awwhhh someones had problems with the wankel. Its too bad, I can understand getting frustrated with the hose lines and cooling problems, and the seals, but nonetheless a well tuned rotary is a peice of art. Not that the rotary is hugely revolutionary, but the piston engine is a bit ancient, and the rotary has many advantages. Relatively light weight, high rpm (best part) more combustion per cycle. But yea, i can understand someone being a bit resentfull over this engine.

Well, I thought it was a 3 rotor, but I guess its a 2 rotor actually, and what I mean is 654cc's x(number of rotors) so in this case it would be 654x2 which = 1.3 which means its a 13B.

To clear things up. This FD has a 13B. The porting is Cross Port (Periphial Port and another port that I can't think of right now). It is the shops drag car with about $80,000 in it. It has around 600hp and it runs on street slicks. It is the fastest "H" pattern door slammer in Japan. Exhaust is HKS and the tranny is also an HKS dog mission.  Would have been louder but the silencer was in. The amazing thing is that it has been posting these drag #'s without needing an engine rebuild!!!!

your right it does have ports...and big ones. Sound like peripheral ports to me (the biggest they have, and the most powerful) I'd say it's a 20b though, not a 13b. also people typically don't use peripheral ports on a 13b (it's probably too much strain on the engine)

it sounds like that because of the porting. porting a rotary is like putting a higher profile cam in a piston engine, its hard to get them to idle low the more drastic the grind.

If you listen close you can hear the idle noise........ its like WANK,WANK,WANK. Good, fast motors- Not reliable though, expect lots of dips into rear pocket with one of these babies. (trust me I know, and mine was nowhere near those times)
