  • I agree

  • yes, of course he has star wars toys and a gold phone!

  • it did drop significantly after 2008 oil crisis but then it went right back up. what a bitch!!! i love how you demantrate supply and demand by using singles and Star Wars action figures!!! LOL

  • Sean Cota of the Petroleum Marketers Association of America said "it's unbridled investment money that is dominating the market, to the point where supply and demand doesn't matter anymore" ... Its not a supply and demand issue.

  • the price has nothing to do with supply and demand for oil. It’s the financial market for oil, filled with both professional speculators and amateur investors betting on poorly understood oil exchange-traded funds, who have ratcheted up the price of gas to such sky high levels.

  • It is price manipulation by the fat cat oil executives, so they can bleed this country and the world to death.

  • we should be hanging our elected leaders for allowing this outrage in gaspump gouging! death to opec! death to anyone who raises the price of oil!

  • Prices will not go down because the crooks who watch those pumps YOU YES YOU use do not care if you BEG BORROW OR STEAL the money to fuel what ever you drive you have to use some form of PETROLEUM ie Gasoline,DIESEL, even so called NG..Natural Gas Buses comes from OIL ie Middle East so they dictate to their thugs on Wall Street to raise prices at the sign of BS ....all Corruption and INT. THIEVERY!

  • Creeping up on almost 3 years later and this is still true. The sad thing is that if gas went down to where it was when this video was made, then the same thing would happen that the video talks about.

Do we understand anything about how business works in this country or are we really that stupid?

  • Price per Barrel is $87.40 same around $2.94/Gallon.

and THEY GOING BOOSTED $5 A WEEK. >:(

GET THE OIL THING CRASHING PLZ.

  • haha they did now it only $2.81

  • @zalov1994 Yeah you're right, besides the fact that prices were as low as $1.40 a little bit ago.

See, you're Boba Fett in this video, prices weren't as high as they were and you think problem's solved forever. Nevermind the fact that prices have ONLY been creeping back up to where they were before.

  • @Kajayacht I think they will go down soon because all the hybrids and electric and diesels vehicles are going to make gas less needed then make gas prices go down.

  • The whole brainwashing campaign of "Peak Oil" and the notion that oil is a "fossil fuel" is yet another one of those massive con jobs. The following story will introduce you to the theory that oil is an abiotic process, deep in the earth where, under heat and pressure condense into hydrocarbons. No organic process is involved and the earth is constantly producing these hydrocarbons.

  • Oil and gas are not finite resources. They are in fact being constantly produced. The oil and gas industry has perpetrated the myth that oil is a fossil fuel for obvious reasons. They wish you to believe there is scarcity. This is what all large cartels do. Creating the perception of scarcity is key to controlling markets, pricing, etc.

  • Oil and natural gas is an abiotic planetary process

  • the notion that oil is a "fossil fuel" is pure B.S. There aren't any ancient forest or dinosaurs that have rotted into oil

  • This is one reason, not the only one.

In Europe people are used since 30 years to have to pay 5 times more... for the same gasoline (where does the difference go?)

  • @Zzozze TAXES

  • Its a vicious never ending cycle. That will only end when we completely deplete Mother Earth of her resources.Damn us Greedy Human Cocksuckers.............

  • What is with these people who desperately want your video taken down? I suspect they're nothing more than desperately paid big oil puppets. The video was correct before and it's correct today.

  • The people who want this video down are just like Chewbacca and Boba Fet in the video (probably spelled both names wrong)

Prices go down, they think that the problems solved forever and they go ape shit crazy. They're only looking at the here and now, I'm looking towards the future.

  • "The people who want this video down are just like Chewbacca and Boba Fet in the video (probably spelled both names wrong)"

LOL ! That true. Thanks for the laugh. Sadly, everyday when I'm driving to work on US-50 to Washington, I monitor the prices and I see them slowly going back up every 2-3 days. Once in a while it'll go down 2-3 cents but then that's it.

As for looking towards the future, there's nothing wrong with looking at the present. It's just that they misperceive it.

  • Remove this vid. The price went down. You were mistaken. Admit it and move on.

  • You know, you're right, it's been what? 6 months now, problem's solved forever.

Nevermind the fact that prices got as low as $1.40 and now they've crept back up to around the $2.00 mark and show no signs of stopping.

  • And the prices are slowly going back up. I'll be surprised if by the end of the year, the national average isn't $3/gallon. Stan1208 is either a desperate big oil shill or brainwashed into believing crude oil is infinite. Hemp and algae oil would be great but decentralization is needed. Sadly, big oil and big government are against decentralization.

  • Gas goes up and down and is going to try and stay down for at least a year, barring any more production cuts (of crude oil OR Gasoline refinery capacity). There is a PERCEPTION of a glut of crude on the market (which isn't really true) and as long as that perception persists, prices should stay low. But long term, the price will be driven up and if god forbid we loose the petro dollar Americans could be priced out of the market.

  • @Kajayacht i agree with you 101% prices go up especially on third world countries, truly bad indeed. thanks for the vid

  • Implement a price ceiling on gasoline. Problem Solved

  • That'd be awesome, but what if the oil to make that gasoline is too expensive for that price ceiling?

  • You are right about this, gas prices are dropping because demand is low and getting lower. I think these oil companies are the ones that started this mess we are in. Gas got so high that the cost of everything went up (inflation) and people smartened up. It's kinda like hittin the bell with the big hammer at the fair, they went up too high and hit the bell and now they are paying the price for being greedy.

  • People didn't do jack shit, they went halfway to actually fixing the problem and now that it's back down to an affordable level, people think they're out of the woods.

Just read the string of like 6 comments I made on nelcomar's comment.

  • dude you should take out this video. gas whent down and your theory proved to be false

  • Dude, the current situation is only proving my point.

Gas went down and now people think the problem is solved forever.

Call me crazy, but for me it's not really about price. For me it's all about the fact that it's a non-renewable resource that we rely too heavily upon that will run out eventually.

The problem is, no one wants to tackle the problem and right when we were about to, it drops significantly, honestly, we're fucked now because now people won't switch and we'll be in deeper shit

  • If you ask me, it all has to due with Obama getting elected but he was a big supporter of alternative fuel my point exactly, his heart was in the right place, but there's other people with other agendas

Obama supported alternative fuel all the corporations knew that, the President isn't on their team so they get the people.

If gas is lower, no one will want to pay more taxes to research energy "they don't need" because at this moment they can afford the gas. What about 20 years from now?

  • It's the same shit that happened in the late 70's, gas was getting high then so all the scientists were starting to research some other means of energy. Reagan gets elected and OPEC gets scared of him so they drop their prices.

Prices went down and no one wanted their money being spent on all this crap they don't need because people only think about the here and now they don't look down the road. So those programs got cut and long behold 20 years later the same thing is happening.

  • All of you here saying "Oh oh retard alert, gas is $1.70 now!" are only proving my point.

You all think that just because right now gas is low it'll stay that way. I said permanently, believe it or not, when I say permanently I don't mean 3 months, I mean, well until the end of time and it's a problem that's not going to go away unless we switch.

  • dude, the point is: people want oil, because it is cheaper than switching to anything else. when oil starts to run dry (which has been predicted many times and didn't happen so far, but eventually will) and oil prices go WAY up, the switch will be made, but ONLY when switching is cheaper than to keep buying oil. like you said in the vid, it's basic economy.

  • Actually, if you paid attention to oil production history, you would have found that already more fields are peaking. Canada itself is having a hard time getting their tar sands in order. Time to switch to algae and hemp and decentralize. More expensive? Well, learn to conserve and improve fuel efficiency for Christ's sake !

  • In 2004 and 2006 during election season, the prices were temporarily lowered and then crept back up starting in Jan of 2005 and 2007 respectively. The same thing has been happening this year. And I am so sick and tired of the worsening traffic that I'm begging for higher gas prices and lower metro fares from God !

  • gas went down b'y by a almost a dollar

  • Gas is $1.90 a gallon, and dropping. Wrong much?

  • well the price of gas went down more than a dollar a gallon directly before the 2006 election, to the point that it was called a conspiracy. Now it is going down again more than a dollar a gallon, election 2 weeks away. It is nothing but fraud. The industry needs to be regulated just like electric or water.

  • ROFLMAO. I watched it again and it's kinda funny that we are kinda like a bunch of sharks and when they throw the food overboard, boom, we all run down and "eat that oil". LOL. How true, How true. Don't worry about the bucket of baby back ribs as your probably right but it does make me hungry. 5 stars for being the only other one I've seen that knows what is really happening to US.

  • People in America need to wake up to the fact your being conned by these oil giants and it's time to put them in their place, hopefully before we collapse.

  • Well, your theory just got blew out the window as supply was cut but price went down. LOL. It takes more than a table, some dollar bills and play toys to figure it out.

  • And I bet you a bucket of baby back ribs that it will go back up. If it stays down and never goes back up, give me your address and I'll send you a bucket of baby back ribs swear to God.

  • Actually I'm with you on this. When people start complaining, they lower the price a little and people "feel" better, but it inches right back up and the process repeats again but the price never goes back down to the low before. It's a mind game they play with people to "get them feeling that the price went down when it actually went up". OPEC is nothing but a bunch of greedy cowards and I hope America builds Nuke plants and EV's so we can finally tell them to "shove it".

  • The bucket of baby back ribs is starting to sound pretty good.

  • So they need the gas price to be as high as possible. but not as high to allow other countries to develop alternate source of energy. Energy from solar and wind mill is quite high at $16 per MW.

  • The real answer why it wont go down is different countries needs different price to support gas production, new drills, refinaries etc. Gas from Saudi and Russia is cheapest as its light at around $16, The gas from Iran and venezuela is more expensive at $46/barrel. The oil county's budget is set for example at $70/ barrel so when the price drops they fall under budget deficit.

  • You are so wrong in so many ways. You are trying to explain the gas price by the equations of supply and demand?? childish.

is that why OPEC cut production by 50000 barrels per day in 1998??

is it why they are cutting ~ 1 / 2 million in comming weeks?

  • People who drive gas guzzlers are the main reason for higher demand. The price of gas should be priced according to the factory mpg on your vehicle. The lower your mpg the more you pay, the higher your mpg the less you pay. Why should someone that drives a little four cylinder car have to pay for the higher demand caused by these rich people driving hummers. If you choose to buy a gas guzzler then you choose to pay for the higher gas price too. Now that's as fair as it's going get.

  • this is logicall and basic but it doesnt really show the real problem. it is purly corruption. now that gas has gone down OPEC has anounced that they will cut oil production which will rise the price. We have thousands of acres that are leased to the oil companies but they don't drill. what really is going on is that there are alot of those dollar bill in your draws but the oil companies refuse to drill more and faster causing the price of oil to increase while collecting massive profits.

  • Update: This video has been proven correct. After crude oil prices went back down some, traffic hell came back up and there are still more big butt SUV drivers on the road. AAAARRRGGGGHHH ! My wife wishes that after this election, the average gas prices would go back up and to $5/gallon. I swear. We really do need a SUPER SUPER GREAT DEPRESSION to teach us a cold hard lesson in taking oil for granted. There are too many frivolous drivers on the road making it hard others.

  • Lol at the star wars guys!! yumm yumm

  • i would like to listen to your reply now that the oil prices have come down 30% in a few weeks. Or is it that "insignificant" change in price you were talking about?

  • If you honestly think it's going to stay down there, you're fooling yourself. I know last time I looked at the prices (which was 2 days ago) it was $4.25 in Muncie, Indiana.

  • 4.22 in Pensacola Florida. And we're in the middle of a shortage because of Hurricane Ike (Pensacola get's about 25% of it's Gasoline from Refineries in Lousiana and Texas)

  • i dont think it is going to stay at a current $99/barrel. I think it wil go down to 50-60/barrel by Feb 2009. We are in the oil bubble and we all know what happens at the end of the bubble right!? It is right up there with house prices will "never" go down bubble but that is already a history.

  • Are houses a limited resource that have been carelessly overused for over half a century?

There's a big big difference and you know it.

  • Don't you remember the election season stunts every time? The only way oil prices will go down is if demand goes way down and stays there. But guess what? Just about everything is manufactured with crude oil. Sure, hemp, bamboo, flax, etc ... could substitute all the way but don't expect crude oil prices to come down so low.

  • Has there been any response from Bush, McCain or Obama to Opec recently limiting production???

  • Your a sheep if U think there's no back door dealing. Our govt failed to protect us. They knew where we were headed more than 10 years ago. ITS THEIR FUCKIN JOB TO PREDICT WHERE WE'RE HEADED AS A NATION!

We should of been lookin for alternative solutions for fuel when Clinton was in office. If we would of then we would be at least 12 tears into the habit of using fuel other than gas.

However, 100s of billions still needed to be made. The govt was simply bribed into holding off. Sad but True.

  • Big oil controls gas prices. Pre bush gas price .89 cents, post bush price $4.00 a gallon. It doesn't take rocket science to see this. The price of gas will keep droping until the election in Nov. The big illusion continues.

  • True that. It happens every election season. Regardless of who makes it to the White House, rest assured, the prices will go back up to at least $4.50 a gallon on average given that both parties are sellouts these days. With Mccain, it's obvious the price will keep going up. With Obama, if you think that he'll bring it down to even $3 a gallon, prepare to be thoroughly disappointed. It's high time other technologies got their say instead of stifling them.

  • omfg you are a COMPLETE idiot if you actually believe that...

  • Now after all that remaining oil just found is scarfed, exploration costs will continue to go up. Hence, the price for oil goes back up. That's the price of taking a finite resource for granted. And if you think you're going to get $3/gal or lower, prepare to be disappointed because it's not coming back or decreasing. Time to give hemp for fuel a chance to compete with gasoline and petrol diesel. I'd say it's high time we Americans learned to grow our own oil instead of digging and wars.

  • no way that makes too much sence and besides then the oil companies wouldnt have a the market cornered

  • Well? We can't keep being stuck in a RIGGED market falsely labeled "free" now can we? A truly free market would allow hemp and petroleum to actually compete and if Big Oil's fears back in the 1930s that hemp would win in the people's market, then so be it. Big Oil was and still is a POMPOUS FRAUD and America is paying very dearly for it. Can you afford to be "hooked on scarcity" any longer?

  • I couldnt agree with you more I like E85 my self its a far better fuel and an engine can be made to get better mpg on ethonal if the engine is designed to run on e85 instead of being designed to run on gas last I heard good old george made hemp illegal oil is unregulated and has no competition its unfair to all of us our goverment is putting the oil companies interests infront of families

  • Gas is going to go down. Especially if we drill in Alaska for oil. But I want it to stay high for a little bit. People are selling campers for nothing! They're all steals! Hopefully my family will get one soon.

  • And how long will it stay down assuming we find the estimated amount of oil in Alaska or drill offshore desperately? How much of it is going to be usable (hint: heavy sour vs light crude)? And unless your camper engine is diesel and can thus run on various plant/veggie oils, keep dreaming. As long as you support fuel inefficient technologies and rampant consumerism, you're part of the reason why gas prices will keep shooting up.

  • I'm just saying if we use domestic oil, prices will drop significantly due to not spending money on foriegn oil. We actually have quite a lot in the US. Besides, We're going camping next week with our travel trailer. I hope our truck can make it up the campground's hills!

  • First of all, domestic oil has long peaked out in the 1970s or we wouldn't be borrowing Saudi oil for 3 decades already. 2nd, the amount that's left is totally irrelevant and just a guess at best and the type of oil (sour heavy vs light sweet) will determine how much useful oil we'll get out of it. 3rd, assuming that the amount actually comes anywhere close to materializing, if you really expect oil companies to give you a nice fallback in prices, you haven't been paying attention.

  • Anyone can say that "Hey, there's another 1 trillion barrels of oil. Dig it up. I don't give a damn if it kills the environment ! Dig it up ! Dig it up !" However, here's a lesson. Crude oil gets pumped from the ground and after removing all that sulfur and filtering out other chemicals along with making sure it's not too dense but transportable. The more sulfur that exists and the heavier the oil, the more work and expense in refining and the less it'll yield.

  • Kajayacht, have you ever heard about the various grades of oil? You know, light sweet, sour heavy, etc ... It just gets harder to drill, more sour and heavy type, and it's poorer quality.

P.S.: In Cincinatti, an accidental computer glitch posting gas at 1.40 instead of 4.10 ended up in an overcrowd. Frankly though, fossil fuels have been abused more than enough already. Let us switch to the NUMBER ONE source that can replace oil and coal 100%, HEMP !

  • It's true, hemp does produce more energy per acre then any other crop used for biodiesel or ethanol.

Too bad there's that whole taboo about it being made from the same stuff pot is made from, which of course is the perfect reason to completely rule it out (if you think about it, that really seems like more of a reason that pot smokers would use against using hemp as fuel, "Everyone's using our potential pot for fuel and there's none left for us to get high on!!" Kinda funny.

  • Come to think of it, I just found out from a guy named Wade Frazier (he's on google), there is a mentality called the "hooked on scarcity" mania. That said, it is easier for just about any business to cash in on a finite source and financially bully customers into ripoffs. Renewables would prevent that since there would be room for true competition. My wife's uncle said it best when he said in 1981 "We're just going to borrow elsewhere even though payment will be further due down the road".

  • By the way, on the last sentence about 1981, my wife's uncle remembers the horror during the 1970s energy crisis. We could have really changed but the voters chose oil hacks and thus this country chose to borrow time by borrowing from the MidEast. Now that even that is running out, light sweet crude at least, and there's little elsewhere to borrow and good ideas on alt renewables get squashed, I can already see that this will continue to be a rougher ride. Next year will make this year "cheap".

  • By the way, HEMP is renewable so the pot smokers who are against hemp for fuel are just nothing more than troublemakers. Let's see how much pot they'll be able to smoke as oil prices keep going up.

  • WRONG.

  • ahaha nice vid. i like it.

  • Your are wrong dude. Everybody nouws that America has a huge oil reserve that they do not use. If they decide to use it then it will go down

  • But what do we do when that huge oil reserve runs out?

I don't care how much oil we have if we just drilled in Alaska, the fact is it's not enough to last us forever.

The ONLY solution to the problem is a new source of energy because it doesn't matter how much we conserve, we're going to run out of oil end of story, And I for one am tired of the bullshit. And the bullshit is people sticking with gasoline even though they know this.

  • And if you're talking about that big 200 billion barrel deposit they THINK might be under North Dakota, well the US has a demand of 21 million barrels a day so, that 200 billion barrel deposit (if we don't export a single drop, which I'm sure we probably would) would last us... 26 years!!

    Solving the problem forever.

  • the american people need to just accept that your going to use the gas that you use and do what everyone else is doing and that would be working on a pay increase to cover all your expenses this is no time to lay down and cry

  • That's what I've been saying. Everyone's been saying that gas prices are high because all the big oil companies are mean and they're all plotting against us.

Well in reality, maybe around 10 years ago when they started to tell us we were running out of oil, they were telling the truth.

So people bitch and moan and come up with all these plans to lower gas prices, like don't buy gas from Exxon and Mobile.

The only solution is a new form of energy, whether it's ethanol or hydrogen, whatever

  • Already knew that lol

    But great video

    Kinda funny 2

    =D
