hey bro, I am getting ready for mesquite. Ive noticed the same thing you have with the posture! Ive moved from the stock 46 inch fujikura to 3x stiff and 2 x stiff accuflex assassins on geek heads! My accuracy is near perfect, and i have learned to shape my drives concerning bad conditions. the longer shafts help alot with my swing speed which have given my an actual 10 mph boost!
and your right, i have checked out my swing speed with a new vector pro and have found my swing speed at contact is around 150-160ish with the cobra club, I have since then cracked the face, with the new shafts 170ish is an every 'now and then' occurance, but ive hit 180 mph SS with out a real good solid impact on the ball, Im working on it still about 8 months of any golf under my belt so a lot of people believe im progressing at a fast rate.

A little more upright posture will probably increase your swing speed a little. It helped me gain 7 mph. Also that outside in swing plane is helping your swing speed a little but the slice must be killing your accuracy on the course.
There are usually 2 separate speeds: the clubhead speed and the speed at which the ball leaves the clubface. The latter is always much faster(unless you miss the ball that is). E.g. Tiger's average slubhead speed's about 135mph, but his other average speed's about 175mph.
If the 'sport' you refer to is 'long driving' then sure; best of luck with it, and with school. But if you want to talk about golf, you need to go and work on the other 13 clubs in the bag.
