@TyrantGrandburnin Believe it or not, I had the chance to get a set of the flash filters for the FM12/CT12 a while back. I passed and now I can't seem to forgive myself. Worst mistake I have made in my whole time of collecting. The outserts for the FM12/CT12 are very, very difficult to come across. People have been known to give away their CT12s(CT12 is to FM12 as SF10 is to S10) just to get a set. Hardcore, eh?
@morbidangelofdeath1 The S3 is an incredible mask in my opinion. I just wish that it had outserts for extra impact and scratch resistance. The thing I really like about the S3 is its simplicity. It only has 1 filter port and no drinking tube. It is essentially a featureless mask. That is great since it's likelihood of having a failure point is reduced. The thing I don't like about it is that it is perhaps difficult to clear.
@RetroRespirators can you please tell me why you have to cover it? i've never heard as to why you have to cover the exhale. seems to me if you cover it wouldn't it blow the air out around your head? i can't understand why you have to cover the exhale all i've ever heard is you just blow as hard as you can.
@morbidangelofdeath1 That's essentially what you are doing though. You are clearing the seal around your face as well. The whole point in clearing is in case you donned the mask in a contaminated environment.
@RetroRespirators now i get it. if you just blow outwards you are blowing it out what's around your face, but if you cover the exhale it's blowing anything that could have been around your ears and stuff. thanks for clearing that up,but with masks like the m-17 i've tried to cover exhale and it doesn't cover good. so if you blow without covering it just gets rid of the air inside, but covering gets the seal clean around your neck. but blowing without covering is better than not blowing though.
Well, depends on what you want and by what you mean by affordable. The American M40 is a decent mask that can be obtained for fairly cheap. The American MCU-3/P and MCU-3A/P are also good masks that won't break the bank. If you are more interested in older masks, there are tons of US service masks to choose from, most of which can be purchased for not too much.
what's a fair price for a fm-12, in your opinion?

@TyrantGrandburnin I am still waiting on the Red outserts. I still need a mask for them to go on though. I'm looking to get an SF10 sometime soon.

@TyrantGrandburnin FM12 is a great mask by the way. Much more intimidating looking than the S10 facemold.

@RetroRespirators why hard to clear is their no exhale? when i normally would clear one i would just blow as hard as i can outwards

@morbidangelofdeath1 The filter shields the diaphragm/exhale assembly. You have to cover the exhale in order to effectively clear the mask.
