@koreadude This isn't really a continuation of the old series, it's a whole new one with a whole new Avatar. So naturally, there wouldn't be any of the old characters, other than possibly Aang, as a spirit. Korra is the main character iof this series.

i think that the animation in this season is a lot more realistic and you can tell that they are trying to use actual martial arts moves more. Overall, I was a little apprehensive about them creating a new story without Sokka (my favorite character), but after seeing this I am really excited!

Avatar is one of my favorite shows til this day. I was so pissed when i saw the movie. I will never understand why hollywood always feels the need to change the story of something they take from another source. There was a detailed and thorough story already and they still changed so damn much....I can't wait to see the new series.

according to the Avatar Wiki they had to keep the last airbender portion of the title due to James Cameron's trademark to Avatar. I'm not sure how true that is but it makes sense i suppose. SIDE NOTE: the series looks amazing, can't wait for it to come out.
