Mark lives here in Petoskey MI and I see him all the time. He just played the casino here in town. No matter how many times you see him or watch his show, you really appreciate the guy. We have an honest to goodness musical STAR here in our town. I'm not sure if many people around here realize just how world renowned he is. I think that's why he likes living here and we like having him!
@UsMaLeMan1 I was at that show! Mark was so perfect that night. When I told him that he kinda stopped and looked at me and said with a question in his voice: "yeah???" He's so funny and down-to-Earth. You do have a rock icon amongst you in your beautiful town. I had a great time. I was the second one in the LocoMotion line. If you haven't seen Mark Farner's concert yet, you must put it on your bucket list...he is Grand Funk Railroad.
I love Mark Farner and the old Grand Funk, not the new fake Grand Funk!! . Don and Mel, you should be ashamed of yourselves for screwing Mark out of what's rightfully his!!!
Your the greatest Mark and what a testimony to the rock and roll world after everything you and Grand Funk went through you guys desreve it all brother ! Best wishes to all of you !
I saw this show when it came to Boston. I was all excited about seeing Felix C. I thought he would be the highlight of the night.
I had seen Grand Funk at Madison Sq. Garden in the early 70s, back when they ruled the world. I enjoyed it back then but didn't give Farner much thought this night.
What happened was...I was wrong. the show belonged to Mark Farner. I swear he floated just above the stage, he was that graceful.
The crowd went MENTAL when he performed. I'll never forget it.
This is a good song but not one of my favorite Grand Funk songs. However, I do like Mark's great guitar solo, especially on the record version thats been played a million times on the radio. being introduced by Ringo and him playing drums with Mark, how cool is that. Sure miss The Beatles, though.
Gotta play the hits. Simple as that. When you work with 5-6 guys that all have their own hits, you don't get to be choosy. That's why these shows were usually OK, but never great. It was about starpower, not great performances.

Can't Nobody-No how-No way argue with Ringo on that one!
A Farner-less Funk is like a day without Rock and Roll...I don't wanna be there.
