  • top two strings tune to C, next two strings tune to F, next two strings tune to A, bottom last two strings tune to D

  • Beautiful

  • Poly orea! Very nice Bouzouki playing!

Why do you write in the tags Nana Mouskouri?

Don't get me wrong, I like her singing too, but "Ta Pedia tou Pireaus" (from the film: Never on Sunday) is original sung by my favourite megali Melina Mercouri!

Nobody ever performed it better than she did!

    Best regards from Germany

  • Oh Thank you Thank You so much! My mom used to play this on her mandolin! and I used to know the words in Greek. (yes, I'm half Greek) IF one can possibly be half Greek! lol This gives me bittersweet memories. Do you have this song in vocals with mandolin?

  • thanks, i haven't seen you play, maybe you are better, the harmonies in the chorus are the most difficult part, the rest is not that difficult - it is not a very fast song, like some Greek songs.

    Πολη Καλα!

  • thank you, i appreciate your support.

  • This and Zorba the Greek will

without a doubt be my two favorite

    Grecian tunes !

  • I really love listening again to this Greek instrument, the bouzouki. It brings back fond memories of my wonderful visit to Greece back in 2006. It would be nice actually listening again to a good bouzouki player playing any of Manos Hadjidakis' many wonderful tunes...over a bottle of ouzo and a plate of calamari! Greece, whew! what a beautiful country and what a wonderful people. I've been to several countries but Greece will always be my favorite. Thank you for the memories.

  • thankyou that was brilliant you make it look so easy i would love to play never on a sunday for my farther who is from cyprus (paphitis) have you any tips on how to learn is it as easy as you make it look? i know bazouki is hard to play! thanks again keep up te gd work. dom

  • like everything dom it takes a lot of practice. I have been playing this song for many years. If you want to learn you can do it.You have to commit at least one hour a day to strengthen the fingers and develop technique. If you are willing to learn on your own following written music and instructions, I know a good teacher-Costa Vasili, He posts world wide He has his own website. Type in bouzoukiman in google and you will find his contact details.

  • thank you for getting back to me so fast thank you for your advice and I shall look at Costa Vasili web site. god bless

  • Thanks Vick, it reminded me from my grandfather who was born in Greece

  • NEVER ON SUNDAY Melina Merkoyri sang this hit song (best movie song of 1960) in the very successful movie filmed in Greece.
