@MrRobert46 STi's will have been abused more. RX8's will require A LOT of extra goodies to make strait line speed of an STi. With high boost you can put down 300whp with an 8 but the kits are expensive not to mention the tuning involved. STi is more turn key if you want power. For me though, I don't care about numbers so much as the driving experience; handling, lateral response. In that regard the 8 absolutely overshadows anything made by Subaru, or anything under 50g's besides a Lotus Elise.

If you want to escape to a mountain road and merge man with machine then you will utterly fall in love with the RX8. When i was 17 I wanted speeeeed, and the STi will give that to you. that rx8 isnt a triple rotor, if u know about rotaries u will tell by the sound, 3 rotor engines burst eardrums mate, the rx8 231 actually pumps out 228 bhp, 0-60 6.2 secs, 0-100 16.5 secs. its a 13b REW renesis Twin Rotor, each rotor being 654cc making it a 1308cc car, do the math, people who own a scooby are people that cant afford a mitsubishi evo haha

You probably reading the 190 hp as bhp and you probably read the 230 hp as hp the engine produces. automatic transmission is 212 hp at 7500 rpm while the manuel is 232 at 8500 rpm. And there are some cars with automatic gear boxes that uses a paddle shifters. In some cases those do work better, but it's usually the higher end cars like exotics or around the 60k+ range

Everyone, The car in this video is running a stock 13B engine (2 rotor)...I own one too and there is a big tone difference between a 2 rotor 13B and a 3 rotor 20B engine. If anyone doubts, just Google 20b - 3 rotor engine and take a listen. This car has a stock 2 rotor motor.

it has to be a complete motor swap, you can't add a third housing to the renesis since there is no renesis version of the 3rotor, the 20b is a peripheral port engine, I'd love to see mazda make a Mazda Speed version of the RX8 with a NA Renesis side port 3rotor with direct port fuel injection... that would be an amazing machine!

probably 9 or 10K if you do all the work yourself... you have to do some fabrication... need a larger fuel pump, and a complete engine management system... there's a lot of work that goes into such a project, but you can see the rewards... and this car isn't even scraping the surface of a 20b's potential, that motor can push out well over 1000hp if done correctly...
