to find are are expensive when you do find them sadly.

  • How long did it take you to do this? You are so lucky the pans were in great shape. I'm looking to get one in the near future and do a full restore myself. I loved my dads 69, and now I have bug fever myself.

  • @lboftheyear - It took me about 20-months to do the entire restore. I did all the work myself. The pans were in good shape, had to replace the front driver pan quarter, but everything else was good. Just installed a 1915 motor and it runs great. Thanx.....

  • Great job on the Bug thanks for the inspiration. I love that Java Green!! If my 73 turns out half as good, it will be a great car.

  • where did you buy the interior? how much for? what is the code?

great looking bug, i have the same color myself ;) just got it this week :D

  • @aloano - I bought the interior from Wolfsburg West. I do not remember the price but you can go to their website and it lists all the pricing. Thanx for the comment, as of yesterday I got my 1915 motor installed. Hope to be able to drive it again any day now. Congratulations on your new bug, that is awesome and Java Green is a great color :-)

  • @66GreenBug

ah lucky you, the 1300 engine makes me say WOW real loud... after driving my bug, i will drive my eclipse and i feel my eclipse is like lambo compared to the bug haha. summer is coming, enjoy your buggy :) and thanks for the info

  • Great Job- It is set up so nice. If you change the engine out -keep you old one and do not sell any org. parts. Hang on to everything. Having org.parts with your bug is like money in the bank- only better. I wish it was my bug. Great color

  • @woodweezel - Thanx. If everything goes well, I should be installing the 1915 this weekend. The existing motor will go into my 63'. The 63's motor is the original motor to the car with matching numbers. So this motor will be saved in case I ever sell the 63. Got the birth certificate for both my cars from Germany, and this confirmed the the motor number on the 63.

My 66' is a great car and I really enjoy it. The color is Java Green and is the original color. Looking forward to the bigger motor

  • @VolkswagenTube - Thanx, just installed the pro/street transmission and the 1915 may go in this weekend. Looking forward to some power :-)

  • Sorry, Entschuldigung! Foto bei 8:25 müßt es heißen!

  • @WernerRobin - Translation -- Sorry, sorry! Photo at 8:25 must read!

  • Sehr interessant das Foto bei 9:24. Es zeigt das Nachfolgermodell VW 1300 bzw. 1500 (hellblau). welches ab 01.08.1966 gebaut wurde. 1300 ccm: 40 PS, 1500 ccm: 44 PS. Bemerkenswert ist die hintere amerikanische Bügelstoßstange. Da gab es nämlich auch mehrere Varianten!

  • @WernerRobin - Translation -- Very interesting is the photo at 9:24. It shows the successor model VW 1300 and 1500 (light blue). which was constructed on 01/08/1966. 1300 cc 40 hp, 1500 cc 44 hp. Note the rear bumper bar American. Since there were several variants namely!

  • @kakaphotos - Thanks a lot. I am sure yours is real nice also.

  • Who supplied the interior?!!!!

  • @Redcoat66 - Most all of my interior came from Wolsfburg West.

  • Great work dude!!!! I got a 72 GT bug, which needs the same treatment.

  • @Redcoat66 - Thanx man, It was a lot of fun and very frustrating at times.

  • beautiful.

  • wow dude.i envy your bug.what's the color spec/code?

  • @kumbangtua Hey thanx man. I now also own a 63 that I am working on. It will be more of a NICE driver. The color of my 66' is Java Green (L518). Take care :-)

  • whats with the transformers foil stuff?

  • @mowie1236 It's called Fat Mat. It's a sound deadening material. Helps with road noise, engine noise and heat. I am glad I did it. I would do it again in a heart beat. Well worth it. Makes the doors sound solid when you close them.

  • Woow man. This is magic. Gr8 work. I love this car. Regards.

  • @drupi77, Thanx man. It's a lot of fun. Can't wait to do the next one :-)
