I acctually put mine at GOOD now because sometimes when it gets really hot and I am recording my clips end up having weird little lines accross the screen and I noticed when I used the GOOD setting instead of BEST I get a lot less of those lines and most of the time none at all.

@bobongears im guessing once you are done recording the clip,you save them into a smaller file in a program like windows movie maker right? Try using sony vegas. when i record a clip it ends up being like 10 gb in size but when i save it in sony vegas it reduces that to 400 mb and removes all the lines

i have this capture card,and to be honest i dont think its worth the loss of picture quality when you switch over from hdmi.its immediatley noticeable....i got my ass handed to me on afghan today trying this out for the 1st time...i blame the picture quality.

here is what i do.

I use the Eyetv Hybrid and i play directly on my macbook screen and use a recording software called screenflow to record in HD.

If anybody out there owns a mac i would suggest you do this because you can also get TV on your computer with this thing

I got it to work but its in black and white and showing in double. I have the 2 y splitters one is on the pvr with yellow connected to it the other is behind hdtv with yellow on one and green on the other. That is the only way i can get the blue lights to come on.

I have a question. I just got the pinnacle thing today and i have it set up normally to my hdtv. the xbox is setup in standard def, and the av cables from the pinnacle are going to the output of my tv. It records, but when i play the quality is terrible. My question is if i get the splitter cables, does it still have to be connected to the output, because i couldn't really tell in the video.

waste of $10 bucks dude 3 two female 1 male, the xbox doesn't send split signals so you need to plug it into the y splitter alongwith the corresponding color on your rca cable. follow this process and you should get it working.

well see, your not recording in "somewhat HD" your playing in somewhat HD, this is just a method to PLAY in better quality then standard defintion. The only way to record in better quality is to by more expensive capture cards/ change settings to boost quality but thats about it.

You need:

2-3 Y-cables

and a jump drive if you want to record to that and then plug it into your computer. Thats the way i do it, but there are a few other ways that you might find more convenient depending on your setup. The methods are on the box that your PVT(Pinnacle Video Transfer) comes in.

hey man do i need the y cables to play on a regular tv man cuz i bought mine like a hour ago and im tryen to set it up i got the flash drive and the double sided red.yellow.white.cord and i plugged one side in tv and other side nt the pinacle transfer box and i put the flash drive in and tryed to record and i dont know what to do

You do not need Y-cables to play on a standard tv, or standard inputs. This method is for playing on A high-def tv in a high-def input, so you can get better quality then standard but not true HD. It looks better then playing in standard.
