Very appealing young baritone voice. Rich in quality. Good line. Breath excellent. I might even prefer this recording to that of the divine Dietrich Fischer Diskau, whose version is a bit slow and ponderous. I do not say such a thing lightly. DFD is the gold standard of the art song. But this is well done, too. Congratulations to the strings, as well--- a fine performance. Bravo, bravissimo! all around.

Excellent job! I did this piece for my senior recital 30 years ago. It's not an easy piece. So many subtleties and nuances. And you tackle them VERY well! Bravo!!!

This is a tremendously calculated and intelligent performance of one of the great songs in the English repertoire. Your voice is resonant and expressive, and makes this song many times as affecting and troubling as it already is.
