I was a big Huckabee supporter, but I always thought Thompson got to much crap, he shows a real sense of humor and earthiness that would have done well across from Obama's stiff perfectionist debate style.
Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul, the only candidates who are fighting to abolish the IRS. Fred Thompson's plan for taxes would be better than nothing. One thing is for sure, the current federal tax system sucks.
"Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul, the only candidates who are fighting to abolish the IRS"
Correction, you still pay taxes under Huckabee's platform. Under Paul's platform, he will cut both "taxes and spending".
Ron Paul will eliminate the IRS, the Federal Reserve, the Dept. of Homeland Security, and the Department of Education and finally bring home our troops.
And that would be fine with me. No real and meaningful reform will ever be tolerated under our current system of "government". Mike Huckabee was/is for real reform, and Ron Paul, as you pointed out, is, even more so, for real reform. What I believe is needed at this point is, unfortunately, no less than a revolution to restore our Republic.
Huckabee is for eliminating taxes that Ron Paul is not. From what I understand they have different replacements for the IRS. Huckabee if for eliminating most taxes and fees and replacing it with a consumption tax while Ron Paul is for getting rid of the Income Tax and paying the federal budget with what is left.
