Hi!

I like liked your video, it put a smile on my face! Love the old wood and its appearance. The only thing i would have done differently is: make the legs with a mitred joint as well. Just for esthetics.

Thanks for the comment. I can't argue with mitred joint idea. When I'm throwing this stuff together, the video aspect adds hours to the project so sometimes it's just easier to make it simple. Thanks again for watching.

Very nice, unfortunately there is no sound. I was hoping at least you were using redwood, not just pine 2X4's. Sure glad you didn't have to pay for that glass, it would have cost a fortune.

Thanks for watching. check your settings. you're the only viewer out of 26,000 who said there's no sound. the 2x4 aren't pure pine, they're douglas fir and really fun to work with. very common in home construction and i'm glad to gad them a 2nd life. thanks again.

Well Pete... I've died and gone to Heaven.... I love making stuff out of nothing! I am forever pulling stuff out of the dumpster because it's good stuff !!! I found pieces of cedar that someone obviously pulled off the ceiling of their 70s basement and re-purposed it into some yard furniture. It's cedar !!!!

I don't have any ideas off hand, but i could think of many ways to do it. you needn't be an artist or draftsman to design a table. you obviously have some idea in your head, so make the roughest sketch you can, then get out a tape measure and start writing down lengths. that's how i do it. good luck an keep me posted.

the tone of the wood came out great in the end.

when you were first cutting it to shape i was thinking , " wow that wood looks old and grey " . needless to say you brought it back to life , with style.

i really miss seeing video's like these. i think im gonna start a facebook petition page and try and get you and brucie back together for more bench dog mayhem !!

thanks for the nice words. the bulk of the spanish style homes in LA were made in the 20s with lathe and plaster and great 2x4's. As these homes are being demolished and rebuilt, I often grab these magnificent pieces of wood. You're right, they come back to life nicely once you shave the age off them.
