This video makes it sound so nice to study at UNSW. Well, I'd been there and they hate asians. So far not a single aussie spoke to me except my fellow asians. They are only interested in your money. They will try any thing to get your money. Everything including the Christian clubs. They NEVER have enough accommodation and you have to find your own unless you book like HALF YEAR EARLY!

Maybe I am the most unluckiest person in the world. I hope your life will be better there. Better than mine. They usually give you two weeks to adapt. If you cannot stand it, you can leave and return home. After 2 weeks you cannot get back your money so think carefully. Again, I hope your stay at UNSW will be a pleasant and exciting one. Too bad for me though... :(

Uni is all about loosening up and approaching other people, if you expect people to just walk up to you and start talking then you are joking yourself.
I came from interstate and knew no-one yet found it a very welcoming Uni. I have also been to Melbourne Uni, and down there the people are icy cold, pretentious and everyone gives you a look like a dead fish, so in contrast UNSW is VERY pleasant socially.
Smiled the whole semester, can't wait until next year =D!
