@annadaniellemunro91 I live on Sankey St and went to have a look at the place this morning - looks pretty well untouched, although the lower half of Dudley St (end of Sankey) did go under.
We used to live in Ryan St - at flats on the right side just about where this video started. And that corner store was a favourite. It's unbelieveable to see it now and this was uploaded prior to the peak of the flood last night so add about 4 or 5 feet of water.
Thanks. I used to live in Carlow Street in those white flats, that you turn to at 3:45. On the other side of that crest in the Brisbane river, and parallel to Ryan street that you're on is Avebury, which would have gone under up to a point as it rose (as you see at 7:45 when you look down Hoogley to the City Cat terminal which has completely disappeared. So many times I walked down to that corner shop over so many years. Sorry to all of my old neighbours who have lost so much. Unbelievable.
I grew up in the house at 2.04 and my mum lived was there in 74. The front room was my bedroom! God bless!

Ryan St copped a beating

At 0:55, to your right, is that the river there?
Crap, the flood is worse than I thought it was.
In Highgate Hill, the worst we copped was a black out for about 2 days.

Doesn't look like it, according to the flood map that I tried to attach.
