the quality of the sound of violin comes from where the strings or the body itself because what if I bought a cheap violin and replaced the string with a better one so will it be good??/
awesome violin sounds almost as good as my 1735 Del Gesu`. But you miss one point. Guarnari Del Gesu didn't use that chin rest. But your violin still sounds great.
Guys, I'm sure you worked very hard on this video. Next time, though, I wouldn't show the kid's face while he's playing. He looks like he's trying to have a bowel movement. Just show the violin.
You must understand that no matter how good you are at building instruments, you still both look like you just got out of high school. Right or wrong, people like to think their violins are built by "old masters".
Just something to think about. Thanks for the video and good luck in the future.
I did learn a few new terms and that you plain the edges of the top before you glue, thank you! I thought this was very informative, got into the real details!
About 60 or 70 percent of the time that it takes to build a violin is devoted to carving the two plates. They conveniently skipped the plate carving, because they obviously NEVER carved a plate in their entire lives, and merely assemble violins out of pre-made parts.
It's not really a big secret, it's in plenty of books. And the neck doesn't necessarily govern the sound and signature of the violin, that's the body. The neck set is considered to be one of the most difficult and important parts of a violin, I'd expect that they would show that.
No, that they make the neck isn't a big secret, or how to in a basic way, but they also might have particular methods and techniques for making their necks. And the neck quality certainly does affect the sound. Maybe a bad neck will go unnoticed, but a good neck will make a difference for any string instrument.
wow.

Seems like a violin maker would know the tool is a "plane" and that he is the "planer".

How do you take a violin apart? Do you just put water on the joints?

Your vid is good, but it is too short.

way to skip the neck.

Methinks some of the skipping is for the keeping of trade secrets.
