  • to the placenta stains guy u use club soda and lime juice

  • I wasn't going to comment on this because I just came to listen to the song, but then I saw the video surrounded by Rihanna and on the side some Jessie J song that has almost 200,000,000 and this has only 6,000,000 views....? What the fuck happened. Where exactly did we go wrong because THIS. This is music.

  • @CatsAreFloppy That was weird, i noticed and thought the EXACT same thing then read the first comment and was like "i just got mind fucked". Good to know other people think like me, proves im not insane.

  • I absolutly love this song :) its amazing.... i just can never listen to it out load coz my mom start crying... :/ she says it reminds her of when she lost her baby ... :/

  • whats this song about anyways , ha it sounds sad

  • @FaayeLu as far as i have ever been able to make out, simply the cycle of life, a new life comming into the world, and an old one passing on. still, it's a beautiful song, whatever the meaning.

  • @FaayeLu its about the cycle of death and birth its sad but happy at the same time

  • I CAN FEEL IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pink sucks. Live rocks. I dislike pink a lot. She sang a song about getting f**ked while she was pregnant on TV for some music awards. Great example for people huh? Her music makes me want to shove pencils in my ears.

  • @ThePhysherMan you make me wanna stick a hot poke-a through my ear! -the pest-

  • 15 years old I was man the memory's

  • great song but a weird video.

  • bravo siempre

  • ESTO SI ES BUENA MUSICA!!!!!

  • to the dislikers,

    Look at the dislike bar,

    Now look in your pants,

    not much difference, eh?

  • I miss the 90's too but look at copyright ...2004 ... facepalm

  • @swagforyou song was released in 95 though wasn't it....it's way too awesome not to be a 90's song

  • such a sad song

  • when i first seen this music video i cried, 4 weeks before this song came out my friends wife dead while giving birth, about 2 months later on he heard this song and said i be damn they got a song for ever thing.

  • What happened to music....song still haunts me.

  • I hope Live is aware of the fact that they created a masterpiece

  • i miss good musicians, what kind of crap musicians have surfaced since 2 the year 2000 is unbelievable

  • Under the related artist tab on my phone it says Lady Gaga... Since when is Lady Gaga anything like this amazing music??? I love Lady Gaga but seriously??? Lady Gaga's music sounds nothing like this!!!

  • the best 90s

  • nichemeerkat: Samsara? Are you fucking kidding me? When I wasn't fighting Islamic terrorists, I spent another 10 years of my career in the Orient, and I know more than your touchy-feely college bullshit; real Oriental Buddhists revere countless sects & prophets, and some are decent, some are ludicrous, some charlatans who rip people off, some cliques of decent monks trying to do good, but overall it's bullshit, and most educated Orientals are atheists, and very happy being so.

  • @crazyxmarine the only terrorists is the CIA in the CFR

  • Technically, the band dedicated this to Barbara Lewis, one of their friends who was killed by a drunk driver. The songs lyrics are mostly an analogy. These lyrics are constantly misunderstood! Yes, Ed is speaking to the circle of life, but specifically to how Barb's life gave new life to many. The angel, the baby down the hall, the pale blue eyes (of Barb), the pain ("confusion")... the lyrics are wholly Ed's interpretation of his experience and perception of Barb's impact.

  • @KNAOTIS ed did not write this song, some other guy did

  • i heard this song for the first time right after my mother just had passed away.. i was crushed.. but truly belive that this song helped me to carry on.. thanks ed!!!

  • i can listen to this all afternoon long.

  • Three different explanations of this song's meaning just on the first page of comments, and they're all wrong. The lead singer wrote it, and he's told the world what it's about. It's a song about life and death, and how both happen so frequently.

  • @jtmcgilbery yeppers

  • I love how Tyga, or lil wayne has over 50,000,000 views on there videos and they say the same Shit over and over again. WHAT HAS COME TO THIS WORLD, everyone dresses and acts as not who they really are... people, kids even at my school wear hollister and say i smoke weed, just to be cool i hate it. they do it to be cool but there not even thereselves. and listen to junky rap music that means NOTHING at all. I hope 2012, the end of the world really does happen because life is just a COPY n PASTE.

  • @gratefuldid dang, u pretty much summed it up! ha :P

  • One of my fave bands of all times! Seriously miss music like this.

  • Justin Bieber > Live.. hate all you want h4t3rz!!

  • @GoPensGo377 Who's Justin Bieber, and does any one actually care?

  • @GoPensGo377 attention whore

  • Perfect song just amazing love the album deeply :):):) something i couldnt live without . . .

  • Great song.. playing a show with this guy tomorrow. Reminds me of being a kid.. Gonna be a sobering experience playing with a person you grew up listening to on the radio!

  • I'm going to the bathroom, when i come back this'd better be a top comment

  • @Meridian740 Either you are still on the toilet after 22 hours or you sir just failed... miserably

  • @Dimesbagg Can i ask were the hell did you guys come up with its a fail. That is some wacked out shit..It is a fail..Sounds like something a machine would say??We are not machines..Peace and have a good 2012

  • @mdelair420 What do you mean "You people"?

  • @mdelair420 I mean the younger group by saying (you guys)..Never said you people...I mean no harm..The first place i read that or heard it was on utube..Most of my gen just dont talk that way unless they learned it here....So no big deal.I just find it amusing and unusual..Take it easy and have a good one..Latter

  • @Meridian740

have you been in the bathroom for a week?

  • @SidGrab Yes, yes he has. He called me and told me to tell you that he's gonna be a lil bit longer.

  • @Meridian740 Are you back yet?

  • @Meridian740

well you've been gone for two weeks now, it's safe to assume you're dead

  • My speaker won't go any louder. :(

  • Awesome song!!

  • Man Colin Farrell is just awesome!

  • 1:40 - 1:44 hes having an orgasm.

  • This is a great, great song. Nothing like this on the radio today. This song just has so much feeling in it. I think a lot of today's artists would do better to put out something they really feel passionately about, rather than something that they think will sell a lot of ringtones. We always have 90s music though! Thanks for posting!

  • One of the top 10 songs of the 90s.

  • I'm fourteen.. and I'm obsessed with this song. <3

  • songs like this couldn't get radio play today. No one seems to have an attention span.

  • @emerickscott

    It's sad...

    But who can change that?

  • I heard this song this morning on the radio, haven't heard it in many years. Tomorrow is my youngest sons 2nd birthday. 3 weeks before his birth in 2010 my father murdered my younger sister and then took his own life. This song is making me cry. The words didn't mean much to me when I was younger but now they do.

  • One of my favorite 90s song ... UGHHHH 90s were the best!

  • great music :) whatever happened to it?

  • 2012 n i still love this song ..dont need thumbs just stating truth

  • this song is deep

  • @gapucc88 I do exactly the same.

  • Am I the only one who reads peoples responses to older comments then feels obligated to search for what feels like forever to find out why they said what they said?..... at least I have good music to comfort me while I search

  • @gapucc88 Lol, true.

  • @patrose1231 Its grammar not grammer you fucking idiot. Quick to criticize someone else's spelling but your very own sucks. What a dumb ass. What kind of computer are you using anyway, doesn't everything have the spell check feature? What's your excuse?

  • As I read through some of these comments on this page I noticed that this song means a lot to some people but is it just me or is some of these people grammar all fucked up? Just an observation not trying to stir up anything. Seriously people, get with the fucking program. Read a book and get off your iPods and XBox and learn how to spell.

  • And I would like to think her soul and energy were passed along to my son. She was such a loving, devoted person and to this day so is my son and of the 3 of my sons, he is the closest and most loving to me. Thank you, Nan, love and miss you so much :)

  • wtf rockt?

  • <3

  • Only found out about this song a year ago 2 days before my daughter was born, so fitting.

  • Where's Brian Firenzi?

  • That was so beautiful

  • @JaydenSprings i agree

  • Man.. I miss the 90's

  • @okimarobot me too...*sigh*

  • @okimarobot i miss the 80's dude

  • @okimarobot yeah if only we had a time capsul huh...

  • @okimarobot 2004

  • @swagforyou no man, it was from their album Throwing Copper...released in 1995 and was even on the tops of US Billboard Charts in 95...positive

  • Rihanna "You Da One"?? Get the garbage out of my sight while I'm trying to watch the awesomeness.

  • This song really reminds me of my great uncle. I had only met him 3 or 4 times but everyone in my family always told me how much we look alike. This past summer my great uncle was shoot in the neck and killed. He was shoot because a woman in his truck company asked him for help and her insane husband assumed that he was the man making his wife cheat when really my uncle had nothing to do with this, and was shoot for no reason. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE MY UNCLE , WE LOVE AND MISS YOU UNCLE TONY.

  • Es tan del putas esta canción!

  • Love the rhythm.. love the melody..love the words..love 90s

  • "(C) 2004 Radioactive Records J.V." wat, wat?! this is a 90's song, the copyright should be in the 90's.

  • @kiaas also I should stop using that old meme of replacing what with wat, no one will get it anymore.

  • i am having a walk down memory lane with this song lol, i am missing being 15 right now :)

  • I am not your one bitch..

  • One of the best songs and albums to come out of the 90s

  • why am i seeing rihana next to the video and her broke english songs, the real music is this, unfortunately people dont listen to awesome bands like this

  • It's about Samsara, the Buddhist concept of the continuous flow of life. The clip demonstrates how when an old lady dies she is instantly reborn as a child elsewhere. Reincarnation basically. Live were well-known for their Eastern philosophies present throughout their music, lyrics and video clips.

  • @NicheMeerkat makes sense

  • @NicheMeerkat I love you

  • @NicheMeerkat Wow that is fantastic

  • @NicheMeerkat

This song was writen by a band member, who had a friend who died in a car crash, her organs and tissues where donated. Later the band member became very close friend to the person who received the heart. (when it says ' the confusion now belongs to the baby down the hall..." it all regarding to all the people who were blessed with organs and tissues.

  • @NicheMeerkat im pretty sure this was actually written about his sister dying giving birth

  • honestly how could anyone dislike this

  • Comment removed

  • @StinkyKnobCheese the reason they broke up is money, did you know that?

  • @jvhooft That is completely irrelevant to his comment, and I really doubt money was a concern. This album sold 8 million copies in the U.S. alone, so I think they are all financially set for life.

  • @jvhooft the 'alleged' reason. Ed has come out and said that allegation was untrue. It's essentially a 'he said, he said', as in Ed vs Chad Taylor.

  • This particular song - as ive been led to understand - is about a miscarriage, though im not sure

  • @AprilMarcoux i think it about a mother dies as she gives birth

  • @AprilMarcoux Obviously.

  • @xXGhilliedxSamuraiXx No actually its about and Old lady dieng and a child being born the mother doesnt actually die but the video is very misleading.

  • @AprilMarcoux Kowalczyk says "Lightning Crashes" has caused misinterpretations of the song's intent. "While the clip is shot in a home enviro, I envisioned it taking place in a hospital, where all these simultaneous deaths & births are going on, one family mourning the loss of a woman while a screaming baby emerges from a young mother in another room. Nobody's dying in the act of childbirth, as some viewers think. What you're seeing is actually a happy ending based on transference of life.

  • Being an old guy, I only discovered Live recently. They are every bit as good as the supergroups of the 60s and 70s, Floyd, The Stones et al. Their front man is amazing. For them music is an art form, not just nursery school music like now.

  • I like how they sing about deep stuff instead of money and hoes.

  • i never see the video before....but i liket this song so much

  • 154 dislikers are noobs

  • I remember watching MTV back when they used to show music videos back in 1994 and seeing this video for the first time. Epic then and still Epic. Shame music today is not half as great as it was between 1990-1994

  • i can relate coz i have a kids

  • chills down my spine

  • this song make me wanna have a kid

  • Saw them in concert. Awesome. My brother saw them when they first started getting big.

  • No other description except Beautiful

  • love this song! 90s music is so much better than todays.

  • @KeyZtoDaBenZ I agree entirely, but this song came out in 2004.

  • @gotmilk606 nah man it cam eout in 94, off throwing copper. The 2004 under the vid is from when it was uploaded to youtube

  • @TheCorporalClegg Holy hell, you're right. They sure don't sound like the 90's to me.

  • @TheCorporalClegg Youtube wasn't around in 2004. The 2004 date is just a copyright renewal of the song which came out in 1994

  • song of life and death

  • I've heard the song before but I've never heard it until i watched this video and really understood. Gave me chills. Truly beautiful.

  • Nostalgia at its best.

  • This video/song wrenches my heart in a beautiful fashion.

  • I can feel it coming back again too. I get awesome high school flash backs when I hear this song. Sad song but happy memories. Kinda weird.

  • i would like to be the 6th Million viewer.

  • I listen this song every day. What a beautiful song.

  • ill track !!! you know its hottttttt

  • not to be critical, but i hate it when they throw a bunch of fucking nigger rap when you're looking to hear some hard rock.

  • that was a powerfull musid video.

  • Any song that uses the word "placenta" is a favorite of mine.

  • lightning crashes a new mother cries this is my fav so this song is the song is the same song that my mom played at my step moms funeral i cried for about 3 weeks every time i hear this i cry still R.I.P SUE i miss u so much

  • VEVO sux ass!! it is ruining youtube!!

  • @TributesToYngwie SO HARD... YE-YE-YEAH! Ah yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm so hard So hard, so hard, so hard, so hard :P I'm sure you didn't mean to quote her song in the midst of your sarcasm but I found it ironic!

  • Classic rock here.

  • To everyone using the Internet ....people who cannot express themselves with out resorting to profanity are wankers.

  • Remember watching song with my brother and just thinking how much this song impacted us and we started to think different about life and whats important to us in life at an early age. singing along quietly.

Feels good to watch it again after a long time sadly my brother is not here to watch it with me, i love you BEN forever with me.. will keep singing it for us...

  • @badassdahn

    sorry for your loss

  • @bobzilla2011 Thanks bobzilla.

  • Sicken: thanks for the mention, but you got me all wrong, fucker; you really think I have an "empathy" problem? You are so wrong: true, I despise the stupid and the brutal, but what is it you think a Marine does (besides kill?) as a senior NCO I spent most of my own pay-check taking care of the idiots under me with way too many kids and wives and not enough money, so FUCK you for saying I have no "empathy."

  • stinkslikesalmon: I don't need to get respect, fucktard; I've earned it; you must be at least 16, using such bullshit language with me, a retired Marine: you young cunts kill each other over Nike shoes and wheel-rims, and insults in a bar or in the street outside a rave club. I, on the other hand, have held, with my men and my officers, the destinies of several nations in my hands, during my career: so fuck you, you have no fucking idea what you're talking about, moron.

  • brilliant singer

  • I lobe this song on one tree hill they play it at such an intense part in the show

  • What a way to die, and then be birth again.

  • who elses favourite part is at 1:37 gives me goosebumps every time

  • There is something wrong with my computer... my speakers wont get loud enough.
