i still favor the simplicity of a bar and a start style button. fast and easy. reinventing the wheel isnt necisary.
unity, metro, whatevershoethatfits, apparently have developers a little too keen on trying to be impressive and different to make themselfs appear innovative, instead of keeping something good that works well.
this has been a consistant line of steps back instead of forward.
if something works well you dont try to fix or replace it.
@Hacker92h This version of KDE isn't officially out yet, so if you think you're going to be getting this, you're wrong. But, yes. Under Wine, a sort of Windows emulation program for Linux, you should be able to get most any program working. I recommend trying the Wubi on the Kubuntu website before you do a full install.
@Live4TheGame1 This KDE (KDE 4.7.2) is already old...Now KDE 4.7.4 is running... new version of KDE ie, KDE 4.8 is gonna be released by the end of Jan 2012...
@ruelsmith: This launcher "Search and Launch" comes with KDE(4.6 on wards i guess) by default. You can get it by selecting "Search and Launch" from Desktop settings->Layouts.
wow that is really nice I might just use kubuntu instead of just ubuntu

@einsamste Have you given Linux Mint a try? you might like it, it's a little more simple than the Unity interface.

lol its even better than Mac.
I wish I could use this OS, but my whole life is on my Windows 7..which im get bored of using it.
The problem is I have games, programs...etc on my windows will they run on Kubuntu?
if so, I will change to Kubuntu and will try to learn how to use it (it looks easy to use so it won't take time)
