NOW REALLY WHO CAN BLEEP WITH THIS TODAY?!! AIN'T NO ONE THAT HAS THE MANLY FUNKY PRESENCE OF JAMES BROWN...RAW, ROUGH, SOUL BROTHER NUMBER ONE...FOR AS LONG AS THE GROOVE KEEPS ON! PERIOD!
@CT2507 you obviously werent born then, it was the square ass white-bread crowd that tended to be in the Mike Douglas audience once in a while, James Brown was wowing audiences all over the world and considered QUITE the big deal. Douglas's show wasnt a late nite show, i was a daytime show and you didnt get on it unless you could pull ratings, he just ended up on the show on a day appalachian tours decided to visit
@SlikkTim please understand James Brown is badass and his band is bad ass, thats a trademark shout to the band as he goes into the chorus,or bridge what have you............when you say sickening, is that a new positive term,? or is that a sick ass jealous thing?
@DONNIMETROPOLIS313 I'm a huge JB fan and I been listenin' to him for years. I can guarantee that lil "huh" ain't systematic on I Got The Feelin, it's just that the hits were so tight he couldn't repress a lil satisfaction lookin to the band.
This guy is up for greatest single talent of the 20th century. None of them did it all (sing, dance, write, arrange) let alone invent a genre. He is his own category and the only one in it.
guests loved the mike douglas show because he let his guests go all out without restricting themt ,he way some shows of the day did. guests knew they could really Rock Out .
Why so short? Wish I could see the whole performance. Michael said he was always so frustrated because the camera would always pull away from JB feet. I feel that way when viewing some of Michaels tv show videos too.
This is the guy michael wanted to be, his biggest idol, have u watched the jacksons 5 motwon audition? Well they are doing this song and michaels little feet are on fire..
IT DID!!!! I vividly remember being about 6 years old and seeing this clip on my family's new computer and having my mind blown by this clip. There was a great clip of Leadbelly on there and one of Johnny Cash, too.
I have that cd too. And my personsal favorite from it was the video of Jerry Lewis's "Great Balls of Fire". I watched that video and this one soooo many times.
i felt my arteries clogging as I was watching this.Slappin that grease to dip you on yo neck.

I was in a 9 piece cover band that did this number. Playing the guitar and nailing the groove with a great bass player and drummer was almost sexual.

Insanely tight band. Too bad there's not more of this, as this sounds like the best rendition ever of this great song.
