Everything except the outer airframe is completely Chinese-developed and Chinese-designed.
Many people call it and the J-11B a "copy" since they look like their Sukhoi counterparts, but they are actually entirely different. The US does not classify them as part of the Sukhoi or even Flanker family.
For those who say that this is a "copy", it shows how little you know about aviation or this aircraft.
If you know anything about military aircraft, you would know that looks itself means almost nothing.
The J-15 uses completely new Chinese-developed technology, even the engines and the RAM coating. The only non-Chinese component is the Su-33 airframe. Besides that, all the main and important components are Chinese-developed. It's pretty much a Chinese fighter in a Russian skin.
J-20 is too fat, too slow, and too long like F-117. The F-22 would out run, faster, and higher climb of rate than J-20. F-35 EO DAS would strike lightning down 2x on the J-20 Black Dragon.
@USAAIRPOWER We could assume the 22 and 35 are faster planes simply because they are smaller. Thats just speculation. This is the 21st century. No plane is going to outrun a missile.
A lot of fighters have jamming radar duh? Take example for PAK FA it got 360 degree coverage protection. The PAK FA have X-band, L-band, & Ku/Ka band radar on the front of the wings. It also have X-band on the back of fin between two turbo engine. In the side bay it got S-band antenna. Finally the PAK FA use X-band AESA N050 Radar to equivalent the F-22 X-band AESA AN/APG-77 radar. As you know X-band and L-band can jammed enemy missiles.
@USAAIRPOWER how do you know the speed, weight, performance, rate of climb? all you did is guess. your too blinded but the crap the media gives you in america. you don't know how it flies, you don't know the specs, you don't know anything from the aircraft, except assumptions and guesses.
Since this is a based on a flanker, I'd say it's more comparable to the F-14 in terms of size and role but with F/A-18E/F class avionics and radar. Quite a formidable combo. The guy below: he did say F-35, the F-35C is carrier borne but it will most likely not win against a flanker in an air-to-air combat scenario. Very few plane can.
