  • Or not be an asshole and just say its not in America anymore...

    Take your own advice bub.

  • Lol I got a hands free replay.

(YouTube froze then reloaded) after finishing song.

  • They still play this on Toonami Aftermath, Google it. XD

  • I can remember watching this back when I was 6 on Toonami while my dad took my mum to work

  • This intro is funkier than a man beating you to death with his afro to the tastiest beat you will hear in your life.

  • @masterofdoom5000 I don't know how to respond to this.

  • @gunman30001 Afro Samurai Hi-Ougi ^^

  • To the stars and beyond again

  • man I remember watching this back in the day when they would show anime at night on cartoon network. I also remember watching Yu yu Haukusho, Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo... ahhhh nostalgia, lol

  • Stop getting so serious over the song and just enjoy. That is why is was posted in the first place.

  • Anime = genre. Cartoon = genre.

It's opinion based, mostly. But even a child can tell you the difference in the two. I'm sure I don't have to, since it seems like a tad bit of trolling is taking place.

  • @xltattoolx Well, by literal definition, you're right, but genre isn't usually a term reserved for medium, seeing as classifying an artistic work by it's medium is kinda redundant. Genre is usually used in literary and story-based media to explain the style of story. Otherwise, you're making a statement similar to "I like movies." Which, while correct, isn't helpful to establishing your tastes. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone that hates EVERY movie. Learn to use genre properly.

  • @DairunCates I understand what you said. I do realize that I used it wrong. Thing is, I just don't give two shits :D People still understood my point. Sooo, I'll just keep on doing what I do ^_^ While you keep hating.

  • @xltattoolx anime/cartoon= format drama/comedy/sliceoflife/mystery etc = genre

  • @xltattoolx

No trolling, it's just insulting to pretty much every other contributer to the medium that anime is somehow "different" and a class of it's own. Especially because it wouldn't exist as it does were it not from Japanese artists looking at western cartooning.

  • @xltattoolx I'd have to say anime and cartoons are more based on the art style. K-ON! and Gurren Lagann are both anime, but are completely different genres. (IE: slice of life vs action / adventure.)

  • @dracorider not to mention the ridiculous amounts of fan service in Gurren Lagann. :P

  • better then lady gaga and justin bebier put together

  • @tommaspawn

justin beiber jokes are fucking hilarious. you made an intelligent and witty as FUCK comment there, bro!!

  • @ThaNuke what about lady gaga?

  • toonami = good animes at random selections, now all they play is main streamline animes -.- that are overplayed and boring =truestory

  • @Tremwire What do you mean now? It's been dead for over 3 years. What you say is true though... unfortunately...

  • @Tremwire Wrong, actually, Toonami doesn't exist on TV anymore, sadly.

  • @Tremwire Agreed. It's said that now I have to watch the oldies on Toonami Aftermath. I would pay good money for someone to do the same for the upcoming animation series (western and eastern).

  • @Tremwire toonami= no longer around, and hasn't been around for a LONG long time= truestory

  • @largosama33 maybe not in your country. my friend jerome still has toonami in the phillipines. think before you post

  • When I was a kid, I used to thought Anime was just really good Cartoons lol i was so naive back then

  • @shudodevil10

    That's basically what it is...

  • @Jigmin thank you captain obvious, notice that I said 'just" in my sentence, I meant that it has a plot and well known characters, unlike most western cartoons.

  • @shudodevil10

By your definition, well, there's still no difference. Every cartoon has a plot, and depending on the property, well known characters.

Kung Fu Panda has a plot, and internationally know characters. It must be anime, Q.E.D.

  • @shudodevil10

Hey, did you know, Osamu Tezuka, the father of Japanese "Anime" (read: cartoon) drew reference from Disney features and Fritz the Cat anime? Just saiyan...

  • @shudodevil10

I'm probably going overboard with with these replies, but I hate when people treat anime as a genre and not for what it is, cartoons to enjoy. Same techniques, same technology, different cultural context. Outlaw star was awesome when I saw it, so was Kung Fu Panda.

  • @Jigmin I figure if someone wants to think of anime as its its own genre, let'em. I know I think of anime as its own genre. You know it's a cartoon, so leave it at that.

  • @whataboutvietnam But how can anime be a genre when there are so many genres of anime?

  • @Jigmin Mm-hm. Plus, there's plenty of good Western cartoon series'. The reason anime seems so good is because we only get the stuff that's popular enough to make it overseas.

  • ODAA

  • wow.. this was like my all time favorite anime back when I was a child... nostalgia

  • Toonami..... We'll never forget.

  • HA! My childhood...great anime and the music is just awesome, good story great characters and >-> <-< fan service :P

  • i remember watching this when i was like 13, i always watched even though my mom would tell me this stuff was too violent for girls... didn't stop me from watching it along with trigun, cowboy bebop, yu yu hakasho, and other animes ^_^

  • @lovebyink21 I think I love you. O.O

  • @lovebyink21 Don't forget Gundam Wing!!! ^.^

  • @lovebyink21 I wish I knew more girls like you when I was growing up.

  • @lovebyink21 Good for you!

  • @lovebyink21 "too violent for girls!?" pfffft, good on you sister, and good selection of animes there, trigun was hilarious.

  • @Andru157 Vash rules! but yeah my mom was worried i was never going to be a girlie girl. She tried to get me to watch something else, i be like "No talkie during anime time...plzthnxbye" then i hide the remote lol

  • brings back memories i love this song

  • i still watch this on a asian channel, this like concluded my anime search, but yeah cartoonetwork, bring back he originals plz, or get some new good one plz

  • @matstarify Oh noooo! what will I do in "TOW" days? Oh god I can just feel the bullshit affecting me! :D (give it a break, none of this works)

  • @CrimsonWar5 (This is not me hating on you but me hating on your actions.)

  • @CrimsonWar5 thats why i only did it once cause s this shit is fake

  • Why must all good things end >:'C... this, trigun, yu yu hakusho, Tenchi, Gundam(idk which ones XD) and like a billion others... so many lost to the flow of time

  • @MiniViper666 That's what anime box sets are for my friend.

  • @MiniViper666

    >>>ThePirateBay

  • I think i'm going to cry..*sniff* I miss Aisha....

  • @anmjISAWESOME99 yeah but episode 23 was kinda ridiculous

  • @mrjack037907 It was quite ridiculous...:)

  • hot springs episode that is all.............

  • hey does ne one know what this song is called?????

  • @iheartanimejunkies Through The Night (Opening Theme)

  • This was one of the few animes my brother and i could actually agreed to watch together

  • I don't think all the anime now sucks. Sure, there are a lot of ecchi and shounen jump (like Bleach, Naruto, etc.) But there are good animes out there. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Paranoia Agent are really good (PA might be a little older) But all in all, not all anime sucks nowadays.

  • This was my first anime. It made it so I didn't think anything was "true" anime unless there were robots and women with big boobs and passive-aggressive spaceship AI's criticizing the main characters for most the season.

  • I loved this show as a kid.

It was one of the premier shows aired on the "adult" spin-off channel of Cartoon Network, CNX.

I immediately fell in love with it.

It's been well over a decade since the show and the chalnnel stopped airing and not once have I seen any DVD's for it on the shelves.

Just more High School Musical and Michael Bay Transformers movies.

    There's no justice.

  • @TheJboy88 I just found the entire season DVD set at Best Buy a few hours ago. Check Best Buy! If they don't have it maybe you could have them order it for you?

  • If CN has shows that now exploit sex, cursing, and other things subliminally. Why can't they bring back TOONAMI?! At least the shows back then were straight forward like Sailor Moon for instance, they had lesbians on that anime. tisk tisk CN...tisk...tisk.

  • @dearangel111 they weren't lesbians in the English version they were cousins I really wish they would get rid of boomerang and give toonami and adult swim their own channel but it appears their too dumb/image conscious to do it..

@NikXues it's dead on tv but alive and well here on the web where you can watch shows like baka to test and fairy tail.

  • WHY TOONAMI!!!! WHHYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember when I was a kid I used to wake up at 6:30-7 AM for the new cartoons every Saturday.

Where have those times gone =/ Oh wait they were stolen by h4ters of quality anime.

  • i will have to agree with both of you on the top comments CN now a days sucks ass and cartoons are so gay now they make children see retarded stuff that isn't even funny

  • norris wears kamina underwear held up by starwind and hawking brand suspenders

  • @ladyintegra95, i dont quite agree but i admire and commend you on your grasp of the english language.

  • This makes me so pumped up I could just PUNCH a tree and make the Earth break in half.

  • @Froutloups so... minecraft?

  • Ya know, I really wish they'd bring back all the old shows from (what seems to be) retirement and not re-vamped, like they did with Thundercats. Sure, censor some things if you show it during the day for the kids, but they were still all good! Gundam (any series), Batman, really I'd take anything from the 90's. It's all better than what they've been showing for the past several years, like Chowder and Adventure Time, yuck! How they can call those things cartoons, I'll never know.

  • I have watched the entire series over and over again, and it never gets old. It deserved so much more than just a meager 26 episodes.

  • @chargerman440 have you seen angel links it doesn't have the same characters but it's in the same universe.

  • ohhh how I had a crush on gene. <3

  • fuck this shit i cant watch it you dick faced faggot cock sucking whores your motheres were consicived in the backs of whore houses and your fathers were fucking childmolseters and your uncles fucked your aunts but not there wifes there sisters .....

  • 32 people who watched this are taoists

  • awesome, at all times, always

  • @ChamplooSundae I totally forgot about that series. It kicks so much ass!!!

  • So much nostalgia

  • @tombstone909 I remember epic anime shows like this were the reason why,in first grade, I found my self on top of a slide, thinking about the "running away from girls cuz they got cooties" game that we all played on the playground and imagining myself as the captain of an elite squad of other young robot piloting boys fighting against the cootie epidemic, with the girl i had a crush on at the time as the leader of the girls side(like a Batman/Catwoman kind of thing). then some kid shouted,"move!"

  • god they really need to bring this back

  • @Deathwatch65 say it to Hollywood

  • @pinoypride800 Don;t give them ideas. The last thing we need is some horrible Outlaw star americanized live action piece of shit like the Dragon Ball movie. lol

This series, I must rewatch it. Where are my DVDs....

  • @BondageNoJutsu dbz has too much fantasy for a live film action and I agree that even this show would be barely do-able but after seeing transformers I think gundam would be a good series to try or maybe an ecchi like Clannad. not long ago even movies based on marvel comics were flops.so it's just a matter of getting a good director with the right budget. I heard Spielberg is working on a "ghost in the shell" movie. that's the kind of stuff we can expect to be good.

  • this and the theme to Fist of the North Star are the greatest anime openings ever.

  • I was so young when they ran this on adult swim, but i still have images from it burned into my head. They used to have such good anime on cartoonnetwork. G motherfucking gundam

  • *waves cane* Kids today don't know what anime is! I oughta- *falls asleep*

  • just me, but personally I think a lot of todays anime's fail in comparison to their predecessors of the late 80s and 90s..

  • @th3azscorpio Of course they fail in comparison. Everything's already been done.

  • @simo1kenny lol yup, I gotta say 95% of the anime that comes out today is pure crap, and a lot of them seriously lack in quality. the only anime of today that was good that Ive seen in recent years was FMA brotherhood..

  • @th3azscorpio You're not looking hard enough. Deadman wonderland, Gurren Lagann, Gantz, Baccano(if you don't like having to think don't watch...) Deathnote, Code Geoss, Hellsing Ultimate(ova), Fist of the north star OVA (it's a remake of a REALLY epic old anime. Gundam 00 and Gundam UC.

  • @runescapeforretards gurren lagaan was good, gantz, hated baccano-funny you mentioned it lol, deathnote and hellsing the OVA were good and Ive seen them. code geass was just a rip of death note just with mecha's and supernatural abilities. gundamm 00 was really good. deadman wonderland, I'll pass, I seen my share of morbid, gory anime. in all honesty there's only a handful of anime series of today that are actually worth watching..

  • @th3azscorpio I highly disaggree with you about the Code Geoss being a rip of Deathnote. Code Geoss had a WAY more conclusive plot, that was entirely different from Deathnote. Different drawing style, different time period, UGH the only thing that was similar was how calculating the main characters were. and gantz what...? Also, DFeadman wonderland isn't all that morbid, but it is pretty gorey. You just got to look man... well new Berserk movie is out jan 14. (looks great)

  • @th3azscorpio Agreed. FMA and FMAB are unique and different from the rest.

  • 137 have not found the leyline

  • gives me chills

  • sometimes i think i can trace my adoration for tattooed assholes back to gene starwind

  • omfg I was like 12 when this came out in CN, and now looking back CN turned into shit after soccer moms bitched like crazy about the violence

    fuck them

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh Don't you just wish you could cu them open and shit in their insides?

  • @blade10000 fuck that man, I am taking a chainsaw and going medieval on those bitches

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh i think it had more to do with the new CEO, he took a strong stance against anime as a whole(if anyone should suffer, it's him)

  • @Redfire085 oh really? I never knew that but that guy is a dumb cunt. Anime was what made CN really popular in the early 2000s. The reason there is adult swim is because Gundam Wing(uncesored) did so well at night when they showed it(in the afternoon they would take all the blood out) so they dicided to show more mature stuff at night

if I saw that CEO in the street I would run the cunt over and backup like 100 times on him

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh a little overkill, but understandable

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh LOL i know right i feel bad for kids these days.... i swear on earth and God that when i have a child ima get a tv hooked up to my computer and ima introduce my child to the world of internet ((with parental locks ofcorse

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh i was 8 or 9... shame about CN though T.T

  • @AnimeNovice2010 I remember coming home from school and just waiting for this to start along, it was a great time now there is no anime in CN

we where very lucky to grow up in that time

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh amen too that

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh totally agree with you there, stupid arse motherfuckers (excuse the pun :)) trying to ruin all the fun for us. i remember happily being 11-12 watchig quality anime on CN and then being bitterly dissapointed as they ruined it. now im trying to go back and watch all the anime i loved in their proper states. Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, Full Metal, etc. good times be rollin :)

  • is this a good anime i want to watch it

  • @Aerchain Yes

  • slowly beginning to beleive the golden age of anime is dead.

new stuff is either pointless or horribly shortlived

  • @NikXues

give Sgt. Frog, Needless, and Gurren Lagann a try.

  • @majinnguyver

    I approve of these suggestions

  • @Ibarra751

i seriously love all 3, never can stop laughing at Sgt. Frog.

Needless to me is like a heavy metal album made into an Anime.

  • @majinnguyver Needless is what happens when you take Judas Priest and make them into cartoons lol

  • @supahflyninjaspy

that is a very accurate statement sir, hahaha

  • @NikXues Hey don't be let down, there's still good stuff coming out. Just look at deadman wonderland!

  • @NikXues Your just being stuck up. Comedy anime is getting its turn. Gintama! nuff said. The go-nagi feel is gone but theres still some good stuff.

  • @NikXues only awesome new anime is hellsing ova

  • @NikXues And oversexed. ]: Everything is done mostly to just make the viewers laugh, or horny enough to want to watch another episode. It's a very sad cycle.

  • @NikXues You got that right.

  • @NikXues or it is a step away from hentai

  • @zmangreen52 Or is some crap about school girls and not Ghost in the shell nor Gundam nor any non-moe anime.

Curse you animators of Japan, for giving into the "Man".

  • @NikXues not all new anime are bad

  • @NikXues wat about code geass?? its not pointless or short lived

  • @NikXues

Like after CN had gone into dictatorship. Animation is no longer what we Golden Age veterans would ever call "Art" anymore. Our new young is being brainwashed by the evil agenda of the media and are following them like sheep. It's not even "Entertainment" anymore. Entertainment died out when all this crap emerged in the mid 21st century. At least I am inspired by my childhood to make and awesome science fiction I'm working on.

  • @NikXues you're saying the over saturation of MOE and Ecchi series are pointless? If so, you'd be right....

  • @NikXues watch one piece, its really quite good when 4kids dosnt dub it...FUNimaiton did a good job...or watched it subbed

  • @NikXues yep ... all the good animes have 12 eps and no second season i loved me some Outlaw star, cowboy beebop and yuyu hakusho

  • Outlaw Star is easily the best anime I've ever watched. I love it to death and beyond that. It's just the best.

  • hell ya

  • My favourite Anime of all time, with one of the greatest Anime openings of all time. Respect for a time when Anime's only lasted up to 30 episodes and everyone of them was fuckin' awesome.

  • "THROUGH THE NIGHT" IZ DA SHIT!!!!! d=(^__^)=b

  • anime like naruto, bleach, one piece etc are good and interesting for the first 26-52 episodes and then they start getting repetitive and ridiculus. they just add new powers for the heroes and new stronger enemies, without any real story development.

  • @jpteknoman agree

  • @jpteknoman That's untrue.

  • I miss this anime on Adult Swim :(

  • cool op hot anime

  • love love love it...

  • exelent opening

  • Fuck gurren laggan, this is what its all about. "Get the hell outa my way!"

  • @Squidien Agreed this is the shit, But Gurren Lagann was well made too. Save your hate for the Narutards, and bleach fans.

  • @coifgx

No shit dude. Mainstream anything sucks cock.

Really? Bleach has 250+ episodes and you automatically think they're all gonna be good? What the hell's wrong with you, other than a total ignorance of skill in execution? I'm gonna say a lot of things. (All this was directed at the Bleach fans, of course)

  • AWSOME!

idk outlaw star much but this song is EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCC

  • Everytime I play this song I think my phone is ringing. Because its been my ringtone for so long.

  • @coifgx How did you make it your ring tone? can you show me because i really want to.

  • @spoofooz Lol, I don't know what type of phone you have. I just downloaded it and set it as my ringtone.

  • I love this show and this song so much. I love Aisha the most. X3

  • I remember this show from when I was six. My parents got it for me for christmas five years ago.

  • Miss this damn series

  • I love Harry McDougal. He is such a psycho!

  • @TazHall yes,best one ever imo.

  • This song is just perfect, as far as I'm concerned. It bursts with energy and doesn't stop short! Does anybody know who did this song, and if they put anything else out? I tried searching, but found nothing conclusive.

  • Wanna feel like an Outlaw? Drive fast while playing this music.

But drive good and safe at least.

  • Toonami was awesome. Period. They found good materiel and they knew how to make the material they found look better than it was. What I would like to know is:

What is Outlaw Star's 1st opening Theme song called, and who's it by?

  • anyone miss toonami without cartoon network suck but adult swim save cn ass really

  • @anthony9484 i miss toonami and where i live we don't have adult swim :(

  • @milkyboyfromthegrave There's still Adult Swim but it utterly sucks now.Nothing but meaningless garbage on there.

  • I loved this anime when when it was on toonami when I was a kid. I just watched the real version on animeseason including... ehem... episode 23...

  • @TheJtpond i miss the show my self

  • @TheJtpond lol

  • Ima ducky terror ducky super ducky :P

  • it's not that the shows are bad, it's that on todays cartoons the designers either lack inspiration, or they make a "censored" port from a manga, with diferent (softer) story, less mature characters etc to get a rating of 12+ or less and get a bigger audience.

a classic example is yu-gi-oh. the manga is violent with murders, terrorism and yugi's alter ego is plain evil. in the anime its just about cards and cards and cards and yugi's alter ego is a paladin

    same goes for most anime

  • @jpteknoman I don't read manga /: but i agree i also think todays anime go for the epic fight scenes to get people to watch, where as the older ones i find have morals within the anime, for example outlaw star i believe the moral is not to let go of your dreams and to keep fighting no matter what.

  • @jpteknoman what? seriously?

  • This is by far my favourite anime. The old animes are much better than todays "anime" like naruto >_>

  • Ouh, it's been a while since I saw this. I need to dig out my anime. :3 I love this show, great music too.

  • Man brings back memories of wen cartoons didn't suck
