I am not disputing that there will be a close, familial bond between step-parents and step-siblings.

Mia was the one responsible for the two getting together in the first place. You can't guarantee that her family would see it differently you never lived with them. Soon-Yi stated that if it weren't for Mia, they wouldn't have cared.

I was initially repulsed by this relationship, but when I ventured more into getting into the facts about it and learning the truth behind the lies, then I changed my mind. Frankly, Soon-Yi is much better off with Woody than with Mia. Many of Mia's adopted children have had a lot of problems. According to sources close to the family, Mia favoured herbiological children over the foster ones and treated Lark, Tam and others like scullery maids.
