Hardly the case. Refer to the Blu-Ray Disc entry on Wikipedia. Scroll down and you will find a comparison chart. Look at the audio section. Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus are mandatory on HD-DVD, wheras they are option with Blu-Ray.
So, the audio is the same then.

Though it states same quality, look further in that fact sheet and you see more MB/sec dedicated to sound. That and professional viewers state that HD DVD has more content, but blu ray sounds better (for audiophiles like me this is a big point)
Too bad it isn't TRUE 1080p cause MacBook Pros' screen resolution only goes up to 1680x1050; however, it does produce a REALLY nice picture. I give it a 5/5 for seeing the HD-DVD Xbox 360 attachment work with Windows (seriously, how'd you do it? lol).

*Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista (any)
* MS Net Framework 2.0 or above
* Win DVD 8, Nero 8 with HD-DVD plugin (cost extra)
* Direct X 9c or above
if you have all of that and an Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive it will work flawlessly
install all critical updates if any are available and wah lah the HD-DVD experience is complete.
Mac users do all the above after you install windows xp in Bootcamp

1080p30 is different than 1080p24.
Movies are 24 bumped up to 30 to fit tv refresh rates, and games are natively 30.
