  • just wish it was longer any more tunes like this out there?

  • The original and best Gallery music is on another clip! Search for "Hartbeat - Print (2 of 3)" and go to 7:30. Enjoy!

  • OMG. What a blast form the past. Yes that warm melancholic feeling rushed through my veins as well. Tony Hart Graaaande!!!!

  • Dig!

  • @diggingthedirt - yes! Spread the word :-) I'm listening to it now getting quite teary. I sent something into the Gallery once, but it never got shown. :-( RIP Tony.

  • I looked this up on my 45th birthday this weekend because the tune had been running through my head for weeks. I cried copious happy tears for the memory of such carefree days spent watching this treasure of a man make the world more beautiful. He encouraged me to follow his example and I hope I have. Having wandered down this memory lane in a foreign land (I am now in America) I have sent it on to all my friends here so they too can be wrapped in this warm blanket.

  • @BrodieScott27 Yay, spread the word!! Great guy. I sent something in to the Gallery when I was a child but it never got shown :-( RIP Tony Hart.

  • i`m sure this track has appeared as CH4 Testcard Music

    Is it comercially available?

  • "Not bad for a seven year old"

"Rubbish for a 12 year old"

    "Wow, good for 10"

  • i like it woohoo

  • This is available from iTunes or Amazon UK. Look for ...."Classic Television Themes vol 2". Many great KPM tracks to be had on that album. Great theme this one. I was around when the original "Vision On" was showing and of course, the Gallery theme was different.

  • just love this tune a tue classic for a true classic mans show r i p tony hart

  • Beautiful, beautiful piece of music. It oozes compassion and warmth.

  • i think left bank will be tony harts theme !!1

  • great show we use to watch it all the time.better then the trash they serve up to kids now with their mindless cartoons. rip tony

  • Wonderful. I understand that Bob Morgan wrote this piece in response to a personal bereavement. It's such a moving and joyous melody, and has a real hypnotic quality. It also makes a great soundtrack in which to remember the great Tony Hart by. Tony was such a gentleman who created so much wonderful art in so many different and imaginitive ways, and his influence is still with people born in the sixties and seventies. RIP Tony.

  • Oh my god. Its as if I am back in 1981. I'm having my tea. Just finished wathcing Dangermouse on ITV. Now this on BBC1. Tony Hart - along with Peter Firmin and Co - absoloute LEGENDS. Lost to us forever.

  • God - the sheer POWER of music to capture vivid (childhood) memories! 1981 is indeed the year, ah1701 - it's logged in my brain as the year I got my first cine camera & I had a go at animating my own plasticine Morph (have a look at the short film on my channel, made a couple of yrs ago) & ActionMen, & I remember this music being part of the soundtrack to my life at that time!

Thanks for the inspiration, Tony. You're a true legend & awesome talent!! Kids' TV isn't the same nowadays :-( R.I.P.

  • Nobody is lost forever, you see, they live in you, in your heart!

  • @bogen1050

That's a most beautiful sentiment. Thanks.

  • A kids tv legend

  • Respect for Bob's contribution to the late, great Tony Hart's fantastic shows.

Google "zoot music" to find out more

Bob is a superb keyboard player and can be found playing awesome stuff in Ain't Nothing But - Kingly St, London W1 + Jazz After Dark in Greek St.. check with those venues for up to date info!

  • Tony was the most patient artist on tv. It will be a sad and empty box without him.

  • It's called Marguerite by Bob Morgan.

    RIP Tony Hart

  • Did you know that this was included on The Theme, the very first Channel 4 trade test tape?

  • i dont remember this but i remember the later version...

  • Water Buffalo - also by Bob Morgan.. it's on his Zoot co uk site!

  • ..was the name of the follow up track.

    This one is Marguerite.

  • I'd forgotten just how mesmerising this track was, its beautiful.

RIP Tony, you could never be replaced.

Thanks for making my childhood tv so much fun, I'm certain Morph is there with you in spirit.

    God Bless.

  • Thanks for that. That's lovely. Especially with the recent sad news. Is it available for download? I'd pay for that!

  • Thank you NinaOPerez. I love it!!

  • this is great reminds me when i was a kid.. x

  • Whos is this, i love it?

  • Well Done NinaOPerez! :0) This is the only gallery song I ever knew and after having it in my head without hearing it for about 25 years I've finally heard it again!! I would never have imagined when watching this as a kid that I'd be watching it on a computer 30 years later!!

  • Ah the memories!

  • Who found this?!? Memories flooding back... much more evocative than the over played Vision On music gallery. Ace!

  • This brings back some great memories. My sister and I used to bop to this one!

  • Marguerite by Bob Morgan.
