I met Fred in California, and as we walked I asked him if I could carry his luggage, and he said i didn't have to and I said that it would be my pleasure, I told him how me and my father loved the show and that we have mucho respecto for him. Then he started to curse the IRS and said he couldn't pay them and he was Ready Freddy all the way to his cab. I met a great African entertainer. We all miss you Fred. LOVE to You.

Sanford and Son is much more funnier than Steptoe and Son. Most of the time, the show Steptoe and Son revolves around Oldman Steptoe and Harold exclusively, whereas Sanford and Son allowed more memorable characters to co-star alongside Red Foxx and Demond. Steptoe and Son is a funny show regardless.

Steptoe and Son, being a proper British show, American audiences wouldnt understand half of a the comedy and situations displayed (still dont believe Brambell was gay!). Steptoe and Son was a split between comedy, true drama, and a cunning plot thrown in every now and then. Sanford and Son was soley a comedy mini-series, it never took itself seriously. They are 2 entirely different shows. Love both shows but Red Foxx is simply a funny old man!
