Re camera angles: you are correct as the camera should be strictly on the performer; only occasionally should it forcus on the audience so that we can see how appreciative they are of the performace. It was a great performance but the video could use much improvement.
I would say that thats not Dandesh - did you think cos her face was similar? I can see that... but i reckon its not her, she moves very differently to dandesh.
rita, its what we egyptians call real oldschool freestyling. being coy is part of the charm. Dina prefers an in your face approach that not all people find attractive, this one dances like the old fifi abdou. dont diss the queen ;)
she is stuck in the same spot and she does not interact with the audience ike Dina does. she does not even look at her audience. I dont know if she dances better like Dina. But Dina has a lot of assurnace on stage. This one looks more shy
this is relle relle relle rellee good lol yeahh i dont think she is better than dina. dina is a veryy good dancerr i think she wouldof danced to it better but she did it relle good and btw the fat on her belly is good cuz it doesnt look good wen ur too skinny its not very attractive but yeah a lil meat is good in the old times they had alot of belly dancers like tht!! she was great!!!
But I think its the greatest compliment for one country when almost whole world is trying to dance like them, and like their music. That is something priceless! And im sure americans and europeans are giving their the best to learn it. And it is hard for them....
Thanks Bint! Yes, it is the Europeans & Westerners that look like a deer in the headlights if they stray from counting or a following a boring choreography. REAL Egyptian dancers understand the music and movements FLOW NATURALLY - know what to do to it. The true Egyptian dancer feels the music, expresses the emotions - connects to the beat not desperately trying to remember a choreography! That is absurd. Improvisation cannot be learned, it is the essence of belly dancing.
But they are trying and learning, they dont give up, lot of them are going to Cairo every year, participate to lot of workshops, taking classes from well known egyptian dancers and teachers, because it should be learnt from the source....and i respect them for that.
Yes, EthnicArts, it is all true, egyptian dancers are best performers but it is natural and normal...they are from Egypt and they understand the songs and they origins - so they already have that inside...doesnt matter if they are proffesional dancers or not.
Yes, Tabla is the correct word in Egypt. Suzy, Dandash, Randa Kemal and many others are some of the REAL bellydancers, not that horrible contrived crap Western/Euro stuff like Jillina/BDSS/Suhaila or that robotic Turkish Didem. Real Egyptian bellydancing comes from our souls and hearts and doesnt have to rely on overly memorizing a choreography. That is boring. It flows like this here. Thanks for posting some more real bellydancing.
omg i totally agree who said belly dancing has to be choreographed middle easterns are brought up that whateva the beat brings to you jus flow with it, lol well anyways, thanks for clearing it up for everyone
Sorry. "tabla" means "drum" in Arabic. So it most definately is a tabla. Dumbek is most commonly an American term. Tabla or derbekki is more commonly used overseas.
Eu gostaria de dançar com ela na areia do Iraque, embebida de sangue ianque.
