There is an amazing charm to this Texas "hick"...You could not be further from such a title...Your prayer was perfect and I do prefer the KJV, even if I have to read some phrases over to 'get' the meaning, I find it special and easy to read and there are too many things left out of the NIV,(I know, in the footnotes)but it leaves alot out about the Trinity, and Jesus being the Son, ONE with God. I have both, leaving out words and total verses changes meanings...okay

I too love the KJV but I often read the NIV because it sounds more like I sound. I know of the deleted verses and the changed meaning in some passages. The one that bothers me most is the Lord's prayer. I have over 30 bibles in my home so I cross check verses and get the meaning from several different translations. There is one thing that no one can change: Jesus Christ died to save sinners!! He will be coming back again and very soon as I see it. Everyone needs to be ready. GBU sister.

You used my favourite passage today (about Jesus praying to have the cup taken from him) - that passage always moves me in ways I can't explain. How can any Christian politician get by in this arena without dedicating himself to close a devotional reading of Psalms?
