  • at :45 its so funny how the audience is so unwowed by this lol i love it though

  • Super director! Highly gifted! Congratulations - please try following things:

Georg Philipp Telemann lute duos, Wouter Joseph Smekens: Pieces Of Puzzle(Puzzelstukken) No III

  • Excellent arrangement. I thought the use of mandola and octave mandola for the keyboard was very effective.

  • Hey Steve Howe, sound familiar? Clap if you agree...

  • This is absolutely my favorite Beethoven piece! Gorgeous rendition!

  • Excellent ! Thank you for sharing !

  • A great performance, and good PR for the mandolin!

    Greetings from Holland.

  • of course! i cant find in his catalogue any compositions for mandolin , so it is my question...is strange.Mozart wrote only one work for mandolin ,but i think that beethoven wrote no one.thanks!!! i need to investigate.

  • what opus is it? is wonderfull. The original version is composed for mandolin? i dont think so.

  • There is no any mark like "opus" in my score. I have just arrangment for mandolin orchestra. I know, that piece is composed by young Beethoven originally for mandolin and harpsichord. There is nothing strange! For example, Vivaldi, Mozart and Mahler composed for mandolin, too.

    Bye!

  • I think WoO (without opus) 44a which is "Sonatina for mandolin and piano in C Major" where I've found it listed . I have found a 43A "Sonatina for mandolin and harpsichord" but that's in C Minor.

  • I don't get why everyone here thinks it's a huge mystery that Beethoven wrote music for the mandolin, check his catalogue of compositions under WoO.

WoO 43a: Sonatina for mandolin and harpsichord

WoO 43b: Adagio for mandolin and harpsichord

    # WoO 44a: Sonatina for mandolin and piano

WoO 44b: Andante and variations for mandolin and harpsichord

And they have all been recorded too.

  • @sebastianfrego It's the WoO 44. :)

  • Brilliant - a fine performance of this perfect mandolin piece
