  • Love this version by Buckwheat..................check out Michael Murphy's live version on youtube. He slows it way down and it is killer.

  • sryanreed thanks for the upload this is just a GREAT song, written by Michael Murphy, Michael Nesmith did a nice job on this on his "Nevada Fighter" L.P., and why not it's great tune! To YT thanks for the space, the aforementioned sryanreed for the upload including some fine accompanying visuals, sand to B.W., RIP and you are missed! "Outside the sun is up and the wind blows me like a dixie cup down the highway" Nice work, Murphy!

  • this i think takes me back to a finer

place in life ' JUST " THAT

  • Ive loved his music since the early 70's. A beautiful voice and wonderful lyrics. It's a shame he died so young. I am working up this and On My Own to add to my solo gig. I hope I can do them justice. RIP BW.

  • Was searching through youtube early this morning and came across this old fav ... the sun had come up the coffee was on ... and the memories flowed ... thank you BW

  • Hi-Joanie here. Am becoming a syranreed groupie with beauutiful days, silver heart,,imagine, but I do love this one. Makes for a happy day. Thanks

  • sure do miss bw. saw him in his heyday a couple times. great songwriter and vocalist. Wish I could find more vintage bw. this song was actually a michael murphy tune, before he used his middle name. r.i.p. bw.

  • The last time I heard this song was in the late 70's when I loaned it to a girl in Winston-Salem N.C. and I have been trying to hear once more before I die. Thanks

  • FINALLY!! I haven't heard this song in 3 decades!! This is the only place I have found it! I would love to still have this song on the priceless B. W. Stevenson album album I used to own.

    ~sigh~

  • research B.W. on Facebook.....his kids are on there and you can buy the old cd's from them I believe.

  • Hate it that I don's have my copy of that lp anymore

  • i loved him, his voice, and his songs. i saw him around austin in the early to mid 70s, every chance i got. but in those days, beer was 50 cents; willie, b.w., michael murphy, jerry jeff, david alan coe - they were all just people who didn't know they were going to be famous someday. it was the best time of my life!

  • I had the honor and priviledge of seeing B.W. at the Amadillo World Headquarters not too long before they tore the place down; absolutely powerful show. I saw him in the early days at Texas Tea House, Mother Blues and various Dallas nightclubs and will love this music until the day I die. Excellent choice on the song too my friend! Well done.

  • wow. and you're right, his music is timeless and amazing. i absolutely love his music, his voice and his words.

  • There is a guy that lived in Tyler in the late 90s named Don Etheridge that was doing a lot of B.W.'s stuff. I played harmonica for him when he opened for Steven Fromholz one night and he had opened for Gary P. Nunn the previous week. I knew B. W. when he was Chuck and went to Adamson High School in Oak Cliff. He's been gone for 20 years, but his music is timeless.

  • i agree. i think he is one of the best songwriters and musicians ever. i can't believe no one has resurrected his music. thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.

  • outstanding song.....saw BW several times...very powerful singer, another a great talent for the man upstairs.
