  • When Marty runs to meet him calling him "her" baby how moving is that! It in turn reminds me of when God's children stray away from Him out into the world He always comes after us and with His cords of unconditional and unwavering love tries in His own perfect ways to draw us back home to Him and when we do come back home to Him, His spirit runs to meet us calling us "His" child and embraces us so lovingly and restores us from our broken condition. So powerful in how it reflects Gods love!

  • In the end when Robert/Greg comes back to them I believe that in his heart he truly comes to see how much she and her husband truly do love him and truly want him as their own and not for prestige or importance but because they truly love him and want him and in his heart I believe that he truly sees and feels their love for him that they instilled during those 14 years that they had been blessed to have him and in turn will continue to have him as their own and them as his own for life.

  • Yet when Robert/Greg runs off to find his real family Marty's unconditional and unwavering love for him as if he truly was her "biological" son is so inspiring and powerful to where she leaves "everything" she has behind to go out and search for him. I mean she had all kinds of riches but yet she counts them as "rubbish" and loves her son Robert/Greg more than her own life itself to where she would sacrifice anything and everything for him.

  • What is so powerful about this movie is Robert/Greg's adopted mother Marty. I mean here's a lady who has a rich and secure lifestyle and a loving husband and you could say pretty much has it made except for the one void she saw in her life which was to have a child to call her own. In the beginning when Marty and her husband find out that Robert/Greg was actually stolen from his real family and Robert/Greg finds out everything just turns upside down.

  • Thank you for uploading this movie. It is one of my favorites.

  • Thank you SO much for uploading this. I have been looking for this for well over 10 years. What a great Christmas present to be able to see this again! The ending pulls every string in my heart.

  • Absolutely love this film, and have been looking for it for years. I have just the clip of the ending on VHS. I personally think that the ending is about forgiveness. While it isn't explicitly spelled out, I don't think that Robert/Greg dropped out of the Monroe family completely, but he went back to the family who raised him, and who also didn't do anything wrong.

  • again-a little Christmas gem....

  • First John likes Robert bringing him inside house. Why later on, John dislikes Robert. John mistreats him.

Why didn't Robert reveal himself. He had many opportunties. His family could have hugged him after revealing.

  • watch another good movie, Long Lost Son.

  • I love this movie

  • Ooooo I hate the end of this film grrrrrr

  • @TheChrissy48 Me too. The ending did not resolve anything. He goes back to the rich family who raised him. I get that he loves them but he shouldn't just leave behind a letter for his real family who grieved over him for years.

  • i don't get it he decided to live with the parents who kidnapped him?

  • @NarokiDream They didn't kidnapped him. The adopted him. It wasn't until later they realized they adopted a kidnapped child. Something in those terms. I haven't seen this movie in a while.

  • @NarokiDream - they didn't technically kidnap him, they thought it was a legal adoption but I don't understand either why he would go back and why they don't realize they need to make the right choice and bring him back to his real family and give him the chance to live as they should've. They could've worked it out where he could've spent some time with the other family who raised him.

  • Thank you so much MrJoeysquirrel for the upload. This is a great tv movie one of the best.

  • I purchased this movie on DVD 2 -3 years back and it is always on the lifetime network around christmas time!!

  • Thanks so much for posting this movie. I had seen it years ago but unfortunately missed the last 10 minutes. I have been trying to find it to purchase it but had no luck except in the UK. FINALLY, I saw the ending. Thanks again!

  • thank you ever so much MrJoeysquirrel.

  • He signed the letter Your Son Greg. if you look closely when she opens the letter he put his address. I always wondered if she ever saw him again.

  • this was a true story.

  • Damn , that was a crappy movie, the mother should have known or found out that greg was robert. Ugh what a bad ending

  • @ElleCM2 He left her a letter tellling her he was her biological child. She knows.

  • @ElleCM2 - he signed the letter "Your son Greg" so she does know but the crappy part is she wasn't able to hug him or hold him knowing he was Greg rather than thinking he was Robert. I wish too that she would've found out while he was still there as well as his brother who became jealous of him.

  • This is a touching film but two things:

    1) Why didn't the kids rush over to mom when they see her crying?

    2) Did this family have ANY inkling that the new boy in town was their son?

  • I taped this movie years ago on video and lent it to a friend who unfortunately lost it or threw it out. One of the best ever weepies that I've ever seen. Would love to be able to buy it on dvd but don't think it is available. Thankyou for making this available as its the closest thing I'll get to watching it again.

  • @ismay9572 You can get the movie on VHS from the UK, but you have to format to play it here in North America. Sometimes you'll see it on Ebay - it was a made for TV movie in 1990. I have not seen it on TV anymore around Christmas time. Hope you find it.
