  • I love to see how many brilliant American scientists that Dawkins talks to in his documentaries.

  • Truth is always reassured or upgraded by incomming evidence & performs as a piece of a pattern. Fantasies depend on who believe in them.

  • I wish Dawkins came to my school.

  • great quality! nice work

  • The black guy was the best.

  • I've been watching all these videos and have learned much. Thanks for uploading them!

  • Thanks for uploading all these videos with Richard Dawkins. I highly appreciate it.

  • I wish these people would stop saying "Believe in evolution". Because evolution isn't something you have to "believe in", you either accept the evidence or you don't. No faith required.

  • Here is an interesting experiment: Empty your garage of every piece of metal, wood, paint, rubber, and plastic. Make sure there is nothing there. Nothing. Then wait for ten years and see if a Mercedes evolves. If it doesn't appear, leave it for 20 years. If that doesn't work, try it for 100 years. Then try leaving it for 10,000 years.

Here's what will produce the necessary blind faith to make the evolutionary process believable: leave it for 250 million years.

  • @freedomland11 You clearly have no grasp of evolution if that's your defense against it.

  • @AgowTisro...I do gt it...I know evolution, but where did the organisms come from??? That's my defense, whats urs?

  • @freedomland11 I'll tell you when we find out. I could ask the same about God, but I already know your answer.

  • @AgowTisro...really..whats my answer? and how can you explain my 1st comment? that you replied on!!! can't answer me that huh!!!

  • @freedomland11 "God always has, and always will be" or something along those lines.

And referring to your first comment, evolution doesn't form life from nothing. It forms from organic materials under the right conditions. Put some carbon in that garage, let it sit for a few million years, and you'll have simple organisms.

  • @AgowTisro...Of course! I get your analogy, but what you need to understand, if there's nothing b4 the universe, how did it began...Nothing...NOTHING!! no chemistry, or science can still answer that question!!!

  • @freedomland11 That's why a lot of philosophers turn to God, or a god. Not just the Christian God, but the other thousands upon thousands of gods before it.

(Notice I say "It", to give a god the form of a man or woman is just stupid)

  • @freedomland11 there was no before because time itself did not exist, what's in the north of the north pole?

  • @freedomland11 why ignorant people keep coming to these videos! You do not understand anything, it is no coincidence, you idiot.

Please, man, nobody is going to awful PowerPoint presentations about Jesus, with pictures of sunset and cheesy piano music that people like you produce!

if you have no brain, please remain silent and the rest of the planet does not know it!

  • @maximilianitoaguirre....this has to be the most idiotic reply I have ever gotten. Please re frame yourself from being ignorant. Who is talking about Jesus or sunset pictures. It seems your the one speaking out of Spite..Go look that word up!!

  • @freedomland11 that's not what evolution is.

  • !WARNING!

    This video contains animal porn

  • wow, rich guy. A copy of 1st edition can reach over 150k$....

  • it's funny how EASY it is for people to accept an ancient bible, while it's so hard for them to believe modern science

  • "Science is not perfect, but it's the only tool we've got"

    -Carl Sagan

  • Long live mr. Richard Dawkins... I no longer feel like such a rare oddball surounded by superstitious, brain locked, holy rollers. The internet is undoubtedly the greatest invention since the printing press. Thank god for the evolution of great free thinkers ;)

  • Awesome documentary. Gave me a nice review of 7th grade Life Science, 9th grade Biology, and this year's Environmental Science. LOL

  • religion apear in old time and made a kind of order in there old human society.. not to kill, no stealing and not doing to other what you don't want you to do..it was usefull ,it's making an order and the key of this order was the scared of god and hell..now police are here to sunstitue this.. but religion continue so strong, and like a sect , its began business, jesus supose to be poor and counter the rich, but the pope is soo rich! this is contradiction! this is now brainwash sect!

  • well i mean, jesus and 7 Apostle

was consider like a sect befor the crucifix, and it is!

  • well said, we no longer have to believe in supernatural to explain our existence.

  • o i would love to have a room like that ...nothing but books, everywhere <3

  • Which is the next documentary after this?

  • the unofficial

    Richard Dawkins

    Channel

tyvm for the uploads you are a beast of a legend

  • Beautifull decomentary :), ***** stars.

  • Why did they have find a bunch of kids that are so...how can I put this...so cretinous?

  • this video makes me realise how bad religious indoctrination really is in a country like the uk.... scary stuff

  • choke her with the scarf!

  • Wow he has a 1st edition: that is probably worth millions of pounds!

  • @luarionte such things are priceless :)

  • Religion is the lazy and convenient answer to complex, difficult and painful questions about the origin of species. Science may not be always 100% correct, and can be extremely inconvenient to grasp, but at least science is based on facts and evidents that do not have to explain itself or be apologetic about it.

  • Haha, it's pretty hilarious how dawkins' eyes bulge when he hears venter say "to me it's not a theory anymore".

  • Hahaha definitely, mine kind of did too, but I guess that he didn't want to correct him.

  • @diomedes39

"Haha, it's pretty hilarious how dawkins' eyes bulge when he hears venter say "to me it's not a theory anymore".

That's because there really is nothing to correct. Ventor was inferring there is no reason not to call evolution a fact, since the supporting evidence is so overwhelming. I still laugh when people say dissmissingly that evolution is "just a theory."

  • The reason that his eyes got large is because a theory is more important and more valued in science than a fact, and that man should have known that. Out of respect, Dawkins did not correct him because the man obviously made a mistake in using the layman's definition of theory.

  • Yes, we all agree. of course theory is more important than a single fact since theories have basis in many facts. I don't think though in the conversation it was worth correcting, which is surely why he didn't.

  • You're right there. Have a good one.

  • These kids really prove how brainwashing religion can be. Pretty much all of them said that they now see evolution is a very strong theory, but with no evidence whatsoever they still cling to their comforting religious upbringing. One can only hope that as time progresses they ask more questions and learn more facts.

  • @AtheistBrit i really hope so .....i really hope so

  • thank you

    its clear now :p

  • if evolution is a fact does that mean life is rare

  • Evolution by natural selection does not concern itself with the origins of life, that is the theory of abiogenesis. It theorizes for the spontaneous generation of the most primitive, self-replicating cells with the most primitive genome and membrane(s) by chemical interactions of organic molecules. Then by rare beneficial mutations of their genome, those primitive organisms will reproduce asexually and pass those beneficial mutations onto the next generation and so on.

  • But to answer your question directly with what I said above, yes, life, especially the multicellular speciation that we have on Earth, is rare. However, simple unicellular and primitive organism generation elsewhere in the universe may not be so rare considering the vast amount of planets so far postulated in the universe. It might not be as advanced in the evolution stages as Earth is, but once evolution by natural selection begins, it does not stop as it has no goal.

  • no.

  • Dawkins has much to say about the rarity of life in The God Delusion. Life is certainly rare, but the universe is a big place so the likelihood that we're alone in the universe is almost zero.

  • No, the likelihood that we're alone IS zero. The likelihood of humans making contact with other intelligent lifeforms seems to be unlikely but not impossible and worth trying.

The abundance of lifeforms on this planet just proves that the galaxy is simply a breeding ground for life. It creates an infinity of possibilties for life to form and every once in a while it works perfectly.Multiply that by infinty and the outcome is infinity life forms.

It's enough to make our small brains spin.

  • No it's not zero. You're operating off unproven premises: As far as we know, our universe is not infinite. It may be unlikely for humans to make contact with other lifeforms, but so far we haven't found other planets with the prerequisites of life. It's just something we don't know yet and statistical estimates of this are always in part based on speculation. There is so far no proof or evidence of life outside earth. But it is highly probable.

  • great stuff i think i might have to buy the dvd

  • If I could choose to meet Richard Dawkins or James Hetfield once in my life, I would choose Richard Dawkins, and I'm almost the biggest Metallica fan ever.

  • wow. A first edition of Origin of species. That thing would be worth a small fortune.

  • worth its weight in 100 dollar bills :D

  • thanks for uploading this..

  • You're welcome! :-)

  • what's going on in british schools??? i'm british and i've never met anyone who goes to church. is it just because they picked a school in london with lots of people from non-british parents?

great programme by the way. :))

  • Dawkins is the rock star of genetics and evolution. Thank god (not really) for Dawkins :-)

  • @nolobede I'd have said Thank goodness and honesty for Dawkins. owo

  • @odykay

"I'd have said Thank goodness and honesty for Dawkins"

Well, then the creationists who read it might not get it since they seem to have difficulty with goodness and honesty.

  • @nolobede Humans have difficulty with goodness and honesty whether Christian or not. That's the whole reason Adam sinned in the first place. That's why God came down in the form of a man to give us a way out of our plight. I used to believe in evolution and started seeing that there were other interpretations of the facts that were scientific and that these scientific interpretations were not only valid but also matched what the Bible claims. This can't be coincidence and opened my eye

  • @AndyG792

"Humans have difficulty with goodness and honesty whether Christian or not."

    -Yup agreed.

"That's the whole reason Adam sinned in the first place."

-Wow, one sentence into your post before you started blathering complete bullshit. Adam? really? are you 12?

That Evolution happens, is fact. Stone cold, rock solid fact. That discussion is loooong over and there IS no argument you can offer that hasn't been tried and completely debunked already. Time to grow up Timmy.

  • Thats just plain wrong and stupid. Evolution is a religion it actually has provable evidence.

  • Sorry about that typographical error

"Evolution isn't a religion it actually has provable evidence."

    Mistyped that "is".

  • When you understand the genocide commited by religon everyday, you would understand that it must be destroyed. And the truth must be preeched.

And if you even claim to come back, you will be wrong wrong and wrong.

  • @diggsdad and you're wrong

  • Dang, I want a library like that

  • The real lesson here is not that some people are closed minded, short-sighted, or stupid. The real lesson is that we all are closed minded, short-sighted, and stupid. It is only with the greatest of effort that we ever get to see something that is not a mere reflection of our own minds.

  • Thanks for the series, Enjoyed it very much!

  • stupid girl at 6:19 needs head blown off.

  • I guess she is just not fit to survive !!!!!

  • That was beautiful. Thank You.

  • hey how come this video won't play? OMG i need to hear the ending!

  • Awesome Vid, thanks for the post

  • I Love your approach to Biology and your books. You make Bio easy to understand even if you do not have a background in it - like I do - BS Cytotechnology

  • What the fuck is your problem?

  • I LOVE DAWKINS!

  • ummm... Dawkins is actually a biologist & an ethologist... In college he studied Zoology. So I think he has extensive background on Biology.
