I regret that I can only like and favorite this video one time..
Barbara Stanwyck is by far the most under-appreciated of classic Hollywood actresses. In my opinion she had more talent, range, and charisma than any actress today, and most back then.
@HollyGoLightly1978 The dance she was doing was The Big Apple, which became, The Lindy, which became The Jitterbug, which became, The Bop, and then the Sixties came and everyone started dancing alone, and more tribal like. But the on the floor stuff and funny moves were happening in the 1920s. Someone must know more about this than me, but this is what I have noticed. My folks were Jitterbuggers, my dad once won a contest in Chicago.
Babs has always been my kind of gal, great with a right hook, and a killer! She had some sexy moves, too. Imagine! I've been watching episodes of The Big Valley lately and now I'm thinking I want to pull out my Stanwyck films. Love that you used "She Bangs" with this. Perfect. Love it. Thanks so much.
@Bombeni Thank you for the nice comment. She's one of my very favorites and was just great in everything. One of my local theaters is playing her film Night Nurse this Sunday and I'm so excited!
Omg, what an amazing tribute! I was mesmerized and could not take my eyes off the video for one second. Barbara was so very cool, she deserved this above all other Hollywood glamour girls, but dang, there were so many of them that absolutely oozed talent. Ever notice, they could ALL sing, dance AND act? They actually had talent, something you rarely ever see on the new movies.
@DCFunBud haha i think the same thing every time i watch that movie. if she wasn't such a phenomenal actress i would have never been able to take her seriously in that scene.
i remember my first reaction to this was, what? ricky martin and barbara stanwyck?? no me gusta. but really this is amazingly fun and perfectly matched. so props. :)
Loved it! I think it caught her sexiness as well as her sense of humour. Anyway, i just want to know what the movie is at 1:35. I think i've seen all the others except that one.
I'm glad you liked it. I'm sorry though but I don't know what movie it is at that point. I just took the clip from the bio about her called Fire and Desire. I haven't seen that one either so I'm not sure which one it's from.

I can no one like this. Come on its Barbara "Missy" Stanwyck. I am not a fan of Ricky Martin but I have to admit this beat is rockin.

She was kind of the original Jenny McCarthy. She was funny, but very attractive.

I love Stanwyck in that dumb wig and cat-eye sunglasses in "Double Indemnity." The crew must have had a good laugh.
